I wore contacts for nearly 20 years and pretty blind without my glasses. I had tears of joy the moment I opened my eyes off of the procedure table. My vision was back approx 90% immediately after the procedure and continued to improve after couple of days. Thank you Dr Ashrah and his staff. You guys are amazing. Have I mentioned their offices are very trendy and upscale too?

I had severe astigmatism and nearsightedness with onset at age nine. The special contacts I needed…read morewere uncomfortable and I hated wearing glasses. I could read the "E" at the top of the eye chart and that was all. As soon as I could, much later in life, I did something about it. Two co-workers recommended Dr. Ashraf of the Atlanta Vision Institute when he was with his former lasik surgery practice. On their recommendation, I had the same surgery performed (using a type of Bausch & Lomb equipment that is obsolete now). He corrected my eyes to 20/15 in one eye, and nearly 20/15 in the other. This was back in 2001 and I swear by my results. Lasik, though performed under a streamlined process, is still surgery, and you experience minor discomfort and inconvenience as you recover. The success rate is very, very high, as a result of being carefully screened beforehand. Read the literature accompanying your consent forms. I referred Miss D. to Dr. Ashraf after he formed the Atlanta Vision Institute, and he performed a different type of vision improvement surgery for her, and three years later she also is very happy with her result. We paid for and received the one-year touch-up package, though she did not use it.

I chose Dr. Tucker after a few frustrating years with a Norcross-based Ophthalmologist. I found…read moresome positive entires on Kudzu referring to Dr. Tucker and I have been pleased with him and his office for about two years now. The Doctor himself is very competent, but the best part is he surrounds himself with equally competent staff with little staff turnover (unlike my previous Ophthalmologist, where I would find entirely new staff every six months or less...). All of the doctor's direct assistants are very personable and helpful, with a special notice to the woman who schedules surgery and the like. Also, the woman who "checks you out" is a doll as well. A particular shout out to the two opticians who sit on the north side of the lobby. Mike and Trent are very helpful and willing to adjust your frames and work with you in every way possible to make sure you can see well... This office is very, very busy and it can come across as like you are being lost in the process sometimes, but they eventually find you. The only negatives I can mention is the face they are "Obsessed with Health Insurance (and cards)" and the women who man the front desk are sort of bereft of charm. but this is still one of the better Ophthalmologist offices in the general area.

I initially saw Dr. Segal a year ago; he had been referred to me by a friend…read more I recently saw Dr. Segal (Nov. 2019) after purchasing eyeglasses at WalMart and having a problem with vision. I was told that if my prescription had changed to come into WalMart within 30 days & they would change the lens. Since prescription was a few months old when I went to WalMart I made an appt with Dr. Segal & was given a thorough screening/exam and found that changes had occurred. I have never felt rushed by anyone there. I am patient b/c I am at a place where I know they all provide excellent care. Dr. Segal was very thorough as usual & concerned about the changes. He clearly tells me what he sees & I ask questions & get answers. Yes, it is a very busy office, but just like a restaurant if there are very few people every time one goes it causes one to wonder. Comprende vous? He referred me to a neuro-ophthalmologist and said this & more, "She is a distance, but very good." I responded that the distance does not matter as long as she is very good. I am so thankful for an excellent physician after having one who did not own up to what had occurred with surgery and wasting my time going to Emory's "eye clinic" far too long. As usual, I read the neurologist's reviews. I was concerned; and as often is the case, there were very good ones and very not-so-good ones. As I reviewed each review carefully, I noticed there were issues raised that should not have been regarded in evaluating the doctor or the practice. I called Dr. Wiener's office and Jane answered the phone. She was extremely nice, helpful, and even shared some other important information with me when I mentioned Medicare. There had been a few negative comments about Jane as well. I am looking forward to seeing Dr. Weiner in a couple of weeks.
