I had cataract surgery and accommodating lens implant done on my left eye approximately 8-10 years ago. It worked out perfect! Customarily the other side should have been done two or three weeks later. A chronic right eye irritation made me defer it this long. Unfortunately, I could not get satisfactory assurance that this problem should not be a deterrence in going through with the second procedure. It has taken this long and even after 3 different previous complete ophthalmological evaluations including from the one who performed the initial procedure, they weren't reassuring enough to satisfy my level of comfort. Until a nurse friend in Ms. Angelina Trinidad happened to be singing praises and putting out good words about her ophthalmologist at Lotus Vision. Eudy went to see him and while we were at it I did too. After all, my eye check-up was long overdue. It was a blessing. We found him personable, more reassuring, convincing, and relatable. His office is spic and span. It was like the old school of health care delivery, being treated like a patient and not just a number. So, long story short, I had him do what I have been deferring this past 10 years. Eudy had hers done last month, both of them. Here I am, a day after surgery. It is by no means a glamour shot but with the mandatory dark specks necessary for a few days after the procedure. Little did I realize that throughout these years I was only seeing with one eye. No wonder I was always in the losing end in our Mahjong games. Anyway, my total vision is a lot better now. Depth perception is also much improved. So, hopefully this may lead to the start of a winning streak. Never underestimate the wonders of medicine and surgery. More importantly, be your own advocate. Ask questions and don't let anyone do any procedure, especially elective ones, until you are fully satisfied and convinced it is needed, it is safe and the best one for you. read more

I selected Dr. Nemi for a dual cataract procedure, preferring a sole practitioner over a large practice. The second eye was completed last week. The entire experience was very positive. The office staff is wonderful and helpful. Dr. Nemo is easy to work with, explains things clearly, and is patient answering questions. I never waited more than 10 minutes for any office visit. The surgery Facility they use, Northside Gwinnett Surgery Center, is one of the best I have used. I was in and out on both days in less than 1.5 hours. I was never informed that dilation was required, nor were any of the "Perceptions" explained to me. Although I was told that I needed a second appointment to do my "fields", I had to get information from a technician to explain the doctor notes from the initial appointment. The tech assumed that Nemi had gone over the notes, so I guess it was an untypical situation. read more

Since the fifth grade I've been wearing glasses or contacts. Needless to say since the fifth grade I've been wishing that I didn't. After several years in my early twenties of my doctor telling me that I "wasn't a LASIK candidate" due to my ever changing prescription, my vision finally stopped getting worse and stabilized over a 24 month period. I did my research on the different types of corrective surgery, the different lasers in the area, and then the hard part -- the different doctors in the area who do LASIK procedures. I saw all of the deal-a-day type companies offering cheap LASIK but let's be honest -- I'm not going to pinch pennies when it comes to my eyeballs. Not to say that I'm not price sensitive -- I shopped around and selected Dr. Nemi at Lotus Vision to do my surgery. Dr. Nemi fit the bill for what I was looking for with respect to 1) type of surgery 2) type of laser 3) professionalism 4) timeline and 5) price. It's been over a year since my surgery and I've almost forgotten about all those miserable years spent poking myself in the eye, washing my contacts when they get dust/dirt/whatever in them, and taking my glasses off whenever anyone is taking a picture. I saw Dr. Nemi from a friend's referral. I can honestly say that all my years of going to Ophthalmologists, he is the only one who actually explained and showed me visions of my actual eyes to me. I was able to view the problems with both eyes Having had a registered nurse's background this was important. to me. He performed many of the various tests himself, thus I felt the testing was done with accuracy. He explained everything to me and answered many of my questions. I don't like the business practices here and didn't much care for the attitude of Dr. Nemi either. Dr. Nemi seems to have a real superiority complex and a strong need to be right. Sometimes that is how really good doctors act. My personal opinion is that Dr. Nemi isn't that good. It is the pushy business practices that really bother me. I got a card in the mail saying I have an appointment that Lotus Vision scheduled for me. When I just ignored the card, I started getting phone calls from Lotus. Since 2013, Dr. Nemi of Lotus Vision Comprehensive Eye Care has treated my eyes for vision issues, blepharitis and dry eyes. This year, 2016, he performed cataract surgery and laser treatment for astigmatism--more on that later. As a result of these multiple issues, I have been to his office approximately two dozen times. I remain amazed and appreciative how knowledgeable, precise and determined Dr. Nemi is to provide the very best care for me, a patient with a number of eye issues, each issue requiring expertise. I have received the very best care imaginable resulting in manageable blepharitis and dry eyes. This year, my regular exam revealed that my cataracts required surgery. Dr. Nemi provided every option to me, informing me of the advantages and likely outcomes of each option. Although I was mildly apprehensive about the prospect two eye surgeries causing issues with the dry eyes and blepharitis, Dr. Nemi and his staff guided me through the process with utter professionalism and clarity. My many questions were answered completely. After the first surgery, I could see so well with the eye that had the new lens--edges far and near crisp and colors so vivid--that I was eager for the second surgery. Imagine that, looking forward to surgery! The surgeries were comfortable and performed in an inviting, professional surgical facility. By taking Dr. Nemi's advice, I now have 20/20 vision after years of needing bifocal contacts or glasses for 20/100 vision. I've now completed the aftercare for the second surgery. Two weeks ago, I noticed that I did not reach for my glasses first thing upon awaking in the morning, something that I've done for 30 years! I simply do not need vision correction and although it took a couple of weeks after the second surgery to stop reaching for glasses that I no longer need. Dr. Nemi's skills and expertise both as a clinician and as a surgeon earn my highest praises. I agree with C B. that Dr. Nemi seems to have a real superiority complex. I did not feel much hospitality and respect from him at all. The thing that really bothered me is that they got my lenses totally wrong!!! The prescription is for progressive, but I got regular ones. After they changed to progressive, I saw all letters on my laptop blurring. I am very disappointed. I will never go back again and will not recommend to anyone. read more

My wife and I, along with our three children, began seeing Dr. Nemi about a year ago. We picked him largely upon the positive reviews we had read online. I've been very impressed with Dr. Nemi's professionalism from the very beginning. In addition to being a highly competent doctor, it's obvious he takes pride in his appearance, demeanor, and attitude. This weekend one of my daughters had a small foreign object that became lodged in the white part of her eye. She had been outside all day yesterday in the high wind and something must have blown into her eye and gotten stuck. I called Dr. Nemi's office (on Sunday morning) and left a message. He called back within 5 minutes. I explained my daughter's symptoms and texted him a picture of her eye. He decided that this was something that needed to be taken care of right away and he said he could see her in just a few hours. We met him at his office and he removed the object that was imbedded in my daughter's eye. I am so impressed with the outstanding service I received from Dr. Nemi.
