Still waiting on my returned call to schedule my eye surgery. Went here in a referral from my eye doctor I had the evaluation done for my cataract surgery and did I not schedule it that day because I had another medical issue I wanted to resolve before scheduling my eyes. I was told thanks no problem and they understood. The said just call and they would schedule the surgery over the phone since I had completed the preliminary steps. 3 weeks later I was clear to schedule. Phoned the number I was given was not answered but I left a message as directed. 1 week went by and no call. I phoned again, no answer but directed to the message center. Left another detailed message. 4 days later , no call. I called the office direct and spoke to someone who said she didn't schedule the surgery but would transfer the call to a lady who could handle that. After a couple of rings, no answer message machine. Left another message. To day is December 25. Still no return call. I completed my second eye surgery with Atlanta Ophthalmology associates. Last week. Surgery was fantastic. Very professional and not an assembly line practice. Thank you Wolfson for being so incompetent and allowing me to find the best eye surgeon in Atlanta. Dr Tripp Cook did cataract surgery on my eyes. First eye was great. Second one he REALLY messed up!!! I cannot see out of this eye. I went in there with 20/20 vision! When I questioned him he got really upset with me. Am I not allowed to question what he did to my eye? He was a jerk! I will never refer him to anyone! I now need surgery again. dr leaf did surgery. he spends less then a minutes with me every visit. he tells me the same thing everytime i go. i have seen photos with my issues. his not honest with me. i cant even drive anymore. im going blind because of dr. leaf. look elsewhere if you want to see after surgery. ive cried about this so much. i dont want to be blind. dr. leaf needs to retire. when a doctor doesnt realize his telling you the same instructions every visit. its time to take a long vacation. he destroyed my life. read more

I was referred to Woolfson Eye by my eye doctor for cataract surgery. Dr. Cook examined me and confirmed that I needed surgery. I felt unsure and got a second opinion; where I was told that while I do have a cataract, it's not affecting my vision and I don't need surgery at this time. This feels like a violation of trust and I cannot recommend. read more

Hubs got Lasik almost 2 years ago and has been so happy he finally took the leap to get it done. Prior to his surgery he had been wearing glasses since he was a small child. I found Woolfson after some research and we have been so happy with the results but my husband's care as well. I made all his appointments over the phone and the staff has always been super friendly and attentive. His follow-up eye care is astronomical, though. His eye surgery included the post-op check-ups but after those are completed you need an eye exam each year. It is $400 for the eye exam and some scan they said he needs every year. It is true he can go to any eye doctor of his choosing, but he has been so impressed with Woolfson he decided to continue coming here despite the cost. read more

I had my follow up appointment this morning at 7:50. I was seen on time and received stellar service from front desk to Dr. Cook. My eye exam (dilation, pressure check, field vision, etc) was handled professionally and with great care. Every question I had was answered with great detail. Every concern I had was handled with compassion and comfort. I felt much better after my appointment this time. I believe my 1st appointment must have been an "off" day. Life happens and emergencies do as well but communication is key for the customer. I would definitely recommend this practice and recommend early morning appointments. read more

The doctor is probably as wonderful as he thinks he is. The staff is polite but sometimes less competent than I'd like. Bring a good book as there are several waits between machines and before appointment begins. They charged me a wrong copay and credited my payment (clearly marked with the invoice number they assigned to me) to my spouse's account! That was not this year. They called and canceled my appointment during COVID and this week sent me the confirmation text for my spouse's appointment. At their office I was not allowed to wait in their roomy waiting room while my spouse had his appointment, despite having a mask on, both vaccinations, plenty of empty chairs, the heat outside, and the governor's dropping all COVID restrictions for the state. I plan to find myself another doctor to avoid confusion and to salve my insults. But I might not because the doctor is excellent. read more

Quick, and to the point. As another Yelper stated in their review; It's easy to think that an eye specialist will be more fluff because it's what I've experienced in the past. Not so at this location, with this staff. I had injured my eye in one of my many little adventures that involve racing, which required me visit the emergency room just south of this location. The doctor's there did enough to make sure that my sight wouldn't be lost in that eye, but they stated that I needed to visit an opthalmologist ASAP to follow up to verify their initial findings. With it being the holidays, it was tough to get anyone that was open or would take me, but Woolfson in Cumming did at least put me on their docket to be seen. I showed up, filled out the usual background checks, and within ten minutes I was whisked away to an exam room, checked out, and then handed off to the doctor, which was no less that five minutes after that. I was talked to like a human, advised in a very thorough manner, and advised about my eyesight. Quick, and to the point. Cool. After this experience, I think that I'll make this location my eye doctor from now on. A very professional staff with courtesy and timeliness goes a long way for me. read more

If you are old enough to remember aluminum siding salesmen in the 60's and 70's these folks at Woolfson wrote the book on scams. I had an appointment with the doctor and he diagnosed me as needing cataract surgery on my left eye, I was led into an office where it was explained to me that the doctor could remove it with a scalpel or charge $550 to have it removed by lazer as my insurance would not cover that. I was also offed a higher grade lens for an additional $2000 out of pocket which I denied. I agreed to the $550 for the lazer and was told to pay on the day of the surgery, As instructed I arrived at their office prior to the procedure and was told that I owed $2000 to proceed. Blew me away. The lady tried to tell me that I had said that I wanted the high end lens which was absurd and I told her so. They must pay their deal closers a commission as she was not very convincing. I imagine they get poor folks in there who just want the ordeal over and pay the larger price, NOT ME I know when I'm being scammed and this girl isn't even very good at it. Aluminum Siding Salesmen. She tried to get me to make an appointment to do the procedure with the original lens that I placed the order with but I just left disgusted. Now that I have read the other horror stories about Woolfson Eye Institute on here I'm thrilled that they never touched my eyes. I was referred to Dr. Day at Woolfson by my optometrist after my glaucoma puff test results came back with moderately high eye pressure. Everything about the experience was great! Since they're "specialists" I expected a long wait all the way from the waiting room through the exam and checking out. This was definitely not the case! They called me back quickly, and I had one of the most thorough eye exams ever. I saw three different people while I was there--someone gave me an eye exam, someone else gave me the peripheral vision test and took a photo of my optic nerve, and then I met with Dr. Day to go over the results. Everyone I saw that day was fast, efficient and friendly. Dr. Day was great at answering my questions, and put my mind at ease. If you're having eye issues and need to see a specialist, I highly recommend Woolfson Eye Institute and Dr. Day. read more

I have tried several times to get someone at Woolfson to guide me as to which of their doctors would be the most appropriate for me to see. I have Fuchs' Dystrophy, a cornea disease, and need an ophthalmologist with the right training and experience treating it successfully. I sent a detailed request for that information to the practice manager of the group in February (two months ago) and never heard a word back. I called and spoke to people who answer the phone with the same request, no help there either. I guess they are busy enough they don't need new patients. That's okay, but they could at least be courteous and reply. read more
