The only reason I give it two stars is because the office staff was excellent. The doctor was not a corneal specialist, did not consult with one as promised, and did not follow the recommended treatment for my condition. I went to my specialist the following day because I was still experiencing pain. I'm now being treated appropriately and will not lose my eyesight. I'm sad that my concerns were not taken seriously by this doctor. I'm certain there was an underlying sexism and hostility there, and that I was not believed. Do not trust this business, they allow an amateur technician to test y eye pressure, poking my right eye that was 4 weeks after cataract surgery. She poked my eye 22 times before she got my pressure. After the numbness go away( medicated eye drops) my right eye was sore and nerves jumping, seeing floaters and Had to take pain killer to go to sleep. Was not able read or go outside for three days. When you address issue to the business. They just said sorry about your experience. I also have an appointment for another eyes surgery. Will cancel it and never go there anymore. read more

Communication and notification between the patient and the office, I had and appointment with Dr Chaknis and I received messages to confirm my appointment so I did but I got another message to confirm so I decided to call the office, when I called the person that I spoke with said that Dr Chaknis had left the office and was no longer there so I asked if there was another Doctor available because I was out of town and no one contacted me with this information and I had flown into town for this appointment. He said there was no other doctor available and that they had a lot of patients to contact, I told him that's not my problem and if I was to miss an appointment that they would charge me for missing the appointment. He called back later to say that another doctor could see me the next day which was not good because I had already left town. He just kept making excuses for why they didn't contact me earlier since they knew a week or two that Dr Chaknis had left. UNACCEPTABLE and Unfortunate!! read more

I saw Dr. Sajja on February 20, 2020. I was surprised at his lack of professionalism and concern. My appointment was at 8:15am. I saw a technician, who put me in a second waiting room. She told me that I'd have to remove my contacts when I saw the doctor, but she'd let me keep them in while I waited. At about 9:15, another patient complained that his 8:45am appointment was way past. "I've got an 8:15," I said. Almost immediately, this patient was called back to see the doctor. Why was I skipped? "You're a new patient," I was told, "and the doctor wants to spend more time with you." Really? Isn't that why I was here a half an hour before that patient? The doctor had a full 30 minutes he could've spent with me, if he'd actually been in the office -- but he wasn't even there when my appointment time began. When I finally saw the doctor, he was already in the exam room with his back to me. He didn't bother to greet me, introduce himself, or even apologize for running late. I told him that the tech said I needed to remove my contacts. "That's okay, we are going to leave them in," he said. The exam was pretty quick. It consisted of him administering several rounds of eye drops, and then taking photos of my eyelids. I had more drops put in my left eye than my right, but drops were put in both. He was clearly rushed. I told him that it had begun to feel like I couldn't focus correctly. This did not concern him. When he'd finished, Dr. Sajja gave a rapid-fire rundown of the surgery he advocated, barely pausing to take a breath. His explanation was so confusing, I thought he was wanting to operate on both of my eyes. He asked if I had questions, and I was able to ask two before he decided we were done. I was escorted out, back to the waiting room to wait for the scheduler to talk with me about surgery. After another 10 minute wait -- I'd been there over two hours -- I decided to leave. On my way home, I had trouble focusing. It was severe enough that I actually began to wonder if I shouldn't stop. When I got home, I saw that my left eye was VERY dilated. That was odd. He wasn't supposed to be dilating my eyes, and didn't tell me he was. (I've had retina surgery before, and have annual dilated exams. I'm familiar with that process.) Since there wasn't a plan to dilate my eyes, I became concerned. Could I be having some reaction to the medication? I called the office and spoke to a technician who said that Dr. Sajja doesn't dilate as part of that exam, but he'd follow up with the doctor and call me back. Two hours later, my left eye still widely dilated, I hadn't heard anything and called back. A second technician told me that she'd talked to the doctor, that he hadn't dilated my eyes, but that there might be some mild dilating effect from the drops he used. My reaction was much more than mild. I'm convinced that Dr. Sajja was in a rush and out of habit must've picked up the wrong drops to put in my eye, accidentally dilating it. It was further evidence for me that he simply didn't care about me as a patient. I was emailed by the scheduler, and responded to tell her why I wouldn't be trusting Dr. Sajja with my surgery. She was very kind, apologetic, and asked if I minded if the practice manager gave me a call about the issue. I was pleased with this. Later, the case manager called, and couldn't have been more rude. She said that they don't have these types of complaints about Dr. Sajja, and then continued to interrupt me as I tried to explain to her what happened in my exam. She also told me that she used to assist Dr. Sajja in this type of exam, and she knows that he told me that he was dilating my eyes before the exam (she wasn't even there!) This contradicts what two other technicians told me earlier in the day via phone about the medication he uses! Clearly she didn't know, or was simply trying to protect the practice. She even blamed me, saying that people with lighter eyes react more strongly to the dilating medication. This is indeed true, but shouldn't the doctor have told me that he was dilating my eyes, if that's what he did, I asked? She didn't have an answer. He told me the drops he administered worked on the muscles in my eyelids, not on my iris. Two technicians had already said that he didn't use a dilating drop. She had no response to this. She also refused to address my question about whether the doctor was even in the office when my appointment time began. She offered to refund the $50 copay I paid, as a courtesy, but 24 hours later, that still hasn't been done. I don't expect it will be. I have no doubt Dr. Sajja is technically competent. He didn't impress me at all with concern for the patient behind the eyes however, and that's why I won't trust him. I've scheduled a visit to a different doctor in a different practice. I won't be returning to Milan Eye Center or Dr. Sajja. I recommend you find somewhere else to go, too. read more

If you free time to waste, this is the place for you. I checked in 10 minutes early. Waiting for 40 minutes!!! and still don't call my name. people come after me and they are being called right in. And I'm paying out of pocket for a surgery with no insurance. Take your money somewhere else where they value your time. read more

Milan Eye Center in Johns Creek was an excellent experience for me. It was easy to get an appointment. They sent me the forms to fill out on line. My wait time was short. I had multiple tests that were the most comprehensive I have experienced. Plus, Dr. Patel suggested a solution to my eyes watering in the spring. I will return next year. read more

Rude, Unprofessional, Unhinged, yelling, slamming door doctor! Would give 0 stars if possible. Milan performed my cataract surgery last year. I was there for a medical appointment unrelated to my surgery to rule out my eyes being the issue for a medical problem I was experiencing. The unhinged doctor would not see me after I had been waiting for an hour. Said I needed to see my doctor but my doctor (surgeon) was not there. When I tried to inquire about when "my" doctor would be there, he became increasingly nasty and rude answering with "I DON'T KNOW! After the third "I DON'T KNOW", I asked if he could go and find out. Mind you, I took off work, on my lunch hour, drove 25 minutes to get there and had been waiting for an hour. The doctor stormed off angry and slammed the door. Then came back out when I asked who was in charge. He said "I AM!". What a poor display of leadership. I told him I was filing a complaint against him, he was rude, and had a nasty attitude. The Executive Director asked me into her office and I explained how I was treated. While I was sitting in the Executive Director's office filing a complaint, the unhinged doctor called the police! Lied and said I was yelling, cursing, and refused to leave! This is called "Visiting a doctor WHILE BLACK!" I guess he thought he would humiliate me or endanger me by wasting tax payer dollars calling the police. And...providing false information to a Policer Officer is a CRIME!!! To date I have not heard one word from Milan or my surgeon! Crickets! Also, the technician there, told me my symptoms were indicative of a brain tumor! Me, a 2x cancer survivor! Who does that?!! And yes, I have filed 2 complaints with the medical boards. read more

While visiting family and hundreds of miles from home, I woke up with a terrible pain in my left eye. We were gearing up for a week out on the beach and this was the last thing I wanted to deal with. Unfortunately, it was Sunday. On a whim, I called on Yelp to get me to an eye care clinic. With my good eye I fumbled around on my phone and called several nearby doctors only to get answering machines telling me to call back during regular business hours. Then I called Milan Eye Center and, ceding all hope, left a message for the "on call" doctor, even though I'd hate to qualify my discomfort as a real emergency. Within 30 minutes I got a call from Dr. Patel. After firing off a few quick questions about my symptoms, he told me he could meet me in the office in an hour. Not at all what I was expecting, but this man cut short his weekend plans to open up the office for a total stranger. And one who forgot his insurance card at home, no less. After a quick visit and diagnosis, Dr. Patel called in my prescription which was ready within minutes. After a few days the pain and redness had receded and I was able to enjoy the rest of my vacation. If he is working to build a practice, this is certainly the way to do it. I only wish more practices like this existed closer to home. Very refreshing in an era of remote interactions with patients. read more

I waited 1 hour and 20 min after my appointment time, Staff was nice and doctor was very good and apologized for how screwed they were after moving. Computers and equipment were not not set up properly and resulted in my loss of confidence in the quality of exam. Hopefully they will get their act together. My primary care doctor recommended Dr. Patel when I told him I wanted to get my eye fixed. I am very pleased with the care I received from Dr. Milan Patel and his staff. I had outpatient surgery to remove a pterygium on 10/27. This was my second experience with eye surgery (previous procedure was done in Seattle, WA two years ago). Dr. Patel was very patient explaining the technique he recommended and how it differed from my previous surgery. Post surgery, he quickly responded to my email questions and provided his cell number in case I had any issues or concerns over the weekend with my post-op recovery. The waiting area at his office is spacious and comfortable. The staff is courteous and friendly. read more

When visiting an optometrist for new glasses, he discovered a serious issue with my eyes that could have eventually blinded me. He recommended that I see Dr Patel at Milan Eye Center. The fix was very simple which was to laser a small hole in each eye and I was positive that I would not be ready to do that at this time. That was before I met Dr Patel on a consult. All my fears were put to rest and we begin the 2 part procedure the following Monday. Dr. Patel is great and he knows exactly what he is doing. I cannot imagine anyone more knowledgeable or with a better manner than him. Needless to say, everything went beautifully. read more
