It's so awesome! The kids love it and even adults have fun!! I do have to say there isn't much for the real little kids. It's just got one little train with a small slide and for some reason my daughter just isn't into it. But by next spring she'll be big enough for some other things and she'll be more entertained. This place also has swings, trucks to dig in a sand pit and some big slides and things to climb.

The park is comprised of a rather nice, small lake, a pond, a boardwalk, several wooded stretches and some farm land. I did not get a chance to go to the Visitor Center, but it looked quite nice. Horseback riding facilities are also available and there are some picnic pavilions that are rather nicely kept. I visited for the first time on a nice crisp early spring evening to take an hour hike. There are four trails of varying lengths. There is a short trail that just traverses the lake for about 3/4 mile. The remaining trail lengths are 1.5, 1.8 and 3.4 miles, respectively. I chose the 1.8-mile trail since I had a short time before park closing. The terrain, scenery and air were invigorating and certainly beat using a treadmill. I'll look forward to the chance to take the longest trail at some point in the future and perhaps also to visit the Visitor Center. It's a great place to collect one's thoughts.

SO MUCH to see/do here that you'll need several visits (at least!!) to even scratch the surface. There's so much to see/do every season, it's tough to know where to start... Bike, fish, hike, picnic, take zillions of pictures, watch for deer and other "residents," and more!! Be sure to view the MASSIVE dam, it's impressive!! Don't miss seeing what there is to see at all of the separate entrances, definitely something for EVERYONE!! Next time, I'm bringing my bike!! Enjoy!!

Starting from an access trail next to the dam, we went counter clockwise , linking the yellow and orange trails. We probably did not get the full "experience" since we were there in the winter when the leaves were off the trees and the river level was low-ish. I am looking forward to coming back in other seasons. Two words of warning: Remember that the trails can be muddy due snowmelt, even if the snow has been gone for a few days. Saw several people out there today whose originally white sneakers are probably a few shades of darker brown now. Also, mud will be thicker and deeper down near the river where soil will have been pushed down the river during previous floods.

Grooming -- Influx of unpaid road and pave road out balance them selves. Elevation -- None. Scenery -- very picturesque type atmosphere, lots of nature, around us, such as trees, and vegetation. Family Orientated -- definitely family orientated, easy enough to bring your dog and/or small children. Populated -- usually not very populated due to the proximity of the area off the major highway. Although in the summertime and towards the spring, obviously it will get more and more crowded although it's not unbearable. 10/10

There's plenty of bike paths and trails. It has a few ways to get in. It has an entrance off Union Road which is good if you're on a bike. There's lots of bike trails here. If you go further on the road, you get to the main entrance. This has a good parking lot. It also is the most beautiful area. The best part is the lake, which is fun for pets. It's one of the best Metroparks. It has lots of bike paths connecting to the Ohio bike trail. You can also find other places to walk.

This park is a new favorite of ours. It's big and has lots to do. Also, a different selection of…read morestructures than we've found on other playgrounds. Probably the most unique thing is what my husband calls the zip line. I've frequently found the handle bar you hang from and whiz across a level bar about 7 ft. Long. This is a similar idea. But instead of a handle bar, there is a long pole with a circular seat at the bottom. This seat hangs about a foot and a half from the ground. Depending on height, size, age, ability you can decide to either sit or stand on this seat. My two year old boy sat on it with no problem. But considering my large belly getting in the way, I decided to stand. Anyway, this thing is twice as long as any other I've seen! And it's like a very wide "V" shape. So it gives to momentum in the first half to make it back up through the second. So fun!! Other unique attractions include a SUPER long slide (not actually very steep, but at the top of a hill and quite long - some families bring paper to sit on in order to slide faster), statues of large turtles and one of those large disc swings. Such a fun place! I take my boy here when we're in the area.

You can park and enter off of Frederick Pike (farmhouse) or off Aullwood Road off of Route 4 (Education Center). I had limited time, but did make it about 3/4 of the way around the main trail, with stops along the way to take pictures. Wonderful, varied scenery, varied terrain, and VERY scenic!! This old quarry has been "repurposed" and is a great spot to "get away from it all" without going too far. A good-sized lake, a few easy to moderate trails (the rocky lake overlooks are nice!!) and plenty of parking are what you'll find. No, not the best trail markings/maps, but if I figured it out, anyone can!! A great spot to discover in Greene County, I'll be back!!
