Five stars for the ladies who man the front desk - they are super helpful and always pleasant to interact with, even when I checked out at 4:30am. However, can't say I'm a huge fan of the hotel itself. The standard room is very small, and while clean, feels outdated. The shower at least in my room wasn't well designed in that it was really easy for water to get out when you're showering (resulting in quite a lot of water on the floors). Add that to the fact that it's quite raised / requires one put forth some effort to step into the tub, unless you're tall, just felt like it would be easy to fall! Despite being located near lots of big tourist destinations, the hotel location is quiet at night. This is normally a good thing but with a construction site across the street and the road it's on being pretty small/quiet/dark at night, it was a little scary to walk back alone as a girl (at least in my head- in reality hopefully it was pretty safe). There's also no gym in this location (guests do have access in theory/ could go to thistle Piccadilly for a gym which supposedly is like a 5min walk from this hotel, but that extra effort killed my interest in working out ha). Overall not a bad experience, but also not a good one. I'd come back if I didn't find anything better, but would also certainly look for better next time I'm in London. read more
