This is a sleek and modern hotel! The room we had with 2 beds was huge. Lots of space. The bathroom was sizable as well and had a large tub! The service was really good. I was escorted to my room and a staff member showed me all the ammenities. They had a ghd hair straightener and Dyson hair dryer!! They delivered my bags to the room. We had champagne on arrival! The onsite restaurant Luciano's was solid. Great central location. A short walk to Covent Garden. It was a wonderful stay. I recommend it. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at ME by Melia. Location was perfect, very close to Covent Garden, Chinatown, tons of cafés, restaurants, shows, and more. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly employee who escorted us to the reception area and provided a glass of champagne. Our room was bigger than we expected as we had been used to smaller European hotel rooms while traveling. Even though we faced a busy street, the noise level was very minimal. The location is one of the best in London. Close to Trafalgar Square and Leicester. The underground is close by, as are all of the theaters. Very close to a number of pubs and restaurants. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. We arrived tired and jet lagged around 3 pm. The woman at the front desk indicated that she had no idea how long it would be for our room to be ready and offered us an upgrade (at $90 per room, per night) to the 9th floor with a balcony. We tried to nap but the rooftop bar is right above your head so that you know you will clearly hear loud music every night during your stay. We asked to be moved back to our original rooms and they did so. Breakfast was included in our room rate, but everyday was a different disaster, from a runny, undercooked omlette to forgetting to put in one of our orders to running out of orange juice to having to ask four times for coffee. It was not just one breakfast, but the staff seemed to be in total disarray every day. read more

This is a great example of customer service turning a poor experience into a positive one and what would have become a bad review into a favourable one. My husband and I arrived into London tired from travelling. We had spent several days in Lisbon Portugal and had almost two weeks of travel prior to that behind us. We had a show booked that night. The hotel's first impression is positive and the smell is delightful. We had a lovely evening at the musical "Tina" (Amazing!) but then the difficulty began. We wanted to go to sleep and the thermostat was at 24. Very hot. My husband had set it for 18 when we left for dinner and it didn't budge. The engineer came and said the person staying the night previously had also complained about the heat and they gave them a fan. unacceptable! Fix the air or move us please It's after 11pm now and we are exhausted after all the travelling and the show. The engineer argued with us and said it would cool off. He came back in 20 minutes and said he fixed it. He didn't. An hour later he came back again and it had moved UP hotter. They said they would move us in the morning. A few sleepless sweaty hours later my husband says wake up it's 8am on the thermostat in the room I'll make coffee on the nespresso machine ( huge plus) and we'll change rooms. He calls and speaks to the manager and she assures him they will move us. I'm so shaky but start packing up drinking coffee and getting ready. 45 minutes later I'm on Google looking at the stock market and it seems wrong. I google London time and it's 6am. We've been up over 45 minutes but the room clock said 845am and my phone said 545am. What?! Apologies again air conditioning broken and clock wrong. Anyway At breakfast a lovely young woman named Esperanza, an Aura Host, stopped by so apologetic and later even sent gifts from the hotel. Stuff happens and when people take responsibility for it that's all that matters. Yes they moved our room and gave us a free dinner at a lovely steakhouse. All is forgiven. read more

WORST LONDON HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! - and I spend over 200 nights a year in hotels due to my work... And most of my reviews are very positive since that's how I see life. :-) I won't give anything more than a 1-star review to a hotel which is being run by people who don't have a shred of empathy for their clients/fellow-humans and they only care keeping our money without offering us any service. We were planning to stay here for 2 nights a few weeks ago. Sadly, a few days before our stay, my father passed and we had to postpone our trip to London to attend his funeral in Greece. We contacted the hotel to explain our extraordinary circumstances. They didn't really care much and they were not willing to give us the option to use our two fully paid nights for a future stay that worked for us. We were even happy to pay for the price difference in case the new dates cost more than our original reservation. But no, your father dies and you can't come, you lose your money. Simple. Yes, business is business, I get that. But we were not asking for any big favors or any kind of discount. We were just asking to be given the chance to use what we had already paid a lot of money for. (FYI Ethical business-running is the best marketing a company can do in 2023.) read more

There's probably no one "perfect" location to book a hotel in London - there are so many things to see that it's hard to find something that it truly central to the highlights - but the Me Hotel (or is it Melia? I really don't know) located in the Covent Garden / West End area comes pretty close. Past experiences with European hotels has taught me to expect small, cozy rooms and even smaller bathrooms. When searching for a place to stay in London, I wanted a place that was a little more spacious, and this one came up. It was far, far more expensive than any other hotel that I've stayed at in my entire life, but after two years of having our travels thwarted by Covid, I was willing to splurge. The entrance to the hotel takes you past the concierge desk and the funky, modern lounge. The concierge walked us to the elevators and up to reception on the first floor (my fellow Americans would refer to it as the second floor, of course). The reception lobby was stunning - an atrium reaching high above us, with a sealife-themed light show on the walls. We got checked in and were given a complimentary glass of prosecco, and then went our rooms. The rooms were indeed large; one room had a king bed and the other had two twins, all with extra pillows and soft bedding. Each room had a small table and two chairs by the window which looked out over the theatres across the street. The bathrooms were bright and warm; the rain shower was especially enjoyed. The towels were oversized and the amenities were high quality. Complimentary coffee, tea, and bottled water was available in the room. We liked playing around with the LED lighting options - I particularly liked the purple hue. With regard to service, this place is tough to beat. We had turndown service every evening, which was basically like a second housekeeping with bottles of water and chocolates placed on the bedside tables. The concierge was able to get us Friday night reservations for a nearby restaurant after we had struck out in our attempts to secure dining arrangements. Recommendations for activities, pastries, meat pies, and even a place to get tested for Covid prior to departure were always available. Everyone seemed genuinely interested in ensuring that our stay was perfect. Alas, not everything went according plan. Upon arrival, my kids detected a dampness in the carpet, but we just assumed that someone had spilled some water. After spending three nights in that room, we discovered that there was, in fact, a seepage of water from the bathroom into the living area, creating a musty odor. We contacted the front desk staff, and within minutes they came to our rooms and acknowledged the problem. The manager on duty immediately set about moving us out of the affected room. He offered us a bottle of champagne for our trouble, which we declined, but when we asked if they could send up some light snacks, they gave us an immediate 50% discount, but at checkout they removed the charge altogether. Very nice. Ah, the location. The hotel is conveniently located to a couple Underground Stations, including the Covent Garden station with a train that goes all the way to Heathrow. The Charing Cross station is also a very short walk away. But for us, we had no need for any public transit, as we were able to walk everywhere - Buckingham Palace, Churchill War Rooms, Westminster Abbey, Tate Modern, British Museum, Tower of London, Borough Market, National Gallery. Some of these are a little farther away - the Tower of London is about 2 miles from the hotel, but it's a easy stroll if you're not in a hurry. The bottom line is that you'll see a lot of London from simply going out the front door of the hotel and then choosing a direction in which to walk. So, this was an excellent experience, even with the inconvenience of the room change. It was very expensive, but entirely worth it for us. read more

The front desk staff was very accommodating when we checked in at 1000 and had a room ready. We had a bottle of champagne delivered the 1st night, 2nd night we had a bottle of wine & snacks waiting in our room--no charge. I ordered room service 2x. 1st time it was delivered within 15min! Fish & chips were excellent. We had drinks in the rooftop (Radio). Drinks were excellent and the view was great. Nice restaurant. Spent ten perfect nights here in June. I loved our suite, even though it was only on the second floor the layout was really cool (room211) and way more spacious than I usually get in London. It had a huge super fun bathtub and a large walk in shower. The bedroom was four steps down from the foyer so not accessible if your in a wheelchair unfortunately but really neat, oval room with a large firm and comfortable bed. We had a separate seating area that worked great for entertaining. Two fully stacked mini bars that I would rename to midi-bars because they had so much good high quality items. It was also restocked daily. Your room was refreshed twice a day and the staff was super helpful with everything we needed thru out our stay. Our daughters stayed in 209 and that was a really nice room as well, fun people watching from the little table by the window and a large enough bathroom counter for two girls total make up sets! A special shout out to Anna who checked us in Victor who was so very helpful showing us around in the hotel, room functions and helping with taxis and luggage, and Emiliano who can help you find the best dining in town, what great ambassadors for the ME hotel brand. The service team giving you daily treats as surprises and swiftly attending whatever needs you might have also deserves an applause. The only bad experience we had was trying to visit the roof top bar. The staff was really rude and then they placed us outside in a corner where there were no heaters, no music and no people, far away from every one else, really strange and so unnecessary stuck up. We did not have a reservation, but there were so many empty tables both inside and outside, I guess we were just not cool enough? We had dinner last night at STK in the hotel as well and that was great, our server Danielle was fast and fun and got every detail right and the food was fantastic. I love the ME hotel chain the management and staff are always excellent and go above and beyond. ME London was no exception I mentioned via email the one night we would be staying there was a special occasion and they brought in chocolates and a special note to the room. Excellent touch!! This hotel is uber modern and has a seemless space age decor that I personally love. The rooms themselves are extremely soundproof so no matter what floor you are on you won't hear anything. All the amenities throughout the room are what you would expect of a 5 star hotel. In additional to the hotel is has a nice 1st level bar, 2 restaurants and a rooftop bar. All are worth checking out. The rooftop bar fell a little flat. Found them. To be a bit rude and pompous and we got stuck in a corner by the door. But still worth a drink. Overall I will continue to book and recommend ME hotels. read more

This hotel is definitely a "wow" hotel- from check in to check out. The "lobby" is just flat out awesome with sleek white coaches and a light show on the walls...and prosecco on ice. There is an STK located on the street level and a rooftop bar as well, both of which are great for pre or post dinner drinks! The room was large for a European/big city room and had fantastic amenities! The bed and linen were also great, I did not want to leave then! There is a small table with a floor to ceiling window, great for coffee or cocktails. Closet, coffee nook and mini-bar/snacks for purchase. The room has robes and slippers, as well as turn down service. I would also be remiss if I didn't mention the staff which are very accommodating and helpful throughout the stay. And to add to all this the location couldn't be better!!! read more

I want to give them 5 stars so much but I just can't. The hotel is really nice, the staff is awesome. The location is top notch for sight-seeing. But the one major issue was the rooms were very stuffy. They need fans desperately. We went during the first week of September and it was rather warm in London. The thermostat would never go below 24 Celsius even though I had it set much lower. On top of that the air was stagnant. The staff was gracious enough to give us a suite for the first night (although it was a similar issue in a much larger room) The next day we moved into a smaller room, but during the day we bought some desk fans. Those did the trick. The only other time I had this issue recently was in Copenhagen. Both hotels you could not open the windows so you are kind of stuck. I still recommend this hotel, but do not go in warm months and / or bring a fan. read more

I really enjoyed our stay at the ME London. We were able to check in early - which was greatly appreciated. Our room was on the first level but tucked away so that you didn't feel unsafe. The rooftop bar provides amazing views of the city. Cocktails and breakfast the next morning were fantastic, but service was a little but wonky. My only complaint was that the concierge staff gave me the wrong station to get to the harry potter tour. Luckily, I ended up close to the correct one. Definitely reccomend staying here for any stay in London. read more

I just came back from an amazing trip from London. It was my first time there and my travel agency booked a 3 night stay at the ME London hotel. I was residing in the Junior Suite and the room was BEAUTIFUL! Right when you walk in, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone is smiling and they even personally escort you to your rooms. If you ever have any questions as to where to eat, where to exchange currency or even what to do in London; you will have plenty of suggestions offered by the staff. Whenever I needed assistance in my room, I never had to wait any longer than 5 mins before someone would arrive to resolve the issue. The amenities at the hotel are GREAT too! We also ordered room service and we were unaware that some of the drinks (i.e. smoothies) were not included in the breakfast that the travel agency had provided for us. The manager of the hotel immediately waived the charges and even brought us tea/coffee + smoothies to make up for any confusion! When I sat in the lounge area to make a few phone calls back home, the bartender asked what I wanted to drink. I was craving an unsweetened ice tea as it was not a popular beverage in the UK. He immediately offered to create his own version and then even provided me with complimentary corn nuts on the side so that I could enjoy my time there. I can't describe how great this hotel truly is and the service is top notch. I would definitely return as I was treated like royalty. Highly recommend! read more

We'd booked an extra day due to the time difference showing us incorrect dates--when I called to remove the extra day from our reservation, the man over the phone was both rude and impatient, telling me that I can only add nights to the reservation, but cannot remove any. He says once the payment is submitted, there is no way in their system they can refund any portion of it. They have terrible policies and customer service, I would not recommend booking this hotel. The room had a private balcony, awesome views, the best shower room of my life, and awesome mood lighting. The service was wonderful, not only did the guy assure us that we would love our room, but we were pampered with doormen who took our suitcases, and served us complimentary champagne from our first step inside. The front door guy got to know us, and he was full of tips for things to do and of course suggested the roof top happy hour. I wish we would have stayed in London longer to stay at this hotel. The location was also perfect. We walked to the British Museum (and plenty of pubs on the way), went out in Convent Garden, took the subway to the airport, and had the big bus tour stop right outside the door. 100% recommended read more

I'm going to start off by saying that it gives me great displeasure to write a negative review about any business, but this is one of those rare instances where it is necessary. My wife and I stayed here on New Years day, the last night of an amazing trip in the U.K. to visit friends and family. All was well until I discovered that there was several hundred dollars missing from my passport wallet that I left next to the bed, while we were at dinner. The hotel has conducted an "investigation" and acknowledged that a housekeeper had indeed entered our room to turn down the bed at the time we were at dinner, but concluded that there was no theft or accountability on their part, because the housekeeper simply said that it didn't happen and I must have misplaced it. I am certain that it was taken at this time, because prior to leaving for dinner I had put it in there and counted it. The whole time I was on holiday, I never exchanged any dollars to pounds because the rates were much better withdrawing from ATM's. I would never accuse someone of something like this unless I was absolutely sure. Not all the money was taken, I'm guessing just enough so that I wouldn't notice it. Even if the housekeeper didn't take it, someone did, and it's the hotels responsibility for making sure their guests rooms are secure. I've gone back and forth a few times stating my claim with their head of security and then the general manager, and in response I get generic, robotic answers denying any wrong doing. In all my years I've never experienced anything like this. Obviously, for only a few hundred dollars it's not really worth pursuing this any further or spending anymore time writing emails to the general manager just to be insultingly dismissed. I just felt I needed to to tell others about my experience at the ME London and warn them of what goes on here and what this "5" star staff is really all about behind the fake smiles and false customer service. With all the other classy 5 star places in London to choose from, why would anyone want to have to deal with something like this? The location was central to all of London! We're we happy that are air conditioning was not working when we checked in, of course not. I called the front desk and was assisted by the manager named Emma who apologized and went above and beyond by upgrading us to a larger room/suite and also surprising us with a bottle of Moët which I call "the bubbles"! The lobby is a fashionable experience with a light show in the evening (8-9:00?) and they top you off with prosecco sparkling wine while checking inn. The concierge is accommodating and caring. Now for the Radio Rooftop Bar and Restaurant located on the 10th floor was an experience of its own kind. Highly recommended going there for a drink or two and taking in all the breathtaking views! Summary: Choose if you don't care about being close to the businesses areas and want to have effortless nightlife. It's all about the roof top lounge Radio (see review). I could see having a conference/seminar here as there are several options for drinks afterwards.For the NYers, this is comparable to the Gansevort Hotel in feel. The location: As this is my first time in London, I'm learning that the SE end of Convent Garden is not the most convenient or the touristy for the business traveler, as most might prefer to stay in Mayfair or Kensington. That said, it's removed enough from that nonsense to be quite a different and pleasant experience. I love that it's close to the Sanctuary Spa. As most check in in this city is 3pm and most Americans are landing early in the morning, this is the perfect spot to sleep off your jet lag and still feel you've done something... if you're a lady, as it's a very short stroll away (lady's only). If you're a dude... sorry... haven't been here long enough yet to figure out a nice solution for you. For joggers: Great runs available along the Thames. There is actually a running store extremely close by in case you forgot to bring gels or blocks. They will not have chocolate though. Something weird I found was that all the brands that sell chocolate in the states don't do so overseas, except for Gu..... Odd..... Amenities: The basement, windowless gym downstairs few treadmills and similar equipment. There is no on-sight spa facility, but the Sanctuary Spa (on Floral Street) is likely the best bet. This place is all about the bar options. The rooftop has lovely 360 views and requires a fairly long wait. Guests have advantages, though it can be rough on the truly busy nights. Reception has a lovely little meeting bar and the walls light up to make you feel as if you're inside an aquarium. The downstairs bar appears to be quiet happening until late in the evening. The entry way bar is fantastic as well if you're meeting a large group of friends or clients. WiFi works well in the hotel and is fairly hassle free. No silly charge or anything. The rooms: I got upgraded to a vibe room. The look is quite modern. I love the padded leather walls and sleep modern furnishings. The windows are quite modern and overlook lovely views. Quarters are a bit tight, but to be expected... I think. The linens are extremely comfy. I love the large king size feather pillows. They really do have just the right fluff. The sheets are clearly higher thread count. I always like white linens as you know if "something" happened and mine were quite clean. The one thing that is a bit odd is the electric plugs. So in the bathroom, the plugs appeared not to be able to accept the larger energy output of a hair dryer or curling iron. Instead, I came out to the bedroom area and did this activity in front of the desk mirror. On the one hand, this isn't so bad because the lighting is actually better there for make-up etc. However, if you're using this as a work desk then it's a bit of a hassle to also turn it into a vanity. this also indicates that a dude designed the bathroom in the vibe rooms, e.g. the light is not ideal for putting on make-up. The showers are nice... but alas, no tub in the vibe rooms. As a jogger who also found London to be cold this was a drawback. However, if you are more a shower person, the shower is a really nice, high end zero gravity overhead type, so you should be happy. I like the use of Apivita products. It's particularly awesome that they have a facial milk cleanser that works as an eye make-up remover. Huge bonus to have legitimate stuff to use on your face. Service: The rooms are well kept with a nice chocolate during turn down. While maid services does a good job cleaning and generally tidying, they don't take that extra step that some of the highest end 5 star places do. At some places, the maids are OCD and will even tidy your make-up neatly as if it were a store display. Same thing with any papers on a desk or items on a table. Oddly, my maid at home does this and I love it! Here, it's more just leaving your stuff as you left it, with minor pick-up and cleaning of trash. I would mention the concierge, porters and reception were quite amazing. It's a bit hard to call down and get in touch with them though during the busiest bar hours as they end up taking a ton of calls for reservations upstairs. That's a little annoying, but if you go downstairs and find them they are lovely. Worth a stay if you're visiting alone and this happens to work as a location for your purposes. read more

Although the exterior of this building is lovely, it is the interior that puts all else to shame. From the moment you face the front doors, you are greeted and your needs are being catered to by helpful, friendly staff members. Upon entering ME, you become drenched in a permanent state of visual euphoria; the main desk where you check-in/check-out is difficult to put into words, but I can easily say it is one of the most impressive works of art I've had the pleasure of witnessing with my own eyes as well as been able to walk into. After you take the elevator to your floor, you are exposed to the dim beckoning glow of the hallway, leading you all the way to your vibrant livable-luxurious room. ME hotel offers luxuries i hadn't yet known I wanted, so it is safe to say you will leave a changed person. Just when you feel like you've already had an unforgettable experience at the ME by simply walking to your room, you find that you have only just begun once you visit the luscious restaurant and bar located at the top of the hotel, Radio Rooftop. It is bursting with greenery and life, and boasts breathtaking 360 views of London - the staff went above and beyond: they served an incredible breakfast, with a side of the most pristine customer service. To put my review in context I am a sucker for a luxury hotel. I don't cheap out. I'm willing to pay and I don't whine about price. I'm always working remotely so wifi and a nice desk matter. **if you're sensitive to pets or have allergies or need to work I suggest reading my entire review - especially at the end A friend who lives in London recommended this hotel and two others. This hotel is on the fine hotels list with American Express, which means you get a $75 credit for your stay for incidentals and a room upgrade. I should point out that to my knowledge, the room upgrade did not occur. Room is exactly what I booked. I know they have openings because they are still online with open rooms. I did inquire at the front desk and the gentleman kept repeating "we have you in a lovely..." If I were not by myself I would have gotten a bit more aggressive about this to get a larger room and 180 view like Amex said would happen. I am not impressed by things like Prosecco when you arrive, so I won't be commenting on things I think every 4-5 star hotel should pretty much do but instead on differentiators. Pros: Comfortable bed. Robe. Slippers. Lots and lots of space for luggage and hanging garments. In my room there is a lovely little table in a want to be balcony area with a view of the city that is perfect for breakfast in the morning Very well-stocked minibar Perfect separate desk with a comfortable chair Wonderful shower and large bathroom Great toiletries. Linens are nice. Good aircon Ability to order an in room massage or facial through a third-party. It's quite pricey but they are OK. I expect that in France, but with so many to choose from and a sports channel in Portugal being on the list, I'm kind of surprised they don't have CNN international. I cannot for the life of me find the media center to hook up my iPad, and no one in the hotel seems to know either. It's mentioned in their in-room note. They chose a hotel hairdryer that doesn't actually work in the bathroom socket. Kind of baffling. You have to take it into the room. The "follow me" lighting is annoying. I actually want my desk to be lit up even if I'm not sitting there so I can look for specific things coming in on my computer! The entire lighting system throughout the room is very confusing. The panel is easy, but the light switches don't always turn on and off the things that they did just half an hour ago. High tech is cool, lacking usability is not Read my separate review about radio. The Internet is absolutely crazy slow. It is free, so many people say you can't complain, I say that isn't true. I would prefer a paid option where actually can work quickly! And most importantly of all... I am allergic to cats. Very very allergic. Ironically, I am staying here instead of at my friends house because he has a cat. The minute I walked into the room, I had the itchy eyes and painful jaw feeling... Like there was a cat in the room. Exact same feeling - and it SMELLS like cats in the halls and the room. I called downstairs and reception confirmed no cat had been in my room recently. It's obviously in the filtration system. They are a pet friendly hotel (if I had known this I never would've come to this hotel). Changing rooms would have been useless. I can smell it in the hallways. People. If you're going to have a pet friendly hotel you absolutely have to change the filters like every couple of weeks. Tell people with allergies not to come here. I have been double dosing on medication to avoid scratching my eyes out. The two massage therapists that have come into my room have mentioned the same thing- The cat odor. I don't know what it is, if it's deodorant on the carpet or what, but it smells like cat boxes. I love many pieces of this hotel and it is romantic and sexy like others say, but I won't be coming back strictly because of the allergies. It's miserable. Slow internet isn't helping. read more

Absolutely loved this hotel! Was taken here for a night as a surprise. First, I have to start with the décor, absolutely fab! Really slick and chic, modern but not cold. The reception is on the first floor, and has a really cool digital image wall, and you are greeted with a glass of Champagne. The corridors are quite dark, but not closed and very spacious. The rooms are in keeping with the ME style, having recently stayed at the ME hotel in Madrid. Very minimalist. The mini bar is spread over cool shelves and drawers and a fridge, with a great selection of items, including miniature Chambord and a sleeping kit. The rooms have a really cool switch for lighting moods to change the ambiance. The beds are one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in! Firm but cosy and soft! The bathroom is a good size, with a huge power shower and two sinks and super clean! The bathroom products and towels are also great. There are several bars in the hotel and the well known Steak restaurant! I only went to the restaurant after I got back from an evening out for a late night drink, but the atmosphere was very good, it was busy and had a good selection of drinks! This hotel fails at customer service plain and simple. Backstory is this, we unintentionally wound up stuck in London(there was a British airways IT issues that grounded all flights, and we picked this hotel last minute based on good reviews and availability. The hotel itself is very sleek and modern, and our room was nice, but then again we paid $700. With that said there were a couple issues with the room (the TV just started blaring noise in the middle of the night, and the fire alarm went off every time we showered), not too big of a deal in and of itself I know these things can happen. The problem actually occurred when we actually tried to bring these issues to the staff. In particular, the manager, Dimitri Ciglio, was the most unprofessional human I have ever interacted with at a hotel. Here are the details: 1. He asked to come search our room after we complained. The only time this has ever happened is when we were in Vegas. I get that there are probably a lot of young brats that frequent this hotel(since people with actual standards would probably stay away) but we are not those people. 2. Rather than acknowledging that there may have been some issues he said he need to "review the videotapes." Could he have at least stated that something may have happened? Guess not. 3. Later on that day he called me and told me that there were "inconsistencies in our stories" and he recommended that we leave and the hotel would not charge us. Wow nice, did I mention that we were stuck in London? Not once did this manager acknowledge the situation, rather his only goal seemed to be to let us know how wrong and stupid we were. He actually told me the issue was that I did not know how to press the red power button on the TV remote. Meanwhile I am a damn physician pretty sure I know how to use a TV remote. Bottom line is that this hotel fails at the primary goal of any high class hotel, which is providing great customer care and a pleasant experience. I'm not really one to complain about hotels but this was actually the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We stayed at 3 other hotels during our trip to Europe(La Bastide de Gordes, Chateau de Chevre' d'Or, and Hotel the Serras) and all those places are real luxury places that know how to treat their customers. I think if you're a 20 something party animal that needs a nice room to snort a bunch of blow in and have sex with prostitutes this place fits the bill. But if you're looking for genuine luxury I would avoid this place at all costs. read more

Fantastic stay!!! We just got back from our 6 night stay at ME London! We absolutely loved the hotel and every experience we had there. We chose the ME London because we got married at a ME property back in 2009...we were sold on the ME brand. The hotel is in a GREAT location! We only took cabs at night when I was in high heels and preferred not to walk. Otherwise, we walked to ALL of the tourist sites and restaurants we cared to. The staff is superb from the moment you arrive on property. The smell is lovely and the decor is very modern and pleasing. Our room was much larger than I anticipated after having read some reviews on other sites. The bathroom was large enough for 2 of us to get ready without bumping into each other. The lighting was awesome and all functions of the room were easy to use. During our stay, we ate at the Italian restaurant, STK, and room service...and frequented the Radio rooftop bar mutliple times. Everything was phenomenal. The night/morning we ordered room service we were a bit intoxicated and forgot to hang our phone up. The room service guy came all the way to our room to clarify one portion of our order before placing it...he was so nice about it, too!!! The few negatives: 1) The paint on the bedroom walls at the entry was chipped in places and some spots were just poorly painted over...wouldn't expect that from a new hotel. 2) The hallways are SOOOOO hot! Probably not an issue in the winter months, but during our stay we had some warm days. 3) The shower was a bit funky. They floor boards in the shower slide to allow the water to flow underneath to the drain. I don't think the underneath portion gets cleaned too often as you could sometimes see yucky stuff and there was a frequent smell of fish in the shower. That's it, though! Horrible staff service very passive aggressive. All of them. And not just to me! Really unwelcoming and unhelpful. Well never stay there again. Almost ruined my and my partners night. As for other things the rooms are really small and the food is really simple. You'd kind of think that in a 5 star hotel they won't serve the steak with catchup on the side. All hotels are not the same. This place excels because of the staff alone. Extremely accommodating and always willing to help. Excellent location to the underground all the sites, musical venues and of course covent gardens and soho. Can't beat it for room comfort and of course the rooftop venue. And price was very affordable. Easily choose this place again. read more

We stayed here for 3 nights and really loved it! The rooftop bar is amazing and stk is next door. It was great to have everything so close when we were jet-lagged. The room was cozy, clean and the staff was helpful. A tip-cabs are 80-90pounds to this area. Take the train. read more

From my first step in to walking into my newly upgraded suite...this hotel deserves more than 5 stars. Not only were we greeted as we got out of the taxi, but showered with champagne at the reception check in. Then we walked into our upgraded candle-lit suite surprised with a bottle of champagne I cannot be more swept off my feet. Now this is more my style, the swanky London style I was hoping for. I didn't expect much for a single room in that town based on what I had heard, but I guess "they" don't know about ME London! Upon entering the hotel, you can see the chic lobby and lounge area, which I agree, is a bit reminiscent of Vegas, but I like it. I made my way up the lift (a nice modern one, and key card is necessary to go up) to the first floor where I checked in and was given a complimentary glass of prosecco (which I took to my room). You had me at the bubbles. My bag was then taken to my room and when I walked in...whoa. Ultra modernity at its best. A nice hallway led to the main part of the bedroom. On the right was the bathroom (which has sliding doors you can use to close it off), including a double-sinked vanity, separate toilet room, and separate shower with an amazing rainshower head and a hand shower, so you can get tag-teamed. On the left was a carved out valet spot/closet which lit up automatically when you past (no fumbling in the dark!). In the main part of the room, which was very large, was a big soft bed which I would have liked to stay in for days. Above one of the bedside tables was an automatic control pad for the lights (including the foyer, bathroom, valet, and sexy colored lighting) and air conditioning. Across from the bed, the tv is part of this giant center with what I called the maxibar, because between the snacks, drinks, frig, glasses, and assorted sundries (like a sexytime kit and a hangover kit, along with London souvenirs), it took up a big part of the wall. It was lit as well and just added to the swankiness. There is also a well lit desk inset next to the wall between the bed and bathroom, with a mirror over it (you could see from the bed, which I'm just sayin, could add a little fun...between that, the lighting, and the bar...sexytime is definitely aimed for at this hotel. Too bad I was alone!) At the far end of the room from the door was the window looking out on the street, which formed a kind of abutment that I could slide smoky screens over to block everything out. There was also a table right there where I could sit and watch London go by, as I enjoyed my complimentary water and jelly beans. I was also treated to a complimentary drink at STK, the restaurant downstairs, and I got the chance to make lovely conversation with one of the hostesses there (I forgot her name, but she was Italian, and really great). I had some bourbon and fig drink that was excellent (didn't try the food). The concierge was also most helpful, not only printing out my boarding pass, but seeing that I was on my way out for the eve, had it delivered to my room. The location is fabulous, right by the Covent Garden stop (and not far from other stops), and an easy walk to so many restaurants, shops, pubs, and sights. If I return to London, this will absolutely be my go-to hotel. I really enjoyed my stay; I just wish I could have stayed longer! read more

If you're more concerned about cool factor than actual service you will be perfectly happy with this place. It is like the W on steroids. Beautiful decor and visuals (although very dark) and edgy in an appealing way. However, if you are looking to be pampered and looked after I do not recommend staying here. I had issues reaching room service multiple times- and also had to wait a long time for the "ME for YOU" line to pick up just for a simple wake up call. I like minimalist appearance, but not minimalist service. It just shouldn't be that hard to get help at a hotel. With that said, stunning registration area and STK is a great restaurant. We stayed at ME for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience! From the moment we left our Uber and walked in they whisked our bags away and took us to the reception area. We were offered champagne. The architecture is very pretty and soothing. Our room was clean, spacious and had a Nespresso machine. It was cleaned daily and had night turn down service. The concierge helped us with theater tickets and bar/ restaurant suggestions. Every time in and out of the hotel we were greeted. Everyone was very friendly. It's also in the perfect location for theater and shopping. Walk to everything! The only disappointment was the rooftop bar. We went around 4:00 pm for a drink. For some reason we couldn't sit on the outside deck or weren't encouraged to wait for an opening. Our bartender made us an average drink and never asked us if we wanted another. It was really strange and not like our experience in the hotel. Didn't have time to go back and try again. read more
