I called Ruth's Florist and Gifts on August 9th after I was sorely disappointed that an online service was failing to deliver on that day as promised. Having flowers delivered on that datewas so important to me because it was the first year anniversary of my nephew's passing. I decided to contact a local florist on the off chance that something could be worked out at that late hour. Mrs. Ruth answered herself and was very understanding to my situation. She promised to do her best to make a floral arrangement honoring my nephew and comforting our family. She was very compassionate. She went out of her way to make the arrangement on the spot. My sister said it was the loveliest arrangement she had ever seen, growing more beautiful after all of the multitude of buds opened. She enjoyed them for many days. 8yrs ago you showed great kindness to me. At that time, I lived in NC and had come home to help my father care for my mother who was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor. She lived only 10 wks. I had ordered roses for her funeral and 2 hrs before the service I got a call from the online florist saying they would not be able to deliver the requested flowers. I was so distraught and upset. I thought I would lose my mind with anger and overwhelming grief. Somehow I found YOU in the phone book. I was in tears when I called you and you comforted me and told me everything would be OK and you would put something together for me. Our daughter just moved and accepted a position in Chattanooga and my husband and I wanted to send her an arrangement. Living out of state and reading several reviews we decided to "take a chance" with Ruth's Florist & Gifts. I can say the reviews were right!!!!! I called and spoke with Thomas, he was so personable and helpful. Ruth's "creation" was beautiful. She also included a butterfly!!! I'm not sure if Ruth knew or not that I realized that a butterfly symbolizes "rebirth", "change" etc. Or was that just a little personal touch she just placed because of the type of person she is! Miss Ruth is such a wonderful and kind-hearted person. She genuinely cares about her customers and takes a real interest in getting to know them and their needs for the occasion at hand. Ms Ruth was a life saver! I had tried to use 1800Flowers to send flowers to my mother in law for Mothers Day. They failed to deliver on Mothers day and even failed to deliver on the re-delivery! They notified me both times that the flowers were delivered, but they lied. I called Ruth in a panic late in the afternoon after the 2nd non-delivery. She was so nice and talked me through what I needed to do. She even made sure a beautiful bouquet went out immediately to my MIL! I can't thank her enough. I needed to find a florist for my aunt who is very sick and we could not find a florist within hours to deliver flowers to her. Through many hours of calling FTD, Pro Flowers, grocery stores we were finally led to Ruth's Florist & Gifts. Even though her business is an hour and a half from my aunt's home, she offered to help me. I was able to find a florist closer to my aunt's home but that would not have been made possible without Ruth's help. The other day I walked into Ruth's store for the first time. It also happened to be the day I was supposed to go to prom. I didn't have any idea what I should get for the wrist of my date. I called Ruth on the Wednesday before Mother's Day. I explained that I lived out of the area asked if she had any gardenia plants, which are my mom's favorite.
