Tried this place out on a whim and would recommend reservations! Somehow got bar seating but otherwise there were no free tables for two on a Saturday night. If you reserve in advance, I'm sure you can put in a request for any preference seating as they offered a good variety of booths, chairs, and benches. More spacious than I thought. It was somewhat hard to find initially, but I loved how cool the entrance was with the bookcase/book entry once we found out it was UNDER the Rails Steakhouse. The service was a bit slow for our food orders (hash browns and burrata) and the tiramisu dessert didn't really taste like tiramisu.. but the drinks were very on point! We stayed there for three hours and never felt like bartenders interrupted our conversation. One of the bartenders was better at checking up on the status of our orders, but otherwise I felt like the service was solid. Their kitchen may close early so make sure you get your orders in early. :)

The star of the show was the braised short ribs ($35), which sat upon a crispy on-the-outside, creamy-in-the-middle parmesan risotto cake.

We arrived early for an event and decided to have a drink at the bar. Our bartender was friendly, offering some suggestions to us as newcomers. When it was time for our dinner, we took the elevator from Rails down to Thirty3. The entrance to the speakeasy is obscured by a bookcase, which I pulled a book to open. This leads to main part of the speakeasy where part of the seating is. Going down another hallway, I arrived at a closed wine cage. Open the cage and pull a torch to open yet another area. This last area (and best area in my opinion), is a cool cave feature, so secluded from the rest of the restaurant, transports you to another world. 5* for ambiance and there's no competition! Service was helpful, even when I got lost traveling backwards through the maze to find the restroom, and professional, for not laughing as another patron and myself got stuck on opposite sides of the speakeasy's mechanical door. For those of you who had actually came for the food, I had the burrata ($16) which was accompanied by a lovely peach + pine nut compote. The wedge salad ($13) barely had any toppings, mostly iceberg lettuce and most definitely not worth it. The star of the show was the braised short ribs ($35), which sat upon a crispy on-the-outside, creamy-in-the-middle parmesan risotto cake. The perfectly paired onion marmalade and cabernet demiglace cut through the richness of the both. Sides of grilled asparagus and mashed potato were standard. The "signature" butter cake was signaturely dry. I could barely finish it even with the quenelle of marscapone on the side. Overall, some hits and some misses, but obviously, you didn't come for just the food, did you? The vibes of this place more than makes up for any missteps in the kitchen.

Really nice speakeasy below Rails Steakhouse. We went to dinner at Rails and then moved our way downstairs for some cocktails. Note they do serve the Rails full menu at the speakeasy as well. They have long tables for bigger groups and separated areas. Some with booths for up to four people to dine at or lounge chairs and benches to sit around and have drinks with company. We sat around the bar for a chat and some drinks. They have TVs around the bar and plenty of seating. Extensive alcohol menu ranging in price. Whiskeys you can mix or ones you just don't. My wife had the Pink Lady of the Rails, one of their crafted cocktails. She loved it!! The entrance and exit out of Thirty3 is awesome. It's a speakeasy and should have that feel to it. A must experience! Don't be afraid to ask how to leave lol.

We went to rails but the bar was busy so we went to the speakeasy thirty3 and it was so cute! Highly recommend!

I absolutely love going to speakeasies because the bartenders or "mixologists" really know what they are doing. There are very few places near me in Parsippany that you can go to for great drinks. Most are just local pubs to get regular beers. Usually, the speakeasies I've visited (NYC) are often small little bars hidden behind a facade. This place had a sign outside with Thirty3, but an unmarked door that led into the large bar around back. The bar is located in the basement of the steakhouse and faces the railroad station. FYI: There is ample parking on the street and in the commuter lot next to the steakhouse and so the valet parking that is offered out front is not required. We reached this place around 6:30p on a Thursday evening and the place was completely empty, however, by the time we were leaving around 8pm, the place was almost packed. There are multiple options for seating, one can sit at a table, the bar or on one of the sofas that line the wall. We ordered a couple cocktails, I had the Old fashion, of which they have 3 varieties. Let me tell you, these were fantastic drinks. I could taste the orange around the rim of the glass and just a tiny bit inside my bourbon. This was also a heavy handed pour, just my style! I wish I could have tried the 2 other types if I didn't have to drive. We opted to order the delicious Fig & Bleu Pizza which was a fairly large pizza that came out. It easily fed 3-4 people as a snack and it was less than the price of our drink at $13. I'm certainly going to come back to this place again, if not to try the other two old fashions, but to also try some more things off the small plate menu. Worth a look see for all those parsippany/Montville locals.

The "speakeasy" style bar & lounge at Rail's Steakhouse is called Thirty3. I visited with a friend on Thursday Jan 17 for drinks and apps. The decor and feel of the place is unique and amazing - also looks brand new. The music is prohibition-era chic. The food and drinks are amazing - hundreds of wines on their wine list, reasonable prices on the wine, many craft & micro-brew beers, and the cocktail list is amazing. We were served by Adrianna who was personable, friendly, and knew the menu very well. She recommended a few drinks, which we loved. We had a Sazarac, Chartreuse, Orgeat, & Manhatten. All were phenomenal. We ordered east and west coast oysters, crab cocktail, kobe sliders, tuna tare tare, & burratta pizza. Flavor was 10/10. If you're looking for a laid-back atmosphere, top-notch drinks and cocktails, and a solid menu where everything is good. This is your place. Also, for the portions, quality, and service, price is spot on.

The service was prompt and the server answered all of our questions about the menu. The bread was soft little salty rolls. Some of our party split the tomahawk which was massive, cooked to perfection, and very juicy. I got the lamb chops which were superb and so meaty. The polenta/broccoli rabe didn't really add much. For sides, the creamed spinach was more cheesy than creamy, but if you like cheese, it works. The parmesan truffle fries were likewise very cheesy and a great blend of salty and crunchy. The mac n cheese was good, but the lobster pieces were smallish. We did go overboard with the cheese sides, but they went so well with the main dishes. Dessert seemed like a must. We shared the apple cider donut bread pudding, which was very unique and blended the cold ice cream with the hot apple, dense pudding. We also had to try the 10 layer chocolate cake and the sheer size is amazing, but it was also richly chocolate flavor. The more unique dish and classic dish were both winners, and I couldn't even choose a favorite Everyone had a good time, the dishes were all amazing, and it's worth the splurge to celebrate yourself or a loved one.

Rather than sitting in the bar area, we asked to be seated in the dining area. There were a few typical bar items on the menu - burgers, fries, and chicken wings. We ordered a few things. Spicy Tuna Tartare: wasn't spicy, didn't taste fresh which wasn't a deterrent to me as this isn't a seafood restaurant or fine dining. Next time I'd pass on that. Bavarian Pretzel: amazing. Very tasty. Came out nice and hot. That rarebit cheese sauce? Oh honey that can come home with me anytime. Absolutely delicious. And this is coming from someone who hates that fake cheese, cheese whiz type taste. Margherita Pizza: didn't come out hot which is probably why I wasn't a fan of it. It was pretty mediocre for such a basic pizza. And the food didn't come out all together, so not sure why that didn't come out hot. Wings and waffles: Tasty buffalo wings. The waffles actually taste like funnel cake which was a nice surprise. THEN. The burger came out and that is why this review dropped. It had a small hair on the side of the plate and a closer look at the rest of the plate, you'll see a long hair on the pickle. That was disappointing but happy to have tried the place nonetheless.

Since we were big fans of those alcohols, we decided to check it out. The walls of the space were covered in colorful murals with Latin American imagery. There were banquettes along either wall with small tables and ottomans scattered in front of them, providing separate, little areas for each group. Large playing cards were fanned across each table with Jack, Queen, King, and Ace cards each having a menu on its backside. There were bar bites, a spirits list, classic cocktails that could be reimaged with your agave spirit of choice (picture a tequila mojito), and even a custom beverages. The creative drinks were not cheap, coming in at around $20 on average, but they certainly were complex! My La Balacara featured Casamigos Mezcal, spiced pear, Luxardo, orange, ginger, chestnut honey, and a chili tincture. I thought the drink sounded outrageous, but, sadly, all I tasted was that honey, the ingredient of which I was least interested. In fact, the smokiness of the mezcal really did not play well with the chestnut honey, leaving it to taste sort of like licorice. I was not a fan. My companion's El Encanto included Casamigos Cristalino, Lillet Blanc, strawberry-lemongrass cordial, guava, and basil, which sounded herbaceous, but really just tasted like a fancy daiquiri. He enjoyed it, but I found it unimpressive. Our drinks were accompanied by a complementary bowl of spiced popcorn, which was delicious. We had come from an earlier dinner, so the snack was as much as I needed. However, the few larger food items that I saw others order all looked great. While I would go back to Perico to try some other items, I felt like I had had better, more affordable cocktails upstairs at Panela.
