A couple of weeks later, I was told they never received it and that I needed to pay online (which wasn't an option before). I paid online, and about a week later my original check was cashed. I contacted SSC immediately to let them know I'd been double-charged and asked for a refund. That was three weeks ago. We were also having them replace a skylight over our addition. The skylight had leaked off an on since it was installed 20 years ago. It had been looked at by several companies over the years and no one could provide a solution . The skylight replacement was a problem because they could not find a replacement to fit the measurements. The guys came out several times. A couple of days ago, Elmer came out and spent some time making noise on the roof. When he finished, he said that the skylight would not leak anymore and that there was NO CHARGE for all the work they had done. As it turns out, the skylight had been installed incorrectly which is why the measurements were off. Elmer took it apart, figured out the problem and reinstalled it the right way. I repeat, NO CHARGE, event though we agreed to pay over $1,000 for a new skylight. He said he wouldn't do a job that was not needed. Yesterday we had a torrential rain and there were no leaks! I asked Elmer if he was the boss and he answered modestly that he was a "team member." In fact, he is the owner of Egama. Egama is an excellent, reasonably priced roofing company. Most important it is run with honesty and integrity!
