Server then acknowledged this lady and did not even say anything as I am standing there and my drink is in front of me and was already called upon. ((3.75 stars)) when i think of coffee, i don't really land on Think Coffee. nothing against there various locations or their coffee program--it'd just not very memorable to me. however there matcha lemonade on a summer day is like a gust of wind on an otherwise swampy nyc pavement...cooling when summer sunshine becomes an oppressive force. i am fan of the matcha + lemonade combo and i really think it has been a go-to companion on summer walks bc air-conditioned clothing has not been invented...yet. that said, it's a simple drink that hits on sweltering days. that clean matcha flavor iced with a touch of sweetness and tartness by was on the lemonade. the drink's consistency can err towards being too sweet but i think that from whatever lemonade mix they use at Think ...the coffee shop, itself, is nice and fairly well-maintained. there's seating on one side of the coffee shop, but it's often taken as this seems to be a location with high foot traffic. i don't mind bc i never linger here. the service goes from good to just okay-ish at times. like I said, i don't think of THINK except when I am not thinking of coffee but am thinking of a matcha lemonade in the summer. read more

The café features a dark, wooden exterior that exudes warmth and charm. Inside, it feels like stepping into someone's living room, with inviting barstools adding to the cozy ambiance. While the space is intimate and inviting, its small size can make it feel crowded during busy times. Here, I had trouble connecting to Wi-Fi, but the customer service was fast. People know exactly what to get, sit down, and work; a couple of people had laptops, but I wasn't able to connect to the Wi-Fi. I don't know what the Wi-Fi issue is, but I'll have to ask. The food here is decent, though a bit pricey; a cookie and a drip coffee cost me about nine dollars. The peanut butter cookie had an interesting texture--firm and slightly crisp on the outside, reminiscent of Italian biscotti, but surprisingly soft and chewy in the center, offering a nice contrast. As for the Think Coffee drip coffee, it was smooth and balanced, complementing the cookie's rich peanut butter flavor without overwhelming it. There are places to charge, so this is definitely a great spot for remote workers if you're in the Third Avenue area. It's a short stop from the L train on Third Avenue. read more

I ordered a panini. The man with dark hair and blue eyes took my order, and hasn't sent it to the kitchen at all. He was too busy chatting with female customers. Wow, what a disappointment. I never write reviews but have to for this. I used to go to Think Coffee pretty often for their reliably good espresso drinks -- and for their awesome grilled cheese. Thick slices of fresh multigrain bread, a generous amount of delicious cheddar, and you could add tomatoes or pesto, etc. Just finished having a grilled cheese and a latte at the 22nd St/3rd Ave location. Coffee was still really good, and the guy at the register was friendly and funny. BUT -- seriously, the grilled cheese sandwich was such a letdown! Even a school cafeteria does a better job, alas...two small slices of packaged, anemic whole grain bread, and probably one thin slice of cheddar that didn't even cover the whole sandwich. You literally could barely find the cheese! Roasted tomato added the only fillip of tastiness. What happened, Think Coffee?! Why the heck didja cheap out so much? Worst iced matcha latte I've ever had in NYC. 1 Star for the clumpy gross bits of matcha I had to bite down on as I sip this drink. Employees are apethetic. Asked for a second cup to mix my matcha since everything was at the bottom and he didn't say a word or ask me if I'd like another one he just handed me another cup. Think Coffee seems to be a polarizing coffee shop, particularly this location, around their pricing, quality of the coffee, and about the WiFi situation. I visit this location relatively often and perhaps I'm only scratching the surface, but I've only had really seamless and pleasant transactions here. They take covid precautions seriously, limiting the number of people inside, installing plastic guards between customers and staff, and allowing contactless payment through online orders and tap to pay methods. The staff have always been friendly and accomodating with every visit, and I've enjoyed the range of drinks I've had here, whether it's a oat milk chai latte, turmeric latte, or regular drip coffee. I like supporting Think because of their charitable donations to various causes and that they commit to help fund projects that help farm worker communities who are the most vulnerable in the coffee supply chain. Their coffee is somewhat pricey, but I'd willingly pay more for their social projects. I have fond memories visiting the first location of Think Coffee on Mercer St ~15 years (wow) ago to play scrabble, people watch, and have a nice cup of Joe before heading to the Angelika theater to watch a film. It reminds me of older New York. read more

Promoting sustainability with reusable cups for water and coffee if you're staying. The scones and muffins come in a wide variety and the one I had was quite tasty! There was a wide variety of seating but since the tables are on the small side, it was hard to share with a stranger. My cortado was also really good. My local coffee shop near work. They have a nice selection of pastries as well as having oat milk as an option for drinks, which is great. The cashiers are all usually pleasant and quick. There is one man who makes the drinks every morning who is quick and efficient and really knows what's going on and takes care of the customers. However, I do feel this place is a extremely understaffed, especially during morning rushes. There is usually only one person making drinks and one taking orders. Today, I ordered my usual drink, a chai latte with oat milk. There was someone new on the register and I said my order, he repeated it back to me word for word. But I saw that he entered "Coconut Matcha" on the screen and mentioned this. He said "don't worry it's ok." I was kind of puzzled because I knew that the print out for the barista would say coconut matcha and that wasn't what I ordered. Anyway, I let it go and waited for my drink. The cashier actually wound up making...low and behold, a coconut matcha. I told the regular barista what happened and he seemed confused as well. He said the cashier was actually a back of the house chef filing in because they needed help today in the front. The barista made my drink...but a small size. I said I had ordered a medium but he seemed dismissive and told me that I would be refunded for the drink anyway because of the mix up...ok, but I still didn't get the size I wanted. I was running late at this point and didn't bother arguing. I guess I will see if I get that refund. Another time, a woman barista made a regular latte and after standing there for several minutes waiting for my chai latte, she asked what I had ordered. I told her and she said, well do you want the latte? I said no, I ordered a chai latte, I do not drink coffee. She seemed annoyed but proceeded to make my drink. I would say once every two weeks my order gets messed up here. I can't say I really blame anyone. They're terribly understaffed and having one person make drinks during busy mornings is just setting them up to fail. Also, do not put back of house workers on register without proper training. As someone who worked in the service industry, you need to be sharp when working the register or you will get eaten alive, especially during a rush. I guess I'll be back tomorrow for my usual morning drink and hope for the best. read more
