Went this weekend with my boyfriend and it was the owner did a great job. She has created a very calming environment from the moment you walk in. She took the time to get to know you and focus on what you needed. Highly recommend! read more

Bad massages for a high quality price. Price isn't an issue for me for health work, as I pay 400 a session at some top tier. The massages had good technique knowing where knots are, but little pressure and actual manipulation of muscles. I think we paid 175+ a person, and 2 people total came for a group session while visiting Cambria. If it was 60/person likes cheaper massage parlor then I'd give them 3-4 stars for the price-for-value. Old reviews are 5 stars so I wonder if there was a change in staff or management? Or friends leaving reviews? Either way mediocre massages at a high cost of what a hotel charges. read more

My husband and I have made duet massages a tradition now on our visits to Cambria. I dream of this massage when I'm back in LA. No one compares. We love it so much, we gave massages as a gift for our parents this year. They loved the experience as well. My father in law said he has had plenty of massages before, but none compare with Therapy by the Sea. Do yourself a favor... make an appointment. You deserve to show yourself some love and care. read more

Great little day spa in Cambria. The massages were great we all loved them and the owner and her therapist were really nice and you could tell they both had many years of experience as you wait for others to be done they give you heat packs to stay relaxed it was really a great day with my daughters while on vacation. read more

LOVED our experience here! Krista and Trish were able to get us an appointment at our chosen time on short notice, and we booked a couples massage because my boyfriend and I both had pain in various areas. Within an hour, all of my back, glute, and shoulder pain was gone, and my boyfriend felt like his neck and shoulder pain was also gone. Can't recommend this place highly enough! read more

I highly recommend coming here for a massage. We did a duet for 90 minute Swedish massage. The owner and her other therapist are so friendly and calming. We really enjoyed getting massages together. We booked an appointment a day before, and it was nice she could take us last minute. The atmosphere is very good relaxed and you'll definitely leave feeling super refreshed. Parking is pretty easy too! read more

I scheduled a couples massage for me and my husband while on our honeymoon. We went with Swedish massages because we really wanted to relax. Christa, the owner, and Giles, the other massage therapist, asked us to show up 15 minutes early for intake. We filled out questionnaires and the therapists were very thorough in learning about our preferences and areas to avoid, then proceeded to describe what they would do. The messages were amazing! Christa provided just the right amount of pressure and her technique was solid. My husband said the same about Giles. The overall experience was 5/5 stars. Pricing, technique, ambiance, aromatherapy...all of it. We're very pleased and when we come back next year, we'll budget for 90 minute messages! If you're paying by card, there is a 4% processing fee, so bring cash if that's a problem for you. We paid for the massages on CC and brought cash for the tips. read more

Simply amazing! The best massage I have ever had! Came here as a surprise for my husbands birthday. Booked our appointment online for a couples massage and facial. Office is small , cute and smells great. Massage was perfect, went over every area with attention and when using the heated stones....wow!!! I have had massages at burke williams for double the price and they were no where near this good. Rhoda and Tammy are the best! I can not wait to go back, might drive the 5 hours just for another massage. read more

I'll admit up front that I am a bit high strung and came to Cambria to unwind after an intense period at work. My wife and I had a 90 minute duet massage preceded by a foot soak for my wife. The owner Christa is incredibly knowledgeable and explained the essential oils for the foot soak and specifics of a stone massage. I left disoriented, a walking bowl of jello not fit to operate any machinery or perform the most basic math functions. Great place, wonderful people. read more

I have never received a massage at this establishment, nor will I ever and this is why.... I logged into Yelp to find a good massage therapist for our mini-vacation to Cambria, and while searching, I found the top two spas. Therapy By The Sea and Cambria Day Spa were the top two. Now here is where it gets interesting....I go to check the reviews for Therapy By The Sea and find that this spa's website is actually Cambriadayspa.com....this spa has the audacity to knowingly use this poor woman's business name as their website name. I was told that they refuse to drop the website name, thus stealing business away from Amy at Cambria Day Spa. I refuse to patronize an establishment that LIES and STEALS from someone in their own community. PLEASE folks go see the REAL Cambria Day Spa....AMY...she is the BEST! read more

Well, this was my first experience getting a massage, so take that for what it's worth. However, there is nothing I can think of that would have made the experience my wife and I had better. Rhoda and her Tammy Ray were very nice and ingratiating, not to mention the fact that the atmosphere in the loft was very soothing, if not a tad chilly that morning. However, it just made the heating pads on the beds ever better. The music was very calming, without being strange or distracting. The hot rock treatment was perfect, not too hot yet packing plenty of relaxing heat. We purchased the 60 session and we got it in spades. The aromatherapy was nice and the techniques were perfect for the amount of pressure I prefer (right in the middle). I felt great afterward and full of energy about five minutes after leaving. Wonderful experience and we will definitely be back next time. read more

My mom and I were in Cambria for a few days of relaxation and discovered Therapy By the Sea. I was impressed by their website and other Yelp reviews, so we booked two 90 minute massages. While this place isn't like the usual day spas we've been to, it's a cute loft over some shops in downtown Cambria and provides a warm, cozy atmosphere. We were greeted warmly and given privacy and enough time to change both before and after our massages. Both of us felt these were the best massages we have ever had and were worried we couldn't get up after because we were so relaxed! The ladies used hot rocks, oil, aromatherapy, and provided nothing but relaxation! Thank you so much for making our trip extra special and providing such a great mother-daughter bonding experience! We will definitely come back on our next trip! read more

My husband & I booked a couples massage for our vacation. I am 6 months pregnant so I had a prenatal and my husband had a regular massage. This is a small & cozy place. Nothing like a chain which was a nice change. They were friendly & welcoming. Offered us robes, water and chocolate. I've had quite a few massages to compare this to. In comparison, we were happy with our massages but it wasn't the best I've had. What I liked... She maintained my modesty and ensured I was covered no matter how I turned. She periodically checked to make sure I was comfortable. She asked if I was comfortable with scalp massage & oils. They threw in 10 extra minutes free of charge because it was our anniversary - very nice. The environment and music was calm and relaxing. What I disliked... I felt it was a tad pricey... About $180 for a couples massage. I generally pay around $150. Also, during the massage, she put her fingertips inside my ears which made me a little uncomfortable. read more

My wife and I enjoyed a 60-minute couples massage right at the end of the day. Neither of us has ever had a better massage experience. My therapist used hot stones in a way I'd never experienced, getting the really tight spots to relax more easily than she could just by manipulation. Lots of warm oils, cool mint creams, and talented hands. My wife has had double back surgery, and her therapist was careful to question her about the details then provide a massage that perfectly addressed her issues. We were both so relaxed at the end that even standing to dress was an effort, LOL. We'd both highly recommend Therapy by the Sea. Two very nice and well trained ladies who do a wonderful job. read more

It was the best massage I ever had. My husband and I spent our 1 year anniversary in Cambria and this is how we started our day on our anniversary. Great duet massage. 90 minutes of bliss. read more

I left LA 8 days ago....driving, seeing family, and then spent the past 3 nights in silent monasteries (seriously). All the driving along PCH and sleeping in funky beds had my neck and shoulders begging for some attention. I had planned a night at a hotel in Cambria and I prayed there was a good masseuse in town. Thank God I checked yelp! I called Rhoda at 2:45 pm to book something as soon as possible but she was booked until 6 pm (some "movement" seminar is in town so she was super busy). Since I wanted to watch the sunset, I asked for 6:30 and, as it was just me she agreed. They close at 7 but she was nice enough to stay open for me that extra half hour (45 minutes if you count the payment and talking). I've had a lot of massages before but this was the best. Rhoda has been blessed with knowledge of the body, good, strong hands, and the ability to apply hot stones perfectly (it's an art, trust me...burned before). She's amazing. This 60-minute massage felt like 2 hours - in a good way! I literally was laying there, in the warm room with the heated massage table (it was freezing on the beach at sunset!) and I thought, "I don't care if this costs me $200, it's worth it!" I forgot to ask about price and length at the beginning, so it very well could've been a 2 hour, $200 massage - but it wasn't. $10 off with a yelp deal brought this to $20 less than what I pay in LA, Seattle, Vegas, Denver...basically, GO NOW. If you need or want a fantastic massage, give her a call. I know she does couples' massages too, if you're here with your honey. And FYI: I turned on my computer for the 1st time in 4 days before going to bed, just to write this review. Seriously, worth it. read more

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and received a deep tissue couples massage with hot towels. Both of our ladies were so knowledgeable and talented. We left there feeling like jello but in all the best ways! They were very nice to allow my parents to call ahead and surprise us with paying for our sessions. Definitely will be coming again and hopefully make this an anniversary get away. read more

Christa was incredibly attentive, we booked the refresh and renew which was a foot soak that was incredible! It's not just soaking your feet and it leaves you feeling relaxed and invigorated. Then we moved on to the Cambrian Glow body polish and massage with Christa and Trish, do yourself a favor and go for at least an hour and a half! Any treatment you receive will leave you feeling incredibly relaxed!! We will return to this establishment again. read more

This was the most outrageously amazing massage I've ever had in my life. From start to finish her technique was flawless and effectively released every ounce of tension in my body. The hot towels and stones were magic. I came up to Cambria with my aunt because it is equal distance between both our homes and this may have to be a permanent meeting spot just so we can come back here. Thanks again!! read more

My wife and I are celebrating our 11 year anniversary. She challenged me to plan our trip. 6 years ago, just before we found out my wife was preganant with our second child, we came to Cambria on our 5 year anniversary. We had a wonderful time, so I thought this would be a perfect place to go back to. This time, it was all about relaxing. What better way to start a relaxing vacation than a couples massage. I found this place while researching the area and I couldn't be happier. We did the Swedish massage which was not as intense as a deep tissue massage. It definitely was the right choice. I usually get the deep tissue but some times I am soar the next day. They used essential oils, hot rocks and hot towels. WOW, it was great. I especially loved the hot rocks. The masseuses were great. They made sure everything was good and listened to my wife about her concerns. They even used peppermint on her because she suffers from migraine headaches. Overall, we left happy, relaxed and ready for a wonderful vacation. read more

So disappointed. I wrote a much more detailed review but yelp ate it. Bottom line is that the massage was terrible but the place was clean and the therapists were friendly just not good at massage. Who are the people writing these 5 star reviews, relatives? read more

At first I made an appointment on-line; confirmed it with my credit card; got a confirmation by email, but no one there when I showed up for my appointment. I left a couple voice mail messages, but finally left. A while later, I got a call from Rhoda saying there had been a mixup. She was very apologetic and offered any service for 50% off to make up for the no show. I agreed to that offer for an an appointment that my husband had the next day. He found the experience to be very good and found Rhoda to be very professional. Since we come regularly to the area, I may try again. read more

4 friends had back to back couples massages. 9:30 and 11:30- 2 had the owner and raved about their massages. 2 others had another person and we were very dissapointed. The 9:30 massage did not start on time as they were still setting up. The location is tiny with a bathroom outside. The non owner massage therapist ( was very kind and sweet) but was not fluid or relaxing. I anticipated a swedish massage with the scrub. There was very little to non existent swedish rubbing. The scrub was applied with very little massaging. The strokes were short and choppy. The microwave kept going off and was very disturbing. This was the worse massage I have ever had. I was so dissapointed. read more

Had a great massage with my wife on her birthday! I'm used to sports massage and this was a little different. The first couple of minutes there were some hot towels and light touches, but as soon as the hot stones kicked in I was transported to another planet where I bathed in bliss and floated on a cloud of joy. Great job, we'll be back next time we're in town! read more

Got a couple's signature massage at a pretty good price here. I LOVED it... it had a little bit of everything... nice aromatherapy, HOT STONES (I flinched a bit with the first one... I had no idea what to expect), and a plain good rubdown. Though I might have had more aggressive massages before, I appreciated that this one felt so cozy -- I was kept warm inside the blankets. read more

What a wonderful experience my husband and I had today! I have had many a massage and would rank this as one of the very best I've had. It was my husband's first massage and a great first experience. The owner is so sweet and great at what she does. I came in with a headache I'd had for 4 days straight, and left without the headache! When we're back here visiting again, we'll be stopping in again. read more

Hands down the best massage I've ever had. It's clean and cosy with a welcoming atmosphere. Our massage therapists (Trish and Christa) were extraordinary! From the second we walked in to when we left, we were attended to in the most professional and friendly way. I got the signature massage and my lady got the body polish and we both melted into the tables. The hot stones/hot towels will be a necessity for every massage from now on thanks to my experience today. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants an amazing experience. There are also great package deals that include gift cards to amazing restaurants and wine tastings. Thanks for everything! read more

My boyfriend and I came to Cambria for a day and decided on massages. We were able to get in within the hour, and at the same time, so that was great! The spa is tucked upstairs in a teeny space, with one room and a little back room to change. It was nice and cozy! My massage was really nice. Tammy used hot stones, which I'd never experienced before. She worked extra on the areas that I said bother me most, which was much appreciated. My boyfriend couldn't stop raving about Rhoda's massage. Apparently she has some serious massage skill. Deep tissue, rolling movements, getting each and every knot. The woman gives a great massage!!! He has yet to find someone closer to home who's as talented. read more

Lovely lovely place with a lovely lovely owner. The atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful. I felt pampered in the best way. There were little treats in the dressing room -- chocolate! The best surprise. Due to a recent neck injury, she treated me with care and love, wrapping me up in a heated brace and giving me some cool towels too. What a gem! What a treat! I meant to go back the following day but didn't end up having the time. I'll be back next time I visit Cambria. read more

I purchased the summer play land package which includes a facial and massage. On arrival to the quaint little one room spa, i was given a form to fill out about my problem areas and what kind of massage I preferred (light, medium, hard) . I was then given a delicious smoothie and some chocolate to eat while getting ready. I enjoyed both thoroughly. With a light clink of a bell the massage therapist began and i was transported to heaven. Although i chose a light massage, she used enough pressure that I did feel it. I loved the use of the hot stones and the facial made my skin feel wonderful. I will definitely visit again. read more
