I don't know why Cambria Massage Therapy came up as #13 when I searched for a skilled massage! Rita is top notch. If you look closely at other reviews, many of the entries hire more than 1 massage therapist. Their reviews were highly dependent on who saw you! Rita is a solo practitioner. She is highly skilled, conscientious and kind. Her prices are reasonable. I can't recommend Rita highly enough! read more

Our family had an impromptu vacation to Cambria and luckily were all able to schedule with Rita. Wow what relaxing massages! She is terrific! read more

Rita is a very experienced and gifted massage therapist. Trust me, I've been getting regular massages for 20+ years. Rita cares, she is intuitive and her complete focus is on your body's needs. I highly recommended her to several of my friends traveling to Cambria. read more

I just love the vibe when I come in. Music on, kitty cat waiting to be loved. Ahhh then the massage...absolutely wonderful I feel so much better, thanks! read more

My wife and I stumbled onto Rita while we were in Big Sur for a weekend and she last minute accommodated us on a Sunday. The entire experience was lovely and super fulfilling and we haven't even gotten to the actual massage yet - beautiful space and energy matched only by Rita herself - what a gift she is! The massages themselves were phenomenal - one of the best we've had. Cannot recommend Rita more and we will definitely be long time repeat customers when in the Cambria area! read more

Rita has thought of everything necessary to make the experience of getting a massage comfortable and effective. Her personal warmth is lovely, but what makes it a 5-star massage is the massage itself. Rita was thorough and attentive, and understood without even being told where tension was held. It was not an exceptionally intense 'work out all the kinks' massage, but instead a soothing, slowly penetrating massage that made me relax my entire body by the time it was done. You walk out feeling in harmony with your body, and with the pleasure of the massage lingering warmly in your limbs. The kind of massage it would be nice to get every week. The environment lends itself to the relaxation, with a heated table, well-chosen oils, and calm music. This is clearly more than just work for Rita, it's an avocation. read more

This was one of the most relaxing massages ever. Rita was fantastic and got rid of every knot in my body. My husband felt the same. Totally worth the trip out to Cambria and a fabulous birthday treat. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Rita. She is intuitive and seems to find the right places. I have been having some neck issues and I have to say I had a comfortable nights sleep after seeing her. She is very friendly and welcoming and her little space was very relaxing. I was happy to be able to get an appointment at the last minute and she worked really hard to accommodate the time I was in Cambria, I will be back. If you are looking for a salon experience, this is not the place for you. If you want a relaxed , welcoming atmosphere, I would highly recommend her. read more

Wow! Rita knows how to make my tired body feel amazing! I especially like that she asks what my needs are. Fragrance free unless you prefer otherwise. Great for someone with allergies. Very discreet and makes me feel at ease! Thank you Rita! After hiking and biking for 2 days , this was a great way to celebrate our 20th anniversary! read more

I booked a massage for my boyfriend for his 30th birthday (his 1st massage, can you believe it?!). We let her know it was his first massage and she made him feel welcome and comfortable. He still raves about Rita's massage 3 months later! We stayed at the Cambria Pines Lodge (which we also recommend) and Rita's place was not far at all. We can't wait to come back although next time I'll be sure to get a massage as well :) read more

This was the most amazing massage. She felt very connected. I will definitely be back-

Wonderful massage and relaxing. Also nice outdoor seating area when you wait for your partner to finish his/her massage. Thank you very much, Rita. We will be back. read more

It was a cold and rainy day when I had my appointment with Rita, I was a little concerned I would be cold during the massage but I was met with nice thick blankets and a heated massage table and calm soothing music. The room was very clean and well decorated. A separate changing room was available and adjacent to the massage area. I was very pleased with the full body massage under the care of Rita's firm hands. I also thought that it was a great value for my money. I will definitely be a repeat customer. read more

I was traveling the central coast of California and had a bodywork session with Rita. It was simply amazing. She is skilled, professional, intuitive and knows how to help the body so deep relaxation and therapeutic value can occur. I highly recommend her to anyone. She offers various types of bodywork and can accommodate your needs. In addition, she herself is delightful, kind, patience and has a beautiful disposition. I am a bodyworker myself and know a great practitioner when I receive form one. Whether new to massage or a veteran, your session with Rita will be wonderful. Enjoy all! read more

Rita was AMAZING! This was seriously one of the THE best massages I've ever had. I was in Cambria for our annual girls weekend and we all took our turns with Rita. Her sweet and welcoming studio is the perfect setting to relax and enjoy your self-care. She is very nurturing and easy-going. The hot stones were such a wonderful treat. She is very reasonably priced, which is a bonus. I will see her whenever I am in Cambria, and so should you! read more

From start to finish there is nothing like a massage with Rita! Her beautiful peaceful garden sets the tone for slowing down and relaxing. She is warm and easy going in a way that makes me calm and happy. She uses multiple modalities and is trained to meet anyone's needs. I like strong hands with lots of stretching, my husband likes deep tissue work and our teenager likes a gentler touch. All of us loved the warm stones, judicious use of oils and the way Rita's massage made us slip into that meditative state that a brilliant massage evokes. Sitting in the beautiful nest her husband built is a bonus for any couple looking to get back to back massages. Best massages ever! read more

Your massage begins the moment you meet Rita. Rita is the sweetest most positive person you'll meet. She and her husband have a created a very peaceful and tranquil environment for your massage. After your greeted by Rita's warm smile, she escorts you to her little massage nook in the backyard, and as you relax in the massage room, you will experience the most intuitive and soothing massage that you will ever have. If you arrive early for your appointment, you can rest in one of their nests that they've created in their yard...a place to decompress before your massage. Such a great massage - Starting with the tranquil setting and Rita's warm greeting. I was in Cambria for a short stay and really needed help with a sore neck. She was obviously very knowledgeable, but also had a special touch. I wish I lived closer! read more

On a weekend getaway, my wife and I stayed at the Blue Dolphin Inn on Moonstone Beach Drive. We had not thought much about getting massages until the last second. My wife contacted our Inn and they recommended Rita at Cambria Massage Therapy. We were able to quickly book back-to-back 90 minute massages for a Saturday morning in the privacy of our room. My wife and I have had massages from all levels of resorts and spas, including Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Burke-Williams, etc., and Rita falls solidly in the top tier. This was not just massage, it was massage therapy. She was not simply going through the motions; I could tell her hands were sensing exactly how to approach various trouble spots, like chronic tightness in my neck and shoulders. And she knew how to appropriately and judiciously use elbows (unlike less experienced masseuses who try to use elbows only to thunk off the muscle and land on an intended area). She also combined some stretching that was gentler than but just as effective as Thai massage. She also used a very effective technique for the neck and head, using the sheets to roll your head around instead of the sometimes heavy-handed holding the head with hands and manipulating to and fro. My wife and I were both very happy with our massages. And we will seek Rita out again next time we're in town. Highly recommend! read more

Wifey and I got wonderful massages, with multiple modalities by Rita. A wonderful studio and also there is a nest that you can sit in while you wait. It's an actual human-sized nest with pillows it's amazing! This massage was like no other will be returning! read more

Loved the personal attention we both received at her private home studio and she used many different techniques throughout her entire treatment. We really enjoyed how she uses the hot stones during our session. Rita is our new go to spot when we are visiting Cambria and her pricing is fair without the high overhead that others in town charges. We both left relaxed and rejuvenated and enjoyed her hospitality in her relaxing gardens ^_^ read more
