I put myself on the waitlist and they squeezed me in the next day. I asked for a deep tissue massage when I stepped into their treatment room, which I'm often met with a yikes, you sure? Except, Kathie went above and beyond to erase my pain. The adhesion pops she got out of my back and shoulders must've been just as satisfying for her as it was for me, but I don't know how she was able to find each little knot like that. I couldn't have asked for a better experience in all of the times I've gone to any clinic. I'm not big on fancy appearances and the glamor of an elite spa. Instead, I prefer businesses to invest in their people and clients. It was clean and comfortable to me. Anyway, Kathie seemed to have an immediate understanding of my condition without me having to get into it. I appreciated that more than I probably expressed. The atmosphere was relaxed as soon as I walked in. I also got an extra treat on my way out the door that I found surprisingly soothing. These people truly care. Thank you, I am grateful. Still feeling the reprieve from the pain as I sit here today. :)

The location is very quaint and inviting, and there's also a chiropractor and esthetician in the same building! I was warmly greeted by Leon, who was amazing! Leon did a fantastic job with my massage and was extremely informative regarding educating me on my problem areas and how to address them, and I will most definitely be returning for a massage again soon. Marilyn worked through the massage and I have not felt the pinch in my shoulders since I've left and also I have a better range of motion on my right arm. My arm has been so tingly and sore for weeks but now I feel I will not have that problem anymore. I will definitely come back once more before I fly back home. I highly recommend this place! I don't usually write reviews, but this one is 100% deserved…read more Coming from San Francisco, I've tried plenty of places that call themselves "therapeutic," but most of the time you leave feeling good for the day... and the underlying issue is still there. I was visiting family in Connecticut and had tweaked my back pretty badly. I booked with Sammi Therapeutic Massage hoping for some relief and was fully prepared to pay top dollar without expecting much beyond temporary comfort. What I got was completely different. This was not just a massage -- this was actual healing work. She took the time to understand where my pain was, explained what she was doing (because I asked), and truly got in there and worked through the problem. The pain I came in with? Gone. If I had more time in CT, I would've gone back again just to continue the work and honestly get better sleep. She clearly knows the body and her craft. It's a private, by-appointment setup with a single table, and every second of it was worth it. From the comfortable setup to how she incorporated hot stones and intuitively read exactly what my body needed -- it felt intentional and effective. I'm genuinely so glad I didn't end up at another "typical" therapeutic spot that just goes through the motions. I'm sure there are other good places out there, but I don't see myself trying them anytime soon -- I feel like I found my person. If you're looking for a massage that actually fixes your knots and pain (not just temporarily relaxes you), this is your spot. I'd honestly consider flying back once a month for this.

Yes, when she does a special deep tissue massage she hits painful spots, but I think the treatment was very helpful. Sammi is Chinese and I have had a yoga intstructor in China who did some of the same moves and made me wince from time to time. I highly recommend Sammi for a great massage!
