I have gone to Theo's since I was an emo little 15 year old smoking my clove cigarettes. Theo's has always been a great place to meet for a cup of coffee and listen to music with friends. Theo's was hipster before I even know what a hipster was. The staff are always super friendly and don't act like jerks when you ask about certain drink ingredients. read more

Found this gem while killing time before a show last night. It was great that a downtown coffee shop stays open late for the evening crowd. I ordered a breve Irish cream latte. It was perfect. Served at the temperature so I could immediately drink it. The espresso was not at all burnt tasting or bitter. Quaint, hip, quirky. Great service and great coffee concoctions. The sandwiches and breakfast are great. Treats are good too! The only suggestion or improvement would be a clear plastic glass with straw for iced coffees versus the foam cup with plastic sipper lid. read more

The iced coffee here was great- very smooth and almost sweet which I really like in iced coffee. I prefer spicier notes in hot coffee. I tried one of their bagels which looked really good in the bakery case. It was honestly one of the best bagels I've had outside of New York but wasn't quite as delicious as it looked. Theo's has been a cornerstone of the District for a couple of a decades. They have great coffee and lots of seating. I do wish they still did live music shows and that they were open later, but the District itself seems to be dying a slow death. It's unfortunate that this seems to have caused a dip in Theo's patronage, as it has stayed a great place to relax, socialize, and enjoy some good food and drink. A very COZY cafe in a small town. It made me FEEL WARM the second I walked in with its friendly ambiance and staffs, and wide selections of coffee/tea. In town for business, stopped by as its located at tge base of the holiday inn. I ordered the ruben sandwich with a latte. The order took forever to make as the employees were talking about movies and forgot to place my order to the cook. The latte was good but the sandwich was even better. Perfect ratio of beef with a crispy golden toasted bread. Only weird thing was i was hoping they offered homemade chips or fries, and not popular brand chips. I was visiting Rock Island and staying across the street at the Holiday Inn. Of course, Maxwell House just doesn't cut it. Luckily for us, Theo's serves up an excellent latte. The staff was friendly and efficient. The only downside is that it is not open on Sundays. Sadness and grouchiness dominated the rest of the day...Oh, and they only accept CASH or CHECK. read more

meh service is slow, so dont go there if your in a time crunch. the lady who is suposse to be in charge in the day is slower than the hipster kids coffee is weak so dont go there if your a coffee addict. caribou has better coffee. but its ok if you wanna waste time and sit around sandwiches are way over priced so dont go there to eat i mean if it was like jimmy johns or hungry hobo sized sandwiches i could see paying $6 dollars but they are not just the same size you can make at home read more
