While there were many food vendors with great-looking food options available, we were looking for a place to eat lunch away from the crowds, out of the sun, and that offered salads. Johnny D's was our choice. Food (4.5/5). The three of us, all adults, ordered three entrees. The two were from their Greek Specialties part of the menu --first, a Gyro (lamb meat, Tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomato, and red onion on Pita bread with a side Greek salad. ($10.75). The Greek salad featured iceberg lettuce, tomato, red onion, green pepper, and cucumber. Second, a large Greek salad with Gyro meat ($12.75). Finally, from the Salads menu, a Grilled Chicken Salad ($9.75), with the same salad ingredients mentioned above plus grilled chicken cubes and choice of dressing. Upon ordering the honey mustard, the server mentioned that their creamy ranch is homemade, so I switched to the ranch. Overall, the food, and especially the Gyro and the homemade ranch dressing, was excellent, and the quantities were excellent So overall a very good value. In fact, we took the side salad + a bit more salad home. Slight mark-down in our rating because the salads were made with iceberg rather our preferred romaine. Service (5+/5). We were well taken care of by our friendly server, who may have been the owner. We were particularly impressed that, it being near closing time, he was preparing to distribute leftover prepared foods to the homeless "rather than letting it go to waste." Ambiance. (3/5). Note that the restaurant offers take-out and delivery. We would definitely eat here again when next in Clarksburg.

Ok so, I need to talk to you all about the magic of a thing called the "steak hoagie" at this…read moreplace. I came here with some friends who were showing me the area and I was fully expecting some greasy, floppy, tasteless beef smeared in corn-starch thickened broth and thrown on a half stale bun and called a "hoagie". Well, I was completely surprised when this steak hoagie came out. The bread was crisp on the outside, and warm and soft in the middle, which was FULL of deli-thin sliced, impossibly tender and moist rib-eye steak, and topped with some perfectly melted cheese. With plenty of peppers and onions mixed in to give it a depth of flavor that takes it out of any kind of boring, and moves it into "om nom nom thank you another one please" territory. Damn it was good. And the fries were perfectly executed. No starchy taste or half-limpified texture. Crisp and golden and takes to ranch dressing just as well as they do ketchup. Total price was around 12 bucks. And it was absolutely worth it. And worth a special trip for. So 5 stars for this place. Cheers.

My son-in-law, a Clarksburg native, was on-the-go, and needed a Lent-friendly lunch (fish and fries). He returned home later with his left-over fries, which I ate. They were perhaps the best fries I've ever eaten -- and that says a lot after they had been in a brown bag for a few hours! I look forward to a future visit to the actual restaurant where I can experience a full fresh meal.
