It is a beautiful and elegant venue that has been renovated over the years but kept its identity to its original state. I've attended several events here over the years, from concerts, to movies to guest speakers. My high school graduation was held here back in 1997. There are usually snacks such as popcorn available for purchase and beverages. I don't remember other food being available. The staff is always pleasant and ready to assist. Pro Tip: The seating on the lower level is much more comfy than upstairs, especially if you are hippy or curvy or just want more room. Buy your tickets keeping this in mind.

I'm not sure about prices, I didn't have any. I don't think any of the seats are bad for viewing the stage.i do think that they should invest funds into renovating or replacing the seats. The seats are short, low and small. They also do not have an elevator. Be prepared to climb many stairs if you don't purchase floor seats. They seemed to have improved the sound system, which really made the musical experience better. I thoroughly enjoyed Orchestra Noir and can't wait to see them again next year. I will definitely go back.

If you're not going to the sidewalk film festival then what are you even doing with your life?…read more This is an amazing annual film festival right here in Birmingham, Alabama that screens over 100 films in theaters and venues all over the most walkable part of the city. On top of that there are parties and events associated with the festival that are all well worth the price of entry, (which is surprisingly affordable). You can get a big mega-pass that gives you access to everything, or tickets that guarantee seating for certain films that you don't want to miss, or general admission/first come first serve tickets that allow you to roam about and be a bit more spontaneous in deciding what you want to see. Something for everyone at any price point. The venues themselves are generally excellent. From the larger Alabama and Lyric Theaters to the smaller and more intimate Sidewalk Cinema, all the locations are great. The festival itself is well organized, and the area in which it takes place is saturated with delicious food and drink options. Long story short, this is really a must-visit event. It's got something for everyone, is priced just right, runs smoothly and is overall a really great time. If you're thinking about it. Do it. Impossible to regret.

Such a great line up of movies and other opportunities for this year's festival. I'm very excited to actually check out some of the films!! Already got my ticket for opening night+party and really considering getting a Saturday pass. This was my very first time at the cinema. It's a really nice , colorful space! Bar and concessions available. Reasonable prices. Nice / hardworking staff. The theater is small but cozy with comfortable seats. The lobby is incredibly inviting--I even noticed someone relaxing at a table, coloring, which perfectly captured the laid-back, community feel of the space. Having a bar in the lobby was a nice touch too, making it easy to grab a drink before the movie. The theater has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying classic and independent films on the big screen. Seeing "Do the Right Thing" in a theater setting reminded me of the genius Spike Lee is!! I'll definitely be back for more screenings.

I don't usually do movie theater food because it can be pricy but this day was considered treat day. Not sure what my original order was but the young lady encouraged me to go with a combo for the popcorn corn and icee. Also, I saw a bar area, nice. If you're wondering whether or not to take kids, I will say I took my 8 year old daughter this year and she had a BLAST. Whereas last year, she was too scared to go in. Their first house is HUGE, Seriously HUGE.. the 2nd house is one of the best 3d houses I've seen. When we got to see them up and running, I was thrilled. Their actors REALLY put their heart and soul into it, and went all out to scare the folks coming through. The folks? All people in the haunt industry so yeah, they had to bring it. And they did!
