This was just ok. It was clear there was a miscommunication between the servers because we had 2 who would ask us the same question within 5 mins of each other. Even with 2 they were slow to come check on us or take our order. The food was just ok - for it being a well known resturant in the community I do expect more. The salad was pretty basic and the chicken plate had microwave potato's. The bison burger was the only meal that had no complaints. read more

We love the overall atmosphere of this place so we really wanted to get some pictures here for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We also love that it's three different establishments in one building so there's a huge variety of things going on and stuff to do. We started the night in the 313 Whiskey Bar where we started the with a whiskey sour and some champagne. Anthony and Sonny were very accommodating and helpful in making our night really special and pouring great drinks. Jen and Rory were super supportive of us being there and very patient with us being somewhat of a spectacle as we took some pictures and acted silly. We really appreciate them. We had dinner and drinks at the Yellowstone restaurant. We had the French onion soup, shrimp bisque and the steak wedge with the citrus cake for dessert. The food was amazing and the service was terrific! Grace was our waitress and she is fantastic. She is so nice and took wonderful care of us. After dinner, we stopped into the Union Taproom for a beer and some live music. Great atmosphere and service in here too. They have jam nights on Fridays and we stop in from time to time to play. It's always a good time. Overall we highly recommend checking this place out. Fun atmosphere, great service and fair prices for a night out. read more

The burgers were at best luke warm and would compare to a McDonald's burger for $26. Fries tasted alright but were freezing cold. Home run! Visiting for work and we decided to give this place a shot. Wasn't too busy for dinner on a week night but the wine tasting going on looked like it was a hit. I asked our waitress if she was a beer person or a wine person and she said wine... so wine it was and I was very happy with the cab I quickly nabbed off the list. I was in the mood for salmon and she suggested the blackened version and oh wow did it not disappoint! High five in the suggestions and the sprouts were our fav app dish. As I drive thru the country, I met some friends in this restaurant. I must say, this is a GEM ! The service was outstanding, the water was always full and the waiter took the time to go over the menu. The food was served correctly, the temperature on the steaks, the side food was great and even the chef took the time to come to our table and verified that we were happy with the food. The food was great but a limited beer Menu. I figured since they were next to a Microbrewery that was part of the same establishment there would be a better Draft choice. Also, we had looked at their dinner menu on the web site and when we got there the menu was totally different than the on line menu. The best thing about the Yellowstone is the service we were given by the waitress named Hope. We had just come in off of 14 hours on the road on our way up to Montana and this restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel. It was a great ambience, but the food was all a bit over seasoned. Obviously the kitchen was struggling because the food came in waves, was cold in some cases with some finishing by the time others were served. A co-worker and I were encouraged to go here for dinner and we were very glad we did! The historic location was great, and the food was excellent- especially for the price! I had the bison burger and my co-worker had a filet. Both were delicious! The drink menu was amazing and the bourbon selection was above par. Lastly, our server, Kirstin, was a pro. We had an item on our menu that was priced very different than how it was rung up and she did not hesitate to make sure the listed price was honored. I try to be generous and positive with all restaurants, but some things are simply unacceptable. I don't usually leave reviews, I'm no reviewer by any means, but this experience gave me the motivation to speak up. I've been in the culinary world my whole life and, for a kid, I'm well certified too. We walked in to find a sticky table and all the glasses placed upside down with no paper napkins underneath, which is just unsanitary. It took 15 minutes after being seated for water to arrive. Our server frequently disregarded us, and I know this might sound snooty, but considering the price point and atmosphere, her attire was not appropriate for the setting. As for the food, it took exactly one hour for just two soups and one salad to arrive. We were seated at 7:30 and didn't get them until 8:28 (yes, I started keeping track). My father's soup was practically gelatin, and my mother's salad was soggy because the server told us it had been sitting out for 30 minutes. The bread was cold, the butter came in Sysco wrappers, my mom's drink was incorrect and poorly made, and when my father politely asked if his glass would be chilled, the server said yes, but it came out room temperature. Not a huge deal on its own, but all these things started adding up. When the main courses finally came, an hour and a half after we were seated, the restaurant wasn't even busy. Our server told us they had three chefs in the kitchen, which made the wait even more confusing. The bison burger I ordered was a cold, burnt hockey puck. My father's pork was extremely dry, with the sauce absorbed and dried out. My mother's filet had no demi-glace, and both their mashed potatoes tasted like they came straight from the fridge. I will give credit where it's due: they offered us a free dessert, though it was a "hot butter cake" that arrived frozen. I'll also give them props for my little pineapple mocktail. I tried, for the first hour, to give them the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately, I just couldn't keep up. As someone who frequently works in a kitchen, the experience started giving me serious anxiety. My body felt physically uncomfortable. I'm not usually like this, I have a place in my heart for every culinary experience, but if I ever pulled anything like this in my kitchen, what would happen to me wouldn't be allowed to be said on Yelp. read more

Our waiter (and cocktail maker) Gibril was great and the service was impeccable. The Gin Martini he suggested was a true craft cocktail and was perfectly made. Steak was a bit dry but the fries were good. Gobetti was good and creamy however it tasted bland and a portion is small. Well I've got to say the food here was great. Dont miss out on the happy hour special get great drinks for half the price before 6 pm. Once sitting down you're greeted with bread and three different types of butter. The house salad with grill shrimp with ceasar dressing was great. I wanted to try a steak and potatoes from Idaho. I got that opportunity here and yes it was worth it. The ribeye with the mashed potatoes was outstanding. I added mushroom risotto which complemented the steak. Price and food was great. read more

On December 17th I wrote a review about this restaurant. It really had nothing to do with the food or the dinner service but more of the way we were treated when it came to reservations and being seated for dinner. Well I received an e-mail from the owner, Jennifer. She was very nice and apologized for the way we were treated and made a reasonable argument for us to give her restaurant another try. Being a reasonable people, my wife and I decided to give it a second chance on Friday, March 24th for my Birthday. We showed up on time, were greeted very nicely by the people at the front desk. We had a nice table all set up with a reservation card on it with our names on it. After bringing water and menus were then greeted by Jennifer, herself. She thanked us for coming and we thanked her as well for reaching out to us. Now to the dinner. First, a fresh baked small loaf of bread and butter was brought out. We could have made a meal just of this and frankly, we decided not to get an appetizer because the bread was so good. I ordered the grilled ribeye with compound garlic herb butter and garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. Best ribeye I have had in a long time, cooked perfectly to my specifications and cut like butter. Potatoes and asparagus were great as well. My wife had the wild caught salmon. nicely done, moist with some very bourbon maple butter, she loved it and I tasted it and very yummy. She had some asparagus and pan seared gnocchi. Bar drinks were very good my wife had wine and I had a peach creek, very good. Service was awesome, Kate was out server and I asked if she could provide some history of The Yellowstone and she proceeded to tell us its history and future plans for the building, very informative and charming as well. We ordered desert and took it home. Carrot cake for me, very rich, and warm butter cake for my wife, both delicious. All in all and very nice experience. We will be back. Glad Jennifer reached out to us and convinced us to give them a second chance. You may say by reading this review that our meal and treatment was because of my first review but we watched and listened to the other people dining there that night and they were all treated equally as well and all seemed to be equally pleased with the service and food. went to this restaurant tonight. thought we would try something different. We got seated and were given out menus. Took the waitress 10 minutes to come greet us ( there was only 1 other table occupied by 2 ladies) we ordered our food. the fried cauliflower was served with small plate. while we were still eating she came and reached over us to grab our plates. when my husband said he was still using his she said I am switching out this plate for your main course. About 5 minutes after getting our main course she started watching us close. After about 10 minutes she put the bill on the table while we were still eating. 5 minutes later while we were still eating she came over wanting to take our payment. We finally gave her the money and she ran our card but stood over top me watching to see the tip I was leaving her. We felt very pushed to leave. Food was mediocre at best. Oh boy. I never write reviews good or bad. Had to write this one. Take it for what you will? Wife and I came in on Halloween night a little before 6pm for dinner. Greeted warmly by the front of the house and seated in the bar, good so far. Nice live music started at 6pm. Food, however, was a disaster. We both ordered the bison burger. Waited almost 45 minutes for the food. After waiting about 25 minutes, the waiter explained that the kitchen had a "22 top" that they were working on and would try to get to our order when they could. Waiter never mentioned this to us when we were seated to a near empty bar and main dining room. He then came out a few minutes later and stated they "messed up the cheese on one of the burgers" so we would have to wait a bit longer. When the food finally arrived, the burgers were missing the blue cheese. I sent mine back to the kitchen only to find it returned to me with what appeared to be copious amounts of blue cheese salad dressing squirted on the burger. Ice cold pretzel bun, soggy fries and a bison burger that resembled a "slider" after thought for happy hour. Yikes. Wait staff was friendly and courteous and discounted the meal by 1/2. So, I'm glad The Yellowstone is trying to do something good in downtown Pocatello, HOWEVER, I can hardly even believe the level of apathy, lack of training and unfortunately horrible food put out by this restaurant. We came to try brunch, the coffee took 20 minutes to finally come to the table, it was Luke warm and bitter. My husband ordered pancakes and bacon. The bacon was old and cold! Waitress says , "yours is up next, hopf it won't take too long ." Seriously. So almost over thIs. If I weren't with so many family I'd have already out on this place. It's 8:10, finally received food. So far it's very good. Actually everyone loved all their dishes. They offered free drinks and gave 15% cards for next time. They did profusely apologize. Mother's Day Brunch was the biggest fail yet, we waited over an hour for our food and then we were not brought our orders. I was told my bacon "would be out soon" and my husband was left without food at all. After feeding my husband what I was served with we were informed his "salmon Benedict was served to someone else and it will be a long time to make another." The waitress literally said "do you want to order something that won't take so long?" An hour and TWENTY minutes after he ordered the salmon Benedict. I was never brought the bacon I ordered an hour an a half after we ordered, my husband didn't get his salmon Benedict at all.
