This eatery is in the Shoshone-Bannock hotel and event center, and is at what is colloquially called the "Fort Hall casino." Now I want to tell you about this visit because they have recently gone through a remodel, which I will say has created a much more inviting layout. Despite the impressive remodel, one aspect is identical to my other two visits to this establishment--The atmosphere is just lonely and sad. I mean they must have a busy time because, they brought on the bartender during this visit, they also had a hostess, and more than one server. So they must be expecting some business at some point--‍‍--right? It's too bad though, because the food is actually pretty good. The problem is though, the menu is really limited. I guess that's to be expected though, focus on preparing a few really good dishes. That makes sense to me I guess. The problem with the menu, is that not only is it limited, but most of the items on it, do not list the components. So you're ordering a wagyu burger, without knowing if it comes with lettuce tomato bacon cheese, nothing. You have to ask your server. Okay, that's fine, I'll do that. As a matter of fact, I will gladly do that because our server was fantastic. Didn't spend too long at the table, but when needed, she absolutely was a joy to interact with, and made sure we got exactly what we needed. All of the employees, we're just lovely. Sweet, and gladly interacted with us. As a matter of fact, the bartender who was lol just leaning on the bar because she had nothing to do and no customers, noticed that I was taking pictures of some of the artwork. She smiled and informed me of one of the artist's name. I am the inconsiderate one who has forgotten the name so quickly. I'm just really bad with names. Just know that the artwork is local artists. I like a good burger, so when it came time to order I ended up getting a Wagyu burger with pepper jack cheese, and no lettuce or tomato (I'm allergic to fresh tomato, I can handle processed sauces and for some reason I can deal with fresh cut Pico, but don't even touch me with a fresh slice of tomato), with mashed potatoes and gravy as my side. I will tell you, that Patty was probably pre-made, but in house and it was thick and meaty--boy I tell you that was a burger patty. I would have preferred some diced onion in it, but that would eliminate a lot of people from ordering their burgers lol. She got really nice looking 8 ounce pork chop and gravy, with some root vegetables on the side. As if that wasn't enough food, we gluttonously got an appetizer, the Shoban Nachos--which were the highlight of the meal for me. Ground beef and olives, spices, all atop pieces of puffy fry bread. I recommend getting those nachos. In addition to the toppings I listed, it normally comes with lettuce and tomato, but you know I took that off. I can't even think of nachos, and lettuce and tomato at the same time lol. Honestly, it was so good I should have tried it the way it was intended. Comes with a nice Guac & sour cream, and I think the other dip was fry sauce. We also got some sort of strawberry named dessert lol I was too full to really get into that, it was small so that was appropriate. All in all, the food is yummy, and a dang good meal if you're at the casino or hotel. I am just going to say, if you've got a decent amount of eateries in your hometown, you can find something equally as good, so driving to Fort Hall is not recommended. read more

Love the remodel of the Camas Grille at Fort Hall Casino. It seems bigger and more open. Includes a bar area to sit, eat and order drinks. You receive either a salad or bread complimentary when you are having a meal. I've enjoyed the firecracker shrimp, Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and the Bear Claw at different times. It takes awhile sometimes for your food but I wasn't in a hurry so I was ok. A couple small tables left due to the wait. The bartender (Dustin or Justin) is always the very best!! A Happy go lucky guy, makes good drinks (especially lemon drop martinis) and keeps an eye on his customers. Some servers need to smile, be happy and at least act like they like their jobs. A smile goes a long way. Otherwise the new remodel has been a nice improvement. read more

Food and Service-We visited on a Monday (1:15 pm), and were shocked at the prices. The restaurant itself had one large table of seated guest and two other guest tables of two. We waited to be seated for over 15 minutes, finally seating ourselves. I ordered the Three Sister Salad without black beans. My husband ordered the prime rib sandwich, rare. When they brought my salad, it had black beans in it. The waitress took the salad back. Fifteen minutes later I received the corrected salad. Twice after that, someone else brought out two more salads. After seeing I had my salad, they mumbled something about a "mix up". The waitress did come by asking if all was okay, no, my husband hadn't been served his prime rib sandwich. So, that was approximately 15 minutes after I had been served. When my husband's sandwich finally arrived, it was well done, not rare, and contained a lot of fat, grizzle and was tough. If this is the new and improved restaurant, it's awful. We won't be back and if anyone inquires, we will share our experience, which was horrible. read more

First the place is not very clean. We should have known something was wrong when the guy that finally seated us made the comment "your server should be here to take your order". We sat there for almost 15 minutes with no one as much as walk by!! There were maybe a dozen other folks in the room so they were not busy at all. When you have a "sports bar" you expect that type of atmosphere- the tvs were small and older then I am, picture wasn't clear, nothing being played over the speakers. I was skeptical when my daughter-in-law said she wanted to have her birthday dinner here. Having been disappointed by other restaurants throughout southeast Idaho lately my skepticism was warranted. However, the Shoban Bowl was fantastic. Frankly, I could have eaten my weight in that dish--tender meat, homemade mashed potatoes, brown gravy that might have been too salty but wasn't. Very, very good. My daughter-in-law ordered the Sho-Ban Nachos and was thrilled with the fresh ingredients and the yummy fry bread. Our server was on top of everything and friendly although he grew busier as the evening wore on. We will be back-must try the burgers!! read more

We were extremely disappointed by the service that we received. The one shout out was Mike, he was a very friendly hostess and went out of his way to make sure everyone was doing well. He let us know when he seated us that they were slow until they had more people come in at 9... with it being 8:57 we weren't to worried. They had three servers come in at 9 and we were patient at first. But when we noticed that people who came in sooner then us took their orders first when we hadn't gotten drinks yet I went and talked with Mike. Our waiter came right away and took our order, he was super spastic and was hard to give our order to. The table next to us who came in before us was fed up and left without their food after we had been there for 45 minutes. Unfortunately their food came right after. We got our food an hour and five mins after we ordered. We weren't in a hurry but we were there for two hours and saw tables with a different waiter rotate through a couple customers while we were there. We were patient but did not enjoy being ignored and only having our waiter come to our table for our order and to bring the food. He didn't even bring our ticket, I just went straight to Mike once we finished eating. read more

What used to be a fun break from SLC to Yellowstone is no more. We came up to try the seafood buffet, only to get to the restaurant and find out that the buffet at the Painted Horse was out of seafood! ($55 for a salad bar is way to steep for me.) We didn't want to drive the two hours home hungry so we went over to the sports bar, Camas. Service was horrible, we ended up waiting 45 minutes for a TACO SALAD, drinks empty and poor atmosphere. I wish I could say the place was crowded and busy but that just wasn't the case. Although we should have left, we saw the dessert menu we decided to add two desserts on to our dinner. We were celebrating a birthday. Unfortunately, our waitress forgot to order it. When we asked her about it, she was honest and said she completely forgot. I do appreciate the honesty. Located in the hotel on the reservation next to the casino. Very clean and pleasant place. Service was good. They serve beers in here even though on reservation. The Firecracker Shrimp was not very tasty and was a bit over cooked. However, both of our main dishes were great. My steak was cooked medium rare and my husbands steak was cooked perfectly as medium well. I loved the veggies. Meals are large in my opinion and wasn't able to eat it all. read more

In my 80 plus years of eating out I have never had a meal I could not eat. At the Camas Grill I ordered a hamburger steak with grilled onions. After waiting for over half and hour the hamburger must have been on the grill that entire time it was so over cooked it was inedible with about less then 10 onions of it. We had breakfast here: very good value. This restaurant is in the hotel next to the casino and is easily accessible. It is all brand new looking and we expected the prices to be higher. Not so much. I guess in the state of Idaho there is no life tables and only slot machines but I found some few machines are pretty fun to play before lunchtime. I ordered the Alaskan Fish and Chips. The fish was really delicious. The curly fries and the fry sauce were excellent and plentiful. The Cole Slaw was delicious with a bit of a bite that made it unique, but it was warm, not cold or cool. The size of the portion was very small compared to the generous portion sizes of the fish and fries. It would have been great if it were cold and a larger size. I ordered a "Philly" and what arrived was a tasty bread roll with a very thin wafer of meat and some onion straws and five red pepper pieces. It didn't resemble any Philly Steak sandwich that I've ever had, including those from a grocery frozen food option. I don't like to give poor reviews, but the several menu meals that I've seen and/or had from this place leave a lot to be desired. The service wasn't bad, but I wouldn't call it good. I eat out regularly, specifically at lunch and I just had to comment on the wonderful salad I had at the Camas sports grill. Their California salad is fresh greens sprinkled with fresh in season fruit like raspberries, watermelon and blueberries. A colleague suggested I add a sliced steak to the salad. It was perfect. The right amount of protein cooked to perfection on top of a lush, fresh salad. I have found my new favorite lunch. The service was also excellent. I was seated quickly. The server was prompt and attentive without hovering and the atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable. I highly recommend Camas Sports Grill. Give it a try. I think you will like it. read more

I gave it 2 stars because the people where so. I got the special which was the chicken parmigiana. It had a few sliced pieces of chicken underneath a mound of spaghetti. On top was shredded mozzarella that wasn't even melted. I would stay away from any Italian dishes and stick with basics like burgers or fish and chips. read more

I like the food...the servers are so very lazy...especially if they know you and don't like you...glad my mom goes because they like her and I usually not always get ranch for my fries and a take out box. I live in this community and love to support it. While not everything I've tried on the menu is fabulous most things are good and fresh. Love the BLT and the club sandwich. Passing through and stopped here to eat. Had the $14 Prime Rib and $11 Bison Burger. Absolutely fantastic. Came with amazing squash covered in cheese and bacon and a loaded baked potatoes that was oozing with real butter. We ate here out of necessity because we didn't have time to go anywhere else. My child enjoyed the pizza from the pizza/pasta buffet. Hubby had the prime rib. Ordered it medium. Came out closer to well-done (which he was ok with but I would not have been). I ordered the sirloin in whiskey sauce. I asked for medium-rare. It was more like medium-well. But since we were in a hurry, I just ate it anyway. The whiskey sauce was tasty. They topped it with grilled onions, peppers and mushrooms. That would have been delicious had they not burned most of the onions. That left a slightly charred flavor on top of the steak. But, like I said, we were in a hurry and it was also late and I was starved. So I ate it. The baked potato was delicious (but then, it's pretty impossible to screw up a baked potato). It came with plenty of sour cream and butter. The squash on the side came covered in cheese (which the menu did not state and which I cannot eat) so I didn't taste it. My other complaint is that even though the restaurant was mostly empty, they gave us a pager and we had to wait maybe 15 minutes to be seated. Which I don't understand because there were maybe 5 tables occupied. On the bright side, our waitress was friendly and cheerful and promptly refilled drinks.
