This time I brought my work team of 18, and the service was a bit frustrating - I would ask for another drink and it would be taken to someone else who ordered the same drink, 3 different times. We also got food we didn't order, but in the chaos it just set down and I'm sure we were charged for it all. Most of the food got good reviews. Walked here for dinner on a recommendation while we were babysitting. The weather was nice so all of the outdoor seating was taken so we ended up sitting just the other side if the wall that divided the restaurant area from the bar. Being on a bit of a street taco thing lately I went with the street tacos. Nothing overly exciting and a little bit dry. The children's menu was also a little too sophisticated for a two year old (and meals are not generally altered for him) They didn't have anything that wasn't too spicy for the little guy so he didn't really like anything on his plate. We ended up picking things apart on all of our plates and playing the bite count game to get him to enough to eat. The Yard Cafe has a really nice outdoor seating area with picnic tables and counter seating. The drink list was good but the food and service were just okay. The tacos were alright but nothing incredible. The shrimp one honestly didn't really even taste like shrimp, which was confusing. I almost couldn't tell the difference between the shrimp taco and the fish taco. I ended up paying almost $30 for two really small tacos and one beer, and our server forgot about us for a long time (at least 30 minutes) after we asked for a few more minutes to look over the menu. Stopped in on a Sunday for a few drinks and some lunch. The watermelon margarita was one of the best I've ever had. We tried just about every taco, as well as the chicken sandwich. All were amazing. We ordered the chips and salsa. Chips were fantastic but I felt the amount of salsa you get is way too small for what they charge. Bowls are too small to dip into. When I did order food from memory, the waiter brought it over so sloppily that the salsa spilled all over the plate and table. Went here with my 11 month old and wife and had a horrendous experience. For starters, the waitress was incredibly rude. When I asked her if they had high chairs she sad no and laughed at me. She then took our order after 35 minutes of being seated and us having to remind her several times. She reconfirmed our order after an hour, saying that she'd put the food order in at that point. Before our food was brought out, the waitress asked if it was okay that she mixed up our order with another table's order. She also made it evident that if we said we wanted our original order (not the incorrect order), she would be unhappy. Other patrons who arrived well after us, ordered, ate, and paid before we even got our food. We also asked for extra salsa and guacamole, which was delivered after our meal was done. Food was good, seemed like standard mexican fare to me, though. We sat outside, about 6pm on a Saturday and wasn't too busy. I ordered 4 tacos, the tacos were good, not great but not awful. They were much spicier than I had anticipated and a little too spicy for my enjoyment, personally. We also ordered chips and guac, I think the portion of chips is tiny, especially if you're sharing between more than 2 people (which you usually are, you hardly ever order those for yourself, right?). Nothing big to complain about at this restaurant but there was also nothing that made it stand out. There is also a high seat bar area overlooking the patio if you don't want to be in full sun.nThey allow dogs so bring your pooch in so I can pet it! They have a really nice rotating selection of beer...seriously some really great choices that you won't see most places. I haven't had a ton of food there because I always go for the chips and quac and the tacos, all of which are really solid! Hey All! Looking for a great burger in a great casual and quaint atmosphere?! Look no further. You've found it at The Yard! After a long day of being around the city and doing the whole shopping thing, my wife and I had the hankerings for a tasty burger and fries. We had driven past the Yard a number of times and decided to give it a shot. They have quite the tasty sounding selection across their menu (tacos, salads, sandwiches, and even brunch options) but we came for a burger....and a burger is what we had. The Yard Burger is all that it's cracked up to be. It's a 1/3 pound patty w/ pico de gallo, Cardini aioli, and butter lettuce on a poppyseed Kaiser roll. Add some cheese on the top and you've got yourself a mouthful of yum! They've got a full bar and some great sounding craft beers on tap. We had an event later that night that required us to not have alcohol on our breath, so we stuck to pop; but next time we go there (and yes, there will be a next time) we'll sample some of the barley and hops cocktails! I'd also like to try out the tacos and/or brunch items some day. They looked good as plate were coming and going from the kitchen. The atmosphere is pretty cool too. Great ambiance, service was nothing to complain about, but I was pretty disappointed with the food. We got a veggie quesadilla, fish tacos, and the quinoa bowl with cod, and every dish seemed to lack flavor. Needed seasoning, salt, salsa, and more variety in texture. First, the quesadilla was hard to eat because everything just squished out of it as you bite in. I couldn't even tell what was inside because it all just kind of blended together. There was no distinct flavor (or flavors), and I'm not even convinced there was cheese inside. I think it was just beans...? Honestly I couldn't tell. It was just kinda weird tasting, like when you eat something and don't know what it is. Next, the fish tacos were OK, but seriously lacking in flavor. No sauce or flavorful salsa. Just bland fish with cabbage and a little pico. I requested salsa, which came in a tiny little container that was filled about 2 mm (I'm serious) because it was apparently very spicy. I poured the whole 2mm on my taco and it was only mildly spicy, and also pretty flavorless. Hm... didn't want to wait for another 2mm serving and let the tacos get cold, so I just ate it as is. Meh. Then the quinoa bowl.... what a bummer. A bunch of random things just thrown into a bowl. No complementary flavors or textures. The beans were super cold and undercooked, almost like they came straight from the can, rinsed, then thrown into the bowl. I'm serious. I think the bowl, with the fish for (+$8) came to like $24 or something. What a joke.... This bowl needed guac, salsa, maybe some sour cream, ANYthing to give it some flavor and enjoyable texture. It was just so random and thrown together.... extremely disappointing, especially for the high price tag. One thing I will say, however, is the house marg was absolutely delicious!!! I could order those all day long. So, overall, the service was good, our waiter was nice and (for the most part) attentive, the margaritas were bomb, but the food was a huge disappointment. Last night was the 4th time eating at The Yard and it never disappoints. It was Friday night last night which at 9pm they only allow 21 and over so everyone ordered drinks with their food and music played throughout the cafe. Surprisingly there is a great amount of food selections from Tacos, Tortas, Tostadas, Empanadas, and more. My Steak Sandwhjch last night was delicious and my girlfriends Adobada tacos were tasty. I highly recommend this place for a place to go on a date on the weekend, or happy hour during the week, or a large group get together. read more

I'm pretty confused about the lower reviews on this one. The ambiance is killer; during the (very short) summer, their outdoor patio is the place to be. In the winter, they've got you covered with cozy wood tables on the inside. The food is killer. The chips are super crispy and homemade. The adobada torta is a must try--the bread is soft, the adobada sweet and spicy, topped with bean spread and guacamole. Delicious. Plus, the margaritas are boozy and not too cavity-inducing; just how I like 'em! I've never had an issue with service. I take myself out once a month. I spend the morning down the street at lady well's vitality spa then saunter over to the yard for my post soak lunch/ margarita. I love the open air seating (overhead heaters if it is chilly), the service is always on point and the food is fantastic. I always get the same thing for lunch- the ensalada quesadilla. Yum! Late nights, the bf and I come for drink specials and their $5 food menu (after 10). He is hard to impress but he loves the taco selection ;) I also bring my friends and especially people from out of town. Great neighborhood spot. read more

I thought i was ordering for delivery, which i have done before, but apparently it was for pickup. The call/voicemail came over 2 hours later. She ordered the steak salad and it was a really good amount of food and tasted great. I ordered a fish taco and a carnitas tacos. The tacos were beyond good. Well... I forgot to take pictures as usual. Imagine a wooden atmosphere with sports on in the background and a semi-new age presentation. The food is ok. The chips and salsa are horrible. The chips taste like the homemade, dry, chip of the century--hello oil! The salsa is a three-fer with a verde, red, and pico selection. The pico is like any other pico, the red tastes like paper and hand sanitizer, the verde is pretty good. I got the Camarones a la macha. It was presented with the shrimp and the sauce(which tasted like mayo) and some cabbage on a big lettuce leaf. The corn tortillas were ok.. pretty hard and didn't curl right--rather crunchy.
