On June 14, 2022, Chef Wright graced our home. He agreed to provide a culinary lesson to my 9 year old nephew. The menu was lasagna bolognese, Cesar salad with a yummy dressing from scratch and they made a bonus soup for us to eat later. The food was amazing, flavorful but balanced. You could taste the skill. We love having Chef Jay to our rental unit in San Diego for our college reunion. He let some of the kids watch him prep and cook and answered all the questions about what he was doing. He was super friendly to everyone. We had him do a Mediterranean inspired menu for 7 of us adults (we fed the kids dino nuggets and potstickers but they were jealous watching Chef Jay prep the food). We hired Chef Jay for a small private dinner party as a special occasion gift for my wife. We chose to have a dinner party with a bit of cooking class because we always like to learn. In brief, it was fantastic. Chef Jay was easy to work with, polite, fun, prompt, and a great chef. His biscuits were the best we've ever had! And he gave us the recipe. The food was wonderful. He gave us many menus to choose from. With lots of wonderful options. We like biscuits a lot and everyone at the dinner party agreed that Chef Jay's biscuits were the best any of us had ever had. And he showed us how to make them! And he gave us the recipe! He also taught us all how to make a new cocktail, which was a lot of fun, and we loved the cocktail. The Caesar salad was awesome, and he taught us how to make that from scratch also, and it did actually inspire us to make great Caesar salad ourselves. For the main course he made cabernet braised short ribs, and they were truly outstanding. All of the food exceeded expectations. Chef Jay was very easy to work with emailing him in advance to set up the date and menus with no problem at all.
