After competing in a track and field meet at Murray State, I went to Yelp to try to find the most tasty, diverse, authentic, and satisfying food spot in town. The Willow Bistro immediately caught my eye, so I didn't think twice. The menu had American, Thai, Ethiopian, Mexican, and Mediterranean inspired dishes. There's something for everyone, and you truly can get a taste of the world here. I love an extensive and global menu. But beyond that, I love amazing food. The food at The Willow Bistro is amazing. Everything is made from scratch in the kitchen, which should come as no surprise once you dig in. Everything we had was homey, flavorful, and clearly made with love and intention. Pro tip: do not skip the fruit curry. What a smooth, unique, and flavorsome blend of sweet and savory. I loved everything that was on our table, but this dish was the most memorable. The service? Also phenomenal. Our server was so kind, patient, hospitable, knowledgeable, and empathetic. She was a gem. The setup is also charming, clean, cozy, and welcoming. Everything about The Willow Bistro deserves 5/5 stars. If I'm ever passing through Murray again, The Willow Bistro will be my first stop. read more

I was going to say this place is good for Murray, but it's as good a meal as you'll find anywhere. The restaurant is located in an old house with a very interesting story. It's small inside but not crowded even when full. The feel is very earthy and reminded me of my west coast roots. All the food is made with fresh natural ingredients. I had the Turkey avacado panini with tomato soup on the side and their fresh squeezed lemonade to drink. The sandwich was excellent, soup was the best tomato soup I've ever tasted, and the lemonade was refreshing and perfect. I grabbed a banana peanut butter smoothie for the road and was extremely happy I found this place. I can't wait to go back. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

This is a locally owned legend in Murray and always consistently busy. The food is good and the staff are more than super friendly. The location looks like an old house and has different rooms and even an upstairs with a few tables in a couple rooms. Came in from out of town and looking for good food. Wife is a vegetarian. Close to 40 bucks after tip (to go) for TINY portions. We got literally the TINIEST salad I have ever seen. Like EMBARRASSINGLY tiny salad ($13.00) for a salad the size of a side salad you would get at any other restaurant as a SMALL appetizer. THANK GOD we added falafel but we are still starving after bringing this home. Ordered a panini and added chicken (thank god) because it was also tiny and a joke served with a generic bag of ruffles. Ordered a side of raw vegetable which consisted of half a tomato, maybe 6 baby carrots and a couple slices of some generic grocery store pre-cut cucumber. Maybe this is fancy food for the area or something. I don't know. But I got it home for my wife and I and I literally could hate eaten both meals and still would be hungry. I'm 180 lbs and not a huge eater. This was ridiculous. I called to ask about it and talked to the owner (who SHOCKINGLY made the food) and she predictably said they measure it blah blah blah and rudely hung up on me. Bottom line... good restaurants give you what you pay for, and shitty ones try to skimp on the portions and kill you on price. This is a SHITTY restaurant posing as something trendy and interesting. The vegan Alfredo tonight was very good. The steed mushrooms added to this comment as I switched from my usual Beef Nachos when they are one of the specials. We had a vegan chocolate chip cookie and took a couple pieces of Brianna's banana with chocolate chips bread which was also excellent for a late snack. I've been going here for four years and since the first time I ate here, it's been my favorite restaurant. It's a small sit down place to eat and has good service. I've tried many dishes and they're all amazing. I just can't get past the market plate. It's my favorite dish. The chicken is really nice and the rice is wonderful. Peg and I thought that tonight's special meal was the best we have had in over 25 years here in Murray. All of the 5 courses were delicious, adjusted for our specific spice needs, served without a rush or having to wait, followed up to get our comments, with background music and a quiet setting. Ladies and gentlemen, this place is a true gem of West Kentucky food. Even today, I skipped a convenient meal with some students in order to wait and eat some of their curry. I have been a few times, but I've only had the Massaman Curry with chicken. I suppose I should try something else...but I can't. It's a bit on the expensive side, but this is one of my favorite meals. Creamy, peanut-y, and consistent. The service is good and the setting is interesting. It's actually set-up inside an old home right along the edge of MSU's campus. You can clearly see the living room, the stairs, the kitchen, etc. It's not particularly interesting, but you can just get your curry to go. read more

Um yes please! The guacamole at this place is killer! The falafel is made differently than I'm used to but that is not a bad thing. Overly greasy falafel is frustrating. This was not, it was more steamed, and I believed flash fried to get it to stay together. It was lovely. The pesto rice was delicious and the side of black beans was great. My son loved his pita pizza and my husband loved his good though I can't remember what he got. And the peanut butter pie was devoured by the boys as soon as it got to the table so I'm gueSsing it was amazing as well. The bathrooms and the whole place were nice and clean and I love that the menus were under the glass on the table. Makes things cleaner. The customer service was fantastic. Friendly and helpful with any and all questions. I also noticed some days they have vegan desserts, sadly that day they did not, but that's understandable.
