This restaurant was simply fabulous. From the service to the decor to the delicious food and bottomless sangrias, this place sparkled as much as the decorations. We came here from my friends breakfast brunch and I'm so glad she chose this restaurant. I was happy to see the unique dishes they offered. It was really hard to decide on what I wanted to eat with all the tempting options. I settled on chilaquiles because this dish is very hard to find. I am so glad I chose it as it hit the spot. It paired nicely with the bottomless mimosas and sangrias. Their restaurant is beautiful and has many photo worthy spots. They also have a bar towards the back of the restaurant and patio seedings as well. This place was located in downtown Sanford and gives you an opportunity to walk off all the delicious food you just inhaled. I paid $50 for a reservation for a large group. Not an issue, assumed since we arrived on time it was like every other place and would be credited to bill. Not the case. They in told me it was a fee. A day prior asked if we could add 2 more was told not a problem, they didn't have room when we arrived so it was cramped. Took over an hour to get food once . Now the good. The food was good. We stopped in for a little date night and were seated right away. This is a smaller spot with cute decor, and it's a nice place to have a conversation over a meal and drinks. We ordered the margaritas, birria taquitos, ceviche, and tres leches. The ceviche was definitely our favorite, it was fresh and flavorful. The birria taquitos were okay, but I felt like they were lacking flavor. The margaritas and tres leches were enjoyable as well. Wildflower was exactly what we were expecting. We needed a cute lunch date and this place delivered. The service was great. We sat at the bar and the bartender was amazing and answered all our questions about the menu. We also asked him if our choices were good and he said we got a good mix. We enjoyed the tostones with chicken. We also had the rope vieja lunch special which was also a great portion and delicous. The watermelon salad was very refreshing. I would say the next time we go I would like to taste a margarita. This time around I had a Moscow mule but I have had better. We can't wait to come back and try new things on the menu. read more

The Wildflower is such a cool place! Located around the corner from Hollerbach's is this chic restaurant that still has a laid back atmosphere. After an afternoon of bar hopping, this was the perfect place to stop in for a meal! It was a pretty busy day so we sat at the bar, which I didn't mind. Our server quickly took our orders and make good conversation while we waited for everything to arrive! I went with an espresso martini to drink and the brunch burger (sucker for an egg on top of anything)! The burger was cooked to my preference of medium rare and the slightly runny egg added even more flavor to it! My martini was great as well and smelled amazing, so I definitely recommend this to anyone that likes these cocktails! They've got several items on their menu that had my mouth watering, so I'll be excited to come here again on my next visit to Sanford! read more

To celebrate my friend's birthday, I asked her to pick any place she wanted to go for dinner and she chose The Wildflower in downtown Sanford. The Wildflower is a Mexican restaurant that draws you in as you walk by and start to see the bright and modern decor with subtle nods to Mexican culture as you peak inside. The establishment is clean and our server as well as the others that I observed were very friendly and attentive. There were so many great options on the menu that we sought guidance from our server before we chose and he did not steer us wrong! My friend chose to try two of the small plates: the beef empanadas and the shrimp ceviche. She loved both dishes equally. For my meal, I chose the chipotle chicken with the black bean soup as my chosen side. Everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection! Our server heard that we were celebrating my friend's birthday and offered her a free dessert. My friend was unable to take him up on the offer due to her food allergies, so he gave us a discount on our bill. The decor in this place is so chic and cool. It felt tropical and like they hired an interior designer to make everything feel sleek and aesthetic. The service was good, and we were in and out. Granted, we sat at the bar and got one drink each before the dinner rush was in. The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is due to the small portion sizes. The drinks were quite expensive for how little beverage was to be had in the little glasses. Ik restaurants like to say it's all the same, but definitely felt like they priced us out of buying another drink due to the small serving. Onto the drinks, I really enjoyed the Crush Crush. I'm a big cosmo girly and this was spectacular for being used to tasting the vodka in a martini drink. I was very happy with the flavor and enjoyment I got from it. My boyfriend got the margarita and he enjoyed it, but also was a bit disappointed with the portion. I still recommend this restaurant if you're wanting to have a swanky cocktail outing, but maybe have a few other places lined up and don't depend on spending your day/night here. The service was good. I didn't have to wait a really long time for anything. The ambience is cute and totally screams brunch vibes. Really liked this restaurant. We were sat quickly and got our waters immediately when we sat down. Plenty of tables inside and they were all spaced well so it didn't feel cramped. More people came in and it got pretty busy by the time we got our food. There was only 1 waiter so service became pretty slow when we asked for additional items needed for our meal. The drink I got was delicious and mixed very well. The wings were pretty small and didn't have enough of a guava flavor to me. The burger was really good and the patty was thick which made it very filling. I was also able to try the Ropa vieja meal and it was juicy and flavorful. Their food options were great tasting, everyone in our party really enjoyed what they ordered. They offer bottomless mimosas which is great! However we constantly had to ask our server for refills rather than the usual consistent check in on our glasses, we were easily waiting 20-25 min for a refill which in a two hour time frame truly isn't worth it. Where to start when there is simply so much bad. We decided to order several of the small plates and just share keep in mind, one was a salad, and it still took over a half hour to get any food and the places wasn't even half full. The birria taquitos were dry as a bone and the consume couldn't do anything for them. Imagine overcooked pot roast and was made a week ago. The ceviche was bland with overcooked, rubbery shrimp. The queso with chorizo was cold and required a knife and fork. Ironically, the watermelon salad came out last and was bland with lemon juice and red onion being the only real discernible flavors. Service overall was exceedingly slow, which made ordering another drink an exercise in determining the cost benefit of a second cocktail while listening to the amped violin player drown out the room with Katy Perry covers. Easy parking in this sweet historic downtown Sanford area. Our first time here and I came with my boyfriend and friends from church. Very colorful decor and the design of the interior curated very well. I liked how spaced out tables were from other people. So you didn't feel on top of each other . Since we came in a large group, our server Alejandro was excellent and attentive waiter. Each person had different dietary needs and he accommodated our requests. The burgers. Chicken sandwiches to the Cuban bowls and Mexican breakfast. Everyone's dishes were flavorful, great value for the price and we all enjoyed our scrumptious and delicious meal. We will return soon. A group of girlfriends and I made reservations here for a Sunday morning. We had a nice table towards the back of the restaurant, close to the bar. The place is decorated very cute and it's spacious. Parking in the area was easy we just had to walk a couple of blocks away since there was a farmers market going on but luckily the weather was nice. To drink I ordered the espresso martini which hit the spot! To eat I ordered the Bandejita. It came with so many different things, I loved it! The little arepa pieces were so cute and the beans were so flavorful. I really enjoyed this meal. Our server was Madi and she was great. My friends and I were in Downtown Sanford looking for a nice bar in the area and came across The wildflower. The bar is really cute and big. We were greeted by the waitress as soon as we got in the restaurant. We were there a little before they closed so the kitchen was already closed and we weren't able to get any plates but we ordered drinks. All the drinks were delicious. Sadly, a few minutes after they gave us the drinks, they turned the lights on and the music off. I would've preferred to be let known that they were about to do that before bringing the drinks and we would've gone somewhere else because we had to rush and drink very fast without really enjoying our drinks. read more

We did table service with food and drink. The waitress was friendly, attentive and helpful. The food was good, the drinks were good, and the dj had a nice mix of Spanish music for everyone. We had a mix of ages at the table and everyone enjoyed the mix of music. Downtown Sanford had a decent amount of public parking at night and the area was popping we left at 11:30pm and things were just getting started. I wanna like these restaurants in Sanford. I hadn't tried this one. I finally did. I had some company down from Kansas City. He got a hamburger. I got some kind of little protein bowl that had sweet plantains rice a little bit of beans and a couple other things and my daughter got French toast. It was crowded there. The service was a bit slow . My friend had a burger and fries, he wanted ketchup rather than just bringing a bottle of ketchup they bring you it in a little NyQuil cup with an ounce of ketchup in it I was gonna have some ketchup too, but it wasn't worth waiting for him to bring me another little cup of ketchup, my friend from Kansas City he didn't like his burger. I don't know what what about it and my little bowl with the various foods it looked really nice had absolutely no flavor. That's why I wanted to get some ketchup. I got some hot sauce which they said they made in the house that took quite a few minutes also and it was brought in NyQuil cup also, I don't really get the whole bringing the condiments a little tiny cups like it's caviar, I don't understand. It was the noisiest restaurant that I've eaten at in Sanford. It was surreal how loud it was in there. I worked at the airports as an aircraft mechanic. I felt like I was getting off of a shift. I was really glad to be out of there. There was a Latin family that they were kind of loud and partying which was fine, but it was somebody's birthday. They sang happy birthday in English in Spanish and it was pretty loud and then they did it again so we heard it four times for the same family I'm not sure. Maybe they were royalty from some Latin American country. And that restaurant before the flower took it over. It was really beautiful and historic and kind of fit the historic theme downtown. They tried to turn it into a retro looking hipster place and it's a shame that they destroyed the old ambience that place and that was really a nice atmosphere before. For our three lunches it was 70 bucks I think before I tipped them so it was a bit pricey for not very good quality food and just loud beyond all belief. I wonder if there's some kind of sound Proofing they could put in or something they could hang from the ceiling, cause it was just painfully loud in there. read more

I will say that we enjoyed the ambiance and stylish setting. It was a very comfortable place to chat. We also enjoyed the drinks we ordered but found them to be more ice than drink. As far as food goes, we tried a variety. Nothing stood out except the prices. The ceviche was the biggest letdown. The flavor was alright but the shrimp weren't even chopped. Between that and the teeny tiny plantain chips it was quite awkward to eat. That combined with the fact that the plantain chips became very soggy very quickly due to the plating style-see pic. The shrimp tostones was the plate I was most excited about and lacked overall flavor. The grouper sandwich was good, not super memorable but pleasant enough. For the price though, would have been nice had it been served with some fries or chips. However, the grouper was the redeeming aspect of the meal. Ultimately finished off with French toast to share around the table. Another solid plate but there's nothing extraordinary about French toast. Nice service. Was handed water in a glass rimmed with lipstick stains, I only noticed when I was halfway done. I went to open my silverware for my meal & it was also dirty. When we finished to leave, I noticed the floor under our table and the entire restaurant was covered in dirt. Server was nice, but she seemed overwhelmed due to understaffing. Can't help but feel if the additional staff was helping, she wouldn't have been stretched too thin to notice the dirty glassware she was handing out. Outstanding food! We visited during happy hour, ordered from that menu the birria taquitos, pork bites, steak street tacos and from the regular menu, the chotizo brussel sprouts. Everything was very good, but the sprouts were out of this world. The margaritas were excellent, it was a two for one deal, were very good, no skimping on alcohol.
