What a great find! We were looking for a place to hang out while waiting for our take out order at a local Thai place and practically next door was this little gem. I'm not a beer drinker but I'm always willing to give something a try. Well, I found a beer I love! Everyone is so friendly. We aren't local but they sure made us feel like it. It's just a nice place to be. They have growler refills, a very well stocked bottle shop with an impressive selection of unique beverages and they offer a 6 pack discount. read more

Not bad at all!! And dog friendly! Seaside is a sleepy little ghost town right now since it's not summer!! And it is very cold, very wet and very windy!! I've been here for almost all seasons. January is their slowest. Though we barely got the last room at the hotel so it's not that empty. But it is hard to find doggy friendly spots. My puppy loves running on the beach for sunset but after that, the non stop rain got us soaked. Went to a few spots before passing by this! The lady behind the counter was so nice! Saw us soakedddd and she let us in. She knew my question too: Is he allowed inside? She said yes! Here's the rule. They have a rule sheet: pretty simple. Keep your dogs leashed! Do not let them sit on the tables and don't get in fight. Baci's good with all that! So viola! They have beers on tap! Pretty spot, big-ish, bright, open! And of course, they have wine. Prices are so beyond reasonable. My glass of wine was $6! I cant even get happy hour wine for that price in seattle!! Nothing under $10 per glass on happy hour! And, no tax! Yey oregon! We sat and had a drink or two. Met pretty old and funny local people too. Even shared their war stories! And their interesting jobs! Best part: dog friendly! Super affordable prices! And good wine list. it's right by the promenade. I'm sure it's crazy pack in summer but we loved our pretty chill January/post holiday vibes! Will be back. read more

Second visit to the Whet Spot? Even more awesome! The proprietor, Tracy, really knows her beer! And I absolutely love the fact that she stocks selections from Great Notion (Portland) in her beer cooler. I think there were at least 8 different Great Notion IPAs, DIPAs and sours in her cooler during our last visit (mid January). And of course, she had GN's Double Stack and their recent specialty stout - Double Fudge Coconut Brownie. Yeah. Double Fudge Coconut Brownie - a rich and decadent Imperial Stout fermented with buckets of gooey brownie batter, conditioned on raw dark chocolate from Ecuador, and served thru a huge sack of toasted coconut. How can that miss, right? If you are on the Northern coast, love beer and haven't been to the Whet Spot, you're doing yourself a major disservice. read more

Cool small spot to grab a few beers from all over Oregon. Only a few minutes walk away from the beach, this small establishment features great beers before or after visiting the beach. There are cards and board games provided so it is good for groups too. The caveat here is that any minors under 21 are not allowed, so no kids! We were just a few out of town visitors looking for a low key spot to enjoy a decent drink. This place was exactly what we were looking for after enjoying some Thai food from the neighboring restaurant. The Whet Spot is an awesome tap room and bottle shop featuring local brews and wines. The knowledgeable bartender was hospital, welcoming and gave us some great advice on other breweries and taprooms to check out in neighboring towns. She offered complimentary small half ounce tasters so we could make sure we were in even though larger tasters are available on the menu. Great vibes all around! I'll be back next time I'm in Seaside. read more

Loved it. Great selection of reasonably priced beers on tap and way, way more available in cans/bottles. And, we got to bring our dog in as long as she was well behaved (and she was), and she was very excited to sit with us and have many people coming by to give her attention and pets. And a dog biscuit when we first walked in! So 5 stars from my dog as well I guess, ha ha. Really cool spot and recommended stop. The woman working there seemed to be the owner or manager? Very knowledgeable and great to talk with. It's just around the corner from the most touristy area, so convenient and yet a bit quieter. We had some good conversation with some other folks there and just generally really enjoyed coming in. read more

My fiance and I came to the Whet Spot because we saw they had a cooler to pick up beers. The cooler was a bit smaller than anticipated but still very plentiful in beers. I was sad about the pilsner selection. I ended up with a HEF style beer and sour. My fiance got an IPA pack. The attendant was very nice and informative. Very clean and well laid out place. I would come back to check out the tap list and have a beer there. read more

What a cool little spot! Came here with some of my family members over a mini vacay to seaside. We were surprised at all the beers and ciders they had on tap (wine in bottles too)!! Excellent variety and excellent quality. They have board games to play while we drank... had a little too much fun! This location felt very welcome and inviting. They have a large cooler with a ton of bottled beers and ciders, non alcoholic drinks as well to purchase. My boyfriend and I just happened to see this place while walking back to our hotel, so we decided to stop in. Instantly we were greeted with an open welcome from the female employee. We had dinner plans, so we couldn't stay long, but I felt the need to get some things because the atmosphere and service was really nice. Lots of selection to choose from- beer, ciders, AND wine on tap! As well as bottles in the coolers to choose from. On our way out the door, I noticed there were a selection of board games to play. From the first greeting I knew I had found my beer home. A bunch of fresh taps, a hundred cans and bottles of killer ipas plus some great rarer gems. Went there a few minutes before they opened and there were 4 people inside drinking. The lady came to the door and told us they aren't open. She was rude and we would never go back. You'd think a small business would be about customer service and instead they are about drinking and not customer service. This place is one of the reasons we come to Seaside from the Portland area! It is a lovely tap room just off Broadway in downtown Seaside. The taps change on a regular basis, the cooler is filled with really good beer and there is wine tasting as well. Tracy has a great hand and palate for choosing the beers, ciders, and wines she feels contribute to a great experience in her tap room. You can get great desserts and bar snacks to pair with specific beers, etc. Growlers come in two sizes available for when we have to leave.....which is hard to do because Tracy makes us feel so at home we want to stay! read more
