Doom bar beer. Real ale from Wheatsheaf.
    Paul J.

A great local joint to have a pint if you're stuck at an airport hotel. It's a short walk from any of the northern airport hotels. It's a small cozy space inside, with a small bar and a few low tables with a mish-mash of couches and chairs. It's like a living room turned in to a pub. The locals sitting at the bar were friendly and chatted with us, and the bartender was friendly.

Nice place with good food and friendly staff. Be sure to order the steak. It's an experience I've never had before and is well worth it.

With the refurbishment they have new furniture and fittings and a new classical look. The outside has been improved and they also have new signage. The clientele range from 18 to 80+ with all appreciating the trouble free, female friendly reputation it holds. For added peace of mind there is CCTV cameras. The new extensive main menu has proved very popular. Food can be eaten anywhere in the pub or outside on the patio in the summer. Evening entertainment is well attended and includes weekly karaoke and disco. regular theme nights and live music. With so much on offer here i would say, it is a place to spend one of your precious evenings. You would love the chicken in cream sauce. It is the best

Has an UNSAFE totally weird, essentially inoperable (not a passenger) elevator.) Themgmt reported me as a "no show" to booking.com (so I couldn't leave a report on their website) and charged my credit card under another name (not the name of the hotel) and categorized the charges as "dining", all in an effort to sneak the charge past me. Anybody decent would apologize profusely for the UNSAFE conditions and not attempt to charge me (It was so unsettling and unsafe that I had to leave at 1:30 am and walk half a mile down the road to the Doubletree.)
