The Wayward is a bar everyone should visit. It is classic drinks made well. The atmosphere is fun and inviting. The service is always excellent. Jason the bartender is fantastic. The bar menu has excellent drinks. If you are like me and tend to go for the classics or like something to be made the bartenders can help you. If they are busy please be kind and patient. I love the free popcorn! It is self serve. You will see it in the corner when you walk in the door. Along with a small room with some arcade games too! The bar itself spans almost the entire room. There is seating on almost both sides. And there are tables flocking the walls and to the end of the room. The motorcycle hanging from the ceiling is a fun touch for decoration. Parking can be found on the street. It can be difficult depending on time of day. I generally park over on Abercorn Street or on Chippewa Square if I can find parking there. Grab a drink and some popcorn at the Wayward, you will not be disappointed. read more

Nice bar with great decor and pro staff. The drinks were spot-on (and I ordered one that was a little weird - bartender kinda grinned and said, "I haven't made one of those in a loooong time," and then whipped it together) and good popcorn noshes. I very much enjoyed the variety of early Eighties punk tunes playing; my wife of thirty years was amused to see them light me up so much. (Weird moment mouthing the words along with Minor Threat's straight-edge classic "In My Eyes" while slurping a swanky cocktail, but that's what makes life amusing.) read more

Free popcorn. Nice modern bar. Great service. For a large group, they also put out some amazing charcuterie for us all to consume while we probably annoyed anyone else attempting to come inside. The Wayward is a rather fun whimsical full bar with lots of craft beers, free popcorn, and a classic motorcycle suspended from the ceiling. It is not, however, a biker bar. In fact., the patrons seem to be rather upper class and all are very friendly. I had a couple of mixed drinks which were done with a generous pour of spirits while enjoying the good ambiance of the place. To have a good drink, and enjoy the ambiance of a fun bar, The Wayward is certainly worth a stop. read more

This review is only for the to-go Old Fashioned. Hubby and I stopped in while on a haunted pub crawl. It was stop #3 of #4 on the walking tour. We both ordered the Old Fashioned to-go. They use one large ice cube that fit perfectly in the cup. The bartender used Four Roses bourbon which we both really liked. It was a different experience drinking an Old Fashioned from a plastic cup, never the less, very tasty. We definitely enjoyed them! Also, the bathrooms were very classy and clean! read more

Cute upscale place to grab a cocktail. They have a game room accompanied with 2 ski ball tables ($1 per game). There's an ATM in the hotel next door which is attached to Wayward. Word of advice: Don't try to sit on "Toucan Sam". I was trying to be "cute" and thought it was bolted to the ground. Well it's not. Then when I started wobbling I thought it was like a see saw. Well it's not. Let's just say I'm surprised I didn't bust my "A.." like the bartender told us after the incident happened. He said a lot of other people make the same mistake, but it ends up being a lot worse. Overall cool place and friendly staff. read more

This was such a lovely place! It was very dark and inviting! It was small but in the best way. There wasn't any loud noises and everyone sits at the bar. I believe there was an outside area but we didn't go out. They had a popcorn maker and you could help yourself. I ended up getting the Wayward daiquiri which was very good my friend thought it was too sweet but I enjoy sweet cocktails. Would come back again! read more

If you are in search of a good old fashioned or a bourbon based drink, this is your place to go. With great cocktails, seating available inside as well as outside and free popcorn, you can't go wrong with this bar. The bartender, Tart is the most friendly bartender you will ever meet. He is very knowledgeable and knows a lot about the area including the best places to eat around. I tried the Boll Weevil and my friend tried the Peppa Pina and they both were delicious. I don't like sweet cocktails so these were perfect and refreshing. They have a room with video games as well but I didn't go in there. It's a classy place so drinks are around $12-$14 each but worth it. If you love speciality cocktails, I highly recommend checking this place out. Cheers! read more

Little gem in the lower level of the Perry Hotel. Kind of a speakeasy type place that will leave you nostalgic with the vintage toys and games. The bartenders have a strong cocktail game. We visited the Perry Lane Hotel "complex" last night for the first time The place is lovely, brand spanking new, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The Wayward is a quirky, fun, not-so-hipstery bar on one side. The long bar area has several bartenders taking care of the customers with stools at the bar. There are side rooms where you can sit (or even have meetings/events) and the one we chose to hang out in was a game room. There's a pinball machine, a could of video games, and skeeball!! We had a blast playing. They have a free popcorn machine with the treat served on giant ashtray-like plates. The drinks are a bit pricy ($7 for a Diet and Vodka that came in a lowball with more ice than liquid). We did enjoy the atmosphere and would love to come back with friends next time. Nice clean stop with good drinks. Not a dive bar. Get a good old fashioned. Kentucky of good mixed drinks to choose from.

Found this place by accident while visiting town. So glad we did. Bartenders are friendly and know their craft inside out. Top notch cocktails without the pretense that can go with that. The atmosphere is sharp but laid back in a playful kind of way: e.g. the selection of movies playing that were all so bad they were good. One caveat: the only food they serve is popcorn and bags of chips. So if you're hungry, go somewhere else first. We ended up here all 3 nights we were in Savannah. So.. this place is very new but a great spot already. One of the best spots for craft cocktails in Savannah. These bartenders take their trade very serious and consistently put out a very high quality drink. No shortcuts taken. I highly recommend for a date spot and if you want to actually enjoy the drinks you're spending $$ on. It can get a little busy since it's not a huge place and it takes a little longer to mix a proper drink so have a little patience if you go at a time when it's really popular. If you want to get boozed up with fast liquor then congress street is a better area for you. If you want to be social in a semi intimate setting and relax with Savannah's best, this is a prime choice. read more
