If I had been the one to purchase the gift, this would have been completely fine. But since it was a gift to me, it looks as if I returned the persons gift and didn't want it. When I kindly asked for a store credit, 4 employees all told me that they couldn't do that and there was in fact nothing that they couldn't do. I was happy to make the return and get another item but was declined, and when I was frustrated with this, the staff rolled their eyes at me. I had only heard great things about this store, but after this experience, I'm feeling upset and just taken aback. For $31, they can make that exemption, given the gift receipt was given, the item was fully tagged up, and the intentions were good. Unhappy that this is my first negative review I'm writing.

Half of the stores were unfortunately closed! There were a fair amount of shoppers present. Half of the stores present are just your typical chain stores. We bought two pairs of shoes and socks for our grandsons in two separate transactions…read more However, one transaction at 10:30 AM was interrupted with an afterthought to add socks, so there was a two minute delay to complete the transaction. Apparently, the transaction was inadvertently closed out, and then the shoes and socks were posted again. I saw the discrepancy (being charged twice for one pair of shoes) on my credit card statement, and called the store. I spoke with the store manager that researched this transaction electronic and with video tapes. What he found verified my recollection and the second charge was reversed. They also offered a store credit for my grandsons. I was glad they took the time to look into this and do the right thing. People can make mistakes. At the same time, purchasers are wise to check over their receipts and credit card statements.

This store might look like a solid sporting goods shop on the surface.. it's got a wide selection…read moreof gear for most activities ranging from corn hole to gold to even cloud-of-dust football, but dig a little deeper and the problems show fast. First off, the staff.. Friendly enough, but they don't know what they're selling in some cases and the green ones just aren't trained properly. Ask a question about a specific item, and you'll, at-times, get a shrug, a guess, or a gentle push toward buying something they think might work. Other times, you'll get a jbiwkedgavbke individual who can be friendly. On one end, It's the kind of customer service that leaves you doubting your purchase the second you walk out; while on the other, you'll be happy enough. All is good enough to fit the norm and I would give it a high rating, but what really turned my head the other way, though, is the direction this store is heading. They quietly got rid of their firearms section, clearly as a political move to appeal to the mainstream. That might earn them points in certain circles, but let's be honest, sportsmen don't follow woke trends, and we don't check our rights at the door just to make people feel comfortable. If a true sporting goods store doesn't stand behind all aspects of the outdoor and sporting lifestyle, then what are they really selling? In short: present day good selection, but a store that's lost its backbone. I'll be taking my business elsewhere anymore.
