Love this place. The staff are always very friendly and plenty of dog treats for our pup. This is less busier than the pub down the street. Gentlemen, I can tell you that this restaurant called The Waterfront doesn't seem to like foreigners very much. My wife and I arrived hoping to have lunch, and the first thing the person who greeted us asked was if we had made a reservation. When we said no, even though the restaurant was practically empty, they offered us a very small table right next to a column, despite my height of 6'5" and not being particularly thin. When I saw how they treated us, I decided to leave because I believe my money is worth it. I don't recommend this place to tourists like myself. read more

This rating is for the food, specifically the chicken breast with bacon cauliflower cheese, crispy kale and truffle potatoes. A spectacular combination of flavours. Worthy of a gourmet restaurant. I rarely post photos but this was worthy. Service was good. Seats are not the most comfortable but it's an old fashioned look that is common in relatively new U.K. pubs and bars. Cavernous Young's gin palace, with lots of outdoor seating. Light on atmosphere, but with views of the river, and Wandsworth Bridge. Seems popular with people in their mid 30s upward, with a lot of happy little dogs and rugby-shirted beer guts on display. Yaaaaa. read more

The Waterfront is one of the many London pubs in the Youngs brewery chain. Approaching this pub, my heart sank, as it looked identical to the Riverside pub on the river near Vauxhall Bridge, which is also a Youngs pub. Even the interior was similiar with lots of open space, bare oak wood and a mixture of lazy sofa seating areas and more formal dining a drinking spaces. Both are on the river with great views and part of residential, office and small retail complex. I have to say that I was not impressed with it's sister pub, so my expectations did not start very high. How pleased I was that the Waterfront could not have been further away from my initial gut feel. The staff were super friendly and efficient. The layout of the place so that the small party of six that I was with did not feel we were on top of each other and other diners. The place looked so clean, as did the toilets, when I made a visit. With started with a shared platter mix. Including Humous & stone baked flat bread, and pizza style garlic bread. I did not really touch this, as I wanted to save as much room in my stomach for the main course. Being a Sunday, I hd to go for the roast. My roast of choice was beef. It was really tender and easy to eat and digest. It came with the usual Sunday fayre. Roast potatoes, parsnip, carrot, kale and a huge Yorkshire pudding. I of course had mine with lashings of horseradish sauce! For a pub roast, with was about as good as you can get it. As it was raining when we arrived, we had no option than dine inside the pub. Luckily for us the sun was shining brightly by the time we finished out main course, so we retired to the terrace overlooking the Thames for dessert and more beverages. The desserts looked nice, but I had over endulged on the main, so gave it a miss. A bit off the main drag, so a difficult place to stumble upon. I would certainly come back again to eat. I'm not sure if I would make a visit just to have a drink though, as it lacked a bit of a pub feel to me. read more

When out and about in Wandsworth Town, you can't walk more than 5 steps without tripping over a pram or a yappy dog. This includes 5 steps within restaurants and even (shock! horror!) PUBS, especially if they've got a sunny bit of pavement outside. I find this highly irksome. This is because I like to drink pints sans baby and smelly dog (I make exceptions for pub cats - I'm a big fan of pub cats). The Waterfront is no exception when it comes to the pram- and yappy-dog-toting clientele. But, well, there's a hell of a lot more space at the Waterfront, so I'm not tripping over said pram and yappy dog. For this reason, I'm a big fan of the Waterfront. And, like its namesake would suggest, it's on the waterfront. It's a spacious, posh, waterfront Youngs pub with abundant outside space in the heart of yuppie town. Despite its over-salubrious appearance, however, the prices are totally reasonable. The food is pretty consistently palatable too. Therefore, the Waterfront is pretty much totally awesome. For as long as I'm living in Wandsworth Town, it'll be my local pub of choice. Even though it's a bit out of the way. read more

Nice venue, interior looks great and if your here for a beer it would be great. I did not think much of the menu considering the price they were asking. I suppose the position on the Thames puts the price up. I had the sharing board which I'm glad I went for as everything else looked a bit like it was either microwave or out of a packet. Service was a bit slow poor old student was working about 10 tables on her own on a busy, Saturday afternoon. Its great for pub grub. I won't rush back there's a place called gazette 5 mins away which is a better alternative if you want something a bit more up market. read more

Hanging with my sister, while on holiday & lovely this laid back, comfy Resturant/bar with a Fab view of the river. They have a yummy selection of bar food which I'm sure you will find something that suits you, it was tasty the few things we tried but it all looks tasty. Service was great, just remember to order at bar before heading to some of the nice oversized sofas outside or the inside area. Remember it's a bar/Resturant not a fancy place. read more

Ah The Waterfront, a Young's Pub, and one that they've spent a LOT of money on at that! Tucked underneath some rather outrageously expensive (and quite gorgeous flats) is The Waterfront Pub. Now, pub is quite a deceiving term, this is basically a rather nice gastro-pub from one of the largest breweries operating in the South West of London. For those who don't know, Young's is a large Brewery situated a couple of miles away from this very pub. They're very famous for their 'bitter' and own a whole host of pubs across the South East of the UK. But back to the pub. it's part of the Battersea Reach residential complex and is situated just by Wandsworth Bridge (in fact just the opposite side to the pretty famous Ship Inn). From here the pub looks out over the Thames and Wandsworth Bridge. It's not the prettiest of views, but the small landscaped areas try and make up for it. Now, the place is just down the road from where I live and I have to say I've probably never seen this place more than half full. So, why is it still open then? Well, I think it's mainly down to the fact that this was probably opened as a 'flagship' pub. It's had a lot of money spent on the furnishings inside, from weird tubular light shades to thin double-sided gas fueled fires, the place is light airy and spacious. it's a funky interior which does feel a little like you're in a hotel bar, but then that's never entirely a bad thing. The food is the usual gastro-pub fayre. Don't be surprised to see anything too exciting on the menu. It's reasonably priced, however, on my last visit I had a delicious (if rather tiny) pumpkin risotto and the times before that I encountered an overly greasy pepperoni pizza with rocket. Don't make it a destination place to eat, but if you're peckish after a few pints, you won't be disappointed. The place is really tucked out of the way, and you'd probably not go out of your way unless you knew about this place. Perfect for hanging with friends after a day playing in the park, or even for birthday events. Especially in the summer, get a hot day, like I did two years ago, and you could be sat outside watching the sun set, and the rive go by until late into the evening. Not a 'must-go' destination, but save it for if you happen to be nearby and you'll have a gay old time. read more

The Waterfront is one of Wandsworth Town's hidden delights. Its residential complex home means its interior is low on quaint quirks, and high on posh swank, but what it lacks in character it makes up for with loads of outdoor seating enjoying expansive views of the river. As Larissa and Simon have noted, its location in the modern complex hidden from the busy road to Battersea just to the south, seems to result in never being more than half full. This only strengthens its credentials as a great place to chill out while being at one with the riverviews. Inside, as alluded, is a more swanky affair: a mix of comfy chairs, bar stools, booths, with the bar in the centre. As a Youngs pub, the beer is the usual Youngs stuff, with a couple of foreign entries too (Leffe, Kirin). The food is a mix of standard pub fare and some slightly more exotic desserts - I recommend the unusually-flavoured ice cream. Both food and drink are reasonably priced. The wine list meanwhile is notable for having dessert wine on it, an inclusion atypical for a pub or restaurant in London. It does, however, have a couple of downsides. The most obvious when I was there was the clatter of helicopters making like Apocalypse Now into the helipad further along the river near Battersea Bridge. No less than five helicopters flew low over my river vantage point in the hour I was there, and the novelty soon wore off. I'm hoping this intensity of flights was more due to restrictions on the hours that helicopters can land there rather than a be a normal occurrence. That a seems to be a logical assumption to make as otherwise I doubt it would only be disgruntled pub-goers that would be unhappy with this arrangement. The other slight downside is more a seasonal one: that wonderful riverview seating ain't so enticing when it's cold. I believe there are outdoor heaters, but I've never seen them on, probably because when I've been there there have never been huge numbers of people there, let alone outside. Overall though, the Waterfront is definitely worth checking out if you want to enjoy a pint, a meal, or simply some downtime whilst gazing Battersea-wards across the river, and want to stand a good chance of getting a seat. read more

This is my local pub as all that I have to do is get the lift down there. If you are someone like me, which like those Older Boozers with smelly carpets, this pub is not quite like it. The approach is way more sophisticated which makes it feel more like a restaurant. However I think its a great environment and the food is good, proper quality chef. Highly recommend the 21 days aged beef burger and the Pork belly. The fish & chip is top however they do not serve a good quality Tartar sauce, instead comes a mesh of green peas. Beer range is not superb but its fine and if you like having a Leffe in a sunny day like me, please do not exceed 8 pints, it will cause some damage. The staff is too arrogant, don't ask me why. read more

Young's gastropub riverside pub chain is forever expanding but its a pity they don't pay much attention to the decor and service. This particular riverside is huge but its really decorated in bad taste with a mishmash of furniture scatterred all over the place.It has the feel of a bar rather than a gastr-pub.The floor to ceilings windows,chandeliers,centrepiece leatherbooths and tables of different sizes could be better organized. Anyway having picked the decor apart,lets look at the food. The starters were above average;an interesting(fridge cold) terrine made with Aubergines and Tomato Puree with admittedly some very high quality Gravadlax.The mains were a bit disappointing;the Mushroom Rissotto was bland and very unappetising.But the Caeser Salad with grilled Chicken was good because all the ingredients were fresh and we had generous portions.Had there been room for dessert then I would have had the Apple Crumble drizzled with Creme Anglaise. read more

A really good river pub. Food and atmosphere wise, it's not quite as good as The Ship nearby but I find it's sometimes a better choice - eg. when the ship is packed and you don't want to spend ages trying to get a drink. And also when you want pizza. The pizza at this place is phenomenal! I was surprised - in my opinion it's easily the best pizza in the area. The drinks are standard Youngs fare - the double chocolate stout is my favourite. One other point - the outer seating area is pretty nice, so a great choice when it's (occasionally) warm enough to drink outside. read more

This is a fantastic spot for a gorgeous day in London. Located right on he Thames in Clapham/Wandsworth, The Waterfront is true to its name and sits right on the river. Outside there are plenty of tables by the river and the interior is even more spacious. This is the ideal spot to grab a bottle of wine and watch the sun set over the Thames (and watch the planes fly from Heathrow!). So next time it's beautiful out, grab some friends or a loved one and enjoy some adult beverages at this riverside bar - it's worth it!! read more

The Waterfront has several things going for it. One its location lends stunning waterfront views, which add a nice ambiance to the experience. Second they are dog friendly. Also the food is decent: I especially like the pizzas and dessert (they serve a most excellent brownie to satisfy my sweet tooth). I've eaten there in the past and vowed not to do so again, lacklustre service and so-so quality. its location though took me back there just for a drink. However, there was a problem with the Peroni tap as it was flat and tasteless. The guy behind the bar though clearly couldn't have cared less - no finding out what the problem might be, I was just offered a different beer which I didn't want - no offer to refund even when I gathered my stuff and told him he might as well throw it away. Go further under the bridge and go to a decent pub instead. read more
