I almost cried (of joy) when I got my ring back…read more So let me start from the beginning. I reached out to various jewelers about wanting my old engagement ring (over 10 years old now) soldered. They were from the start honest and straight to the point. I finally was able to pop in and have them look at my ring to see if possible. They told me yes, left it with them, and to come back the following day. When I got my ring, which again I have had since my now husband proposed back in 2013, it looked fresh and new (the same way it did back then). The soldering looks amazing and the ring feels great. Thanks again for superb service.

The results were amazing (kudos to the craft person/jeweler who cleaned/enlarged my rings). The sales people were another story. When I asked the male sales person how much the enlargement and cleaning would cost, he responded, "Not a lot." Really? This was so unprofessional. Unprofessional Act #2: I had to call to find out when my rings would be ready because no one called me. Unprofessional Act #3. When my husband picked up my rings, the sales woman made a remark about how small the rings/my fingers/hands were. I am an Asian-American woman/mother who has been harassed by many White Women/White Men in Upper Montclair, Montclair, Cedar Grove, Verona & West Orange, NJ for years. It saddens/shocks me to admit the level of racism I have experienced in this area. I was shocked that the sales woman remarked about the size of my rings/fingers after we paid $150.00 to get these rings enlarged/cleaned. The lack of professionalism in Essex County, NJ is disappointing, yet no longer shocks me now that I understand how racist this area is.

It's something I want to wear to my sister's wedding and other special events in my life. The only issue was the band was broken and would open up as I walked, let alone danced. I took it to multiple jewelers that quoted me $800+. When I went to a Rolex store, they quoted me $18,000 and 2 months+ to fix it. Since it was purchased in the 70s, most of the shops I went to stated it took a "specialist". When I walked into Eva's, I could already tell this was going to be a different experience. The walls are filled with antique clocks and watches. You can just tell this is a family owned operation run by people with a passion for what they do. They take pride in their work and you are more than just a paying customer. The owner fixed the band on the spot in under 2 minutes, and the price was so fair I felt a need to give a 300% tip. He was the actual "specialist" Family owned business' like this are why I love living in this area. Go to Eva's Corner for your jewelry repair needs. My fiancé brought a ring that has been passed down to me to get cleaned and remove a stopper prior to our engagement. However, the ring needed to be bigger so I brought it back to Morré Lyons. I went to the store on a Wednesday and they fitted me for a larger size. When I asked if it will be ready tomorrow Karen responded with "maybe" and I said what about Friday, Karen then responded with "it should be, is there something special you need it for". I explained I am going on vacation and I would like to wear my ring on vacation. Linda chimed in with "why would you want to wear it on vacation". I became very upset at this point and it showed on my face. Karen then said to me, "what are you going to do? Cry about it. You will be fine".After going back to the store on Thursday I found the Jeweler BROKE 2 prongs on my ring and it needed to repaired. I went back Friday and they claimed they "fixed it" not even a week later the diamond FELL OUT. There were many other unprofessional events that followed this interaction. Including involving family members and then proceeding to lie about it. I would not recommend Morré Lyons jewelers to anyone.
