This was my first time booking a mobile hibachi company, and unfortunately, it was a very…read moredisappointing experience. From the beginning, I was in constant communication with someone via text message regarding my event. I provided an accurate guest count, but when I reviewed my invoice, I noticed I was being charged for more people than were actually attending. The event was scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM. The chef arrived around 6:30 PM but remained sitting in his vehicle until approximately 7:15 PM before introducing himself. It then took another 30 minutes to set up, causing a significant delay. The company was aware that I was hosting a large party, yet they sent only one elderly chef to manage the entire event. As a result, service was extremely slow. Our guests did not receive their food until around 8:30 PM, and the event did not conclude until nearly 10:00 PM. By the time many guests received their meals, the food was no longer hot. What should have been an enjoyable and timely experience turned into a long wait for everyone involved. Communication was also a major issue. The chef did not speak English and relied on a phone interpreter throughout the event. While I understand language barriers can happen, it created challenges when trying to communicate important information. One guest had a severe egg allergy, and we specifically informed the chef before he began cooking the rice. Despite being told, he still prepared an entire batch of rice with eggs, leaving that guest without a safe option. Additionally, the chef did not follow the order list that had been provided. Rather than asking guests which protein they had selected, he simply distributed food to people. Several guests received the wrong meats, and some did not receive what they had ordered at all. Another concern was gratuity. The invoice presented gratuity as a suggested amount, but the chef made it seem as though we were required to pay the highest gratuity amount in cash. That was both uncomfortable and misleading. To make matters worse, I contacted the company that evening regarding my concerns and waited over 24 hours for a response. I still did not hear back from anyone. I don't know if this was simply an unfortunate experience with a particular chef, but between being overcharged, the significant delays, the food order mistakes, the allergy issue, the gratuity pressure, and the lack of customer service afterward, I cannot say I was satisfied with the experience.

Naturally, because it was something new, we were a bit anxious about the experience. We weren't sure of all the moving pieces or how easy/difficult the process would be. When Ryan left on Saturday evening, our kitchen sparkling, it was like he had never even been there, except we were stuffed with incredibly delicious food. From my first contact with Ryan to the when he left my mom's house, it was all so easy. The menu was easy to decide on (Ryan has a huge selection of dishes he can put together). Ryan was easy going and guided us through each step. Ryan brings everything he needs, pots, pans, silverware, china, and food. He got to work right away, and when it came time to sit down, we were treated to an incredible feast. Every course (we had 5 courses) was delicious and elegant. We were served by Ryan's assistant. It was really like we were in a restaurant. I was eating with my back to the kitchen, and it was hard to even know he was there. He was efficient and didn't distract from our dinner (he was also willing to chat when we pulled him into the conversation.) If you are at all anxious about the process of having a chef cook dinner in your house, you shouldn't be if you pick Ryan. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
