Precocious to this week, we had a few good experiences! However, I placed two catering orders this week: one for 10/8 and 10/10. I called in the order for 10/10 first and had to call back to change the delivery address. I then placed the order for 10/8 with 24hrs notice. I received multiple emails that the order was received and confirmed. I even received a text on the morning of 10/8 that the order was on track for 11:30am delivery (GREAT!). I was away from my office from 11-12p and when I returned, nothing had been delivered yet. When I called at 12:10p following up, they said they were confused by the second order and just didn't fulfill it. Wouldn't you think common practice if there is confusion would be to reach out to the customer? Two phone numbers and an email address were provided during the order process for someone from Emery's to reach out and get clarification. Instead they left an office of 10 without lunch. Very poor business practice! I canceled both orders and will NEVER use them or recommend them to anyone in the future. read more

Liz was fantastic to work with, but the food was not as fantastic. They seemed to cut corners on ingredients, similar to how airplane food is. However, the cost is affordable. Emery's catering just catered our wedding and they were very professional. Elizabeth was amazing and helped with every step of the way accommodating throughout this odd time to get married. I must have changed the menu like 20 times. We ended up having a variety of sandwiches, salads and chips. They also provided the linens. I echo what another customer wrote. Liz was easy to communicate with, very responsive. However, I had a proposal set and within 2 weeks of that a tasting/finalizing scheduled. As with any wedding vendor, we messaged a lot about the details, which was a lot of work for both of us. I was happy with how the proposal turned out and in my mind set on choosing Emery to cater my wedding unless the tasting was terrible. However they emailed me in the evening four days before the tasting to say they no longer had my date available. I asked about having a day wedding catered instead as we had the venue all day, and they said they couldn't accommodate my date at all. I had no prior warning they would take back the proposal. Emery's did an amazing job catering our wedding at The Towers. Liz is awesome. She is super responsive, flexible, and willing to work within your budget to design your dream wedding menu. The prices are amazing compared to other caterers and multiple guests commented on how good the food was. The linens and plates were provided. We were able to purchase our own alcohol and pay for the bar services. My uncle actually said, "the braised beef was so tender you could have clapped and it would have fallen off the bone". Liz helped us with the table orders, the seating, and was just overall super helpful in the process which is stressful and confusing when you have never done it before. I would recommend Emery's to anyone planning a wedding or event requiring catering. I would also like to note that I have attended weddings where Emery's catered and it was also amazing. I recently had my first experience with Emery's Catering when I ordered drop off catering from them for my 30th birthday party. Overall I was extremely pleased with their service and food. It was a cocktail party, so I order an assortment of appetizers and all of the food was amazing! All of my guests couldn't stop raving about it. I found them to have a good selection of items to choose from and their prices were reasonable in comparison to other local caterers, especially given the quality of the food. They arrived on time and prepared all of the fried items on site to ensure everything was as fresh as possible. The gentlemen that delivered and prepared the food were so friendly and helpful, I wish I could remember their names to give them a shout out here. The only thing I was slightly disappointed with was the assorted pastry platter - it was mostly made up of small slices of cake, which is not inherently a bad thing, but given it was a birthday party, I had my own cake already and I was expecting a more diverse selection of pastries. Aside from that minor disappointment, I was extremely pleased and would definitely order from them again for future events! read more

Updating my review because they removed my original from the knot. I'm sure the ratings would not be as high as they are if this wasn't something being done. I was frustrated at first, but the complete lack of professionalism from their side is not ok. Please think twice before booking with them. We went for a tasting. Short rib was amazing Lamb not good Salmon also amazing. Spoke with Liz final details to be put into place so I could book their service . She sent me an email finalizing everything. I emailed right back saying everything looked amazing. I received an email (same day) stating they unexpectedly had someone put a deposit down for that day. Now this is my first wedding and I have no idea what I'm doing , but I would like to think that the customer would be at the least made aware there was interest for that date. I left the tasting thinking everything was all set to go only to be notified it's not. Super disappointed with how this was handled . I did email back asking for any recommendations, no response . I will not be recommending their service based solely on the way things were handled . read more

No bride should have to be frustrated on there wedding day. Thank you Emery's for NOT making my wedding day go smoothly. When the food is to arrive between 12:30 and 1:00 and does not show up till 1:45 with NO linens and cutlery and the staff are not concerned, there's a problem. We specifically told Liz we have people with SEVERE pepper allergies, black pepper was okay but all other kinds of peppers were not.....well several of our guest and one of the brides could not eat....BIG Problem. We ordered purple and yellow linens, when we walked into the room all the linens were white...........When my wife and I called to speak with the Liz or the manager regarding our concerns, we were provided with excuses, excuse me Emery's we didn't pay for excuses. My wife requested to speak with the Manager, a week and half later he returned her call...........lack of professionalism if you ask me. Emery's Catering provided catering and bar services for my wedding this past weekend at the Casino at Roger Williams Park. Emery's was an absolutely fantastic vendor from start to finish, and I encourage other weddings, parties, and events in the area to utilize their services! Planning the event with Elizabeth Silver was easy and fun. She was helpful, communicative, provided many options, and made many revisions until we got the menu just right. There were a ton of great options, and we got to pick exactly what was right for our special day, which was awesome. I thought their prices were incredibly reasonable, and something that everyone could find something in. Elizabeth was very willing to help work within out budget, and was even so kind as to suggest a baker who did our cake which we loved, too! We planned this wedding from out-of-state, and couldn't have done it without Elizabeth and Emery's Catering. Everything was prompt, professional, and fun - excellent service and appreciated the help in the planning process. On-site, Emery's did everything. The setup of the room was gorgeous - that team absolutely knows how to show off the gorgeous space upstairs in the Casino, using their decoration to bring out the beauty inherent to the room. The food was delicious, served hot and fresh - passed apps were tasty, dinner was excellent, and the bar was great. I will say this - I was impressed with the professionalism of the bartenders in particular. They took their primary duty - to keep guests safe and not overserve - seriously, which we appreciated and noticed. Very professional, and exactly what any host or venue should want in their catering and bar vendors. The catering staff was amazing. The head table attendant was kind and quick, made sure everything was perfect, and checked in with our special guests all night long. Emery's did the catering for my wedding this weekend at the Pawtucket Armory. Wow! What a great job. Everything was delicious. People were arguing over what was better, the beef or the chicken. People also thought it was cool that there was fresh grilled pizza at a wedding. I used to run a pizza shop, so that small nod to me was pretty cool. Elizabeth Silver is wonderful. She was super organised and helpful and put me so at ease that I didn't stress at all. Plus the different bar options they offer saved us a boatload of money. We provided all the alcohol for an open bar and they provided the bartending service and all the other supplies. It worked out great and we even had a bunch left over that we were able to pick up for future parties. TJ was also a huge help. Very nice, helpful and above all, wicked polite to my mom. Emery's was a pre approved caterer for out wedding site. We were able to pick 3 meal options, chicken farm, steak, and parmesan crusted fish. The food was delicious at our tasting. Emery's did more than just the food. They set up all the tables and appetizer stations, put out seating cards, organized items to go on the seating card table. Their point person helped getting everyone in line for the processional. They were very accommodating when I had miss counted the number of each plate I needed a week before the wedding. We were able to buy our own alcohol, while they provided bartender, cups and mixers for only $8/person. They did an AWESOME job!!!! read more

I don't think that it will be possible to convey how happy we were with Liz and the entire staff at Emery's on our wedding day. Right from our first contact, we knew that they weren't going to try to BS us like a few other well-known caterers (a HUGE plus). By design, their packages offer a lot of flexibility without sacrificing any of the quality that is desired for special occasions. Granted, my wife and I kept things simpler by design, but at no time throughout the process were we pressured to add anything to our package that we did not want. Our suggestions were respectfully considered and welcomed (such as a few mild tweaks to the entrees). Speaking of the entrees-they were a hit. My wife and I have both worked HUNDREDS of weddings from the foodservice end, as have many of our guests. Not only did we hear about how great the food was, we did not hear ONE complaint. To make a lot of long stories short, that is nothing short of a miracle. The flow of the day's schedule was seamless right from the beginning, even though we made a slight adjustment to the order of events as the night went on. A courteous and efficient staff only enhanced the day. We couldn't find anything not to like about Emery's, and we will recommend them to anyone who is looking for a caterer without hesitation. read more

The main entrees were a hit! We got the steak and salmon. The soups (lobster bisque and clam chowder) were also amazing. The sides were less exciting, but the buffet style meal went well. It fit well in our budget, and it was very convenient to have the caterers tend the bar and we were able to find deals on our own liquor (the B.Y.O. option). One downside was that the coordinators sent repetitive emails asking for details that we thought we had already provided, making for several back-and-forth emails during the already stressful week before the wedding. It was often unclear exactly what they were looking for in these emails and it was definitely an avoidable stressor. A positive from the day-of was that the caterers took good care of us (the bride and groom!) when it came to bringing plates of food to us and setting us up while others were getting food from the buffet line. One complaint from the day of was that the caterers were making a lot of noise with the plates when cleaning up the buffet, but this was happening DURING the maid of honor and best man's speeches, which was very distracting. The groom had to signal for someone to stop doing that. It was the one time that everyone is expected to be quiet during the entire reception so that was upsetting. read more

Emery's did the catering for our wedding at the Five Bridge Inn on Columbus Day weekend, and it was amazing! We met with Matt and Liz early in the planning process, and after a little confusion on mine and my husband's part, we actually ended up doing two tastings (which wasn't an issue for Emery's - thanks!) Liz was extremely helpful during the whole wedding process, and she was patient with us when we had our final meeting and had to sort out all of the little details (none of which my husband and I were prepared for, whoops!) All of our wedding guests have said that the food was great and the service was excellent (we decided on Prime Rib and Stuffed Chicken). They even allowed us to do a few vegetarian meals and didn't charge us extra for it. All of the waiters and bartenders at our wedding were extremely friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that I thought Liz was going to be there at our wedding (she was there earlier in the day), but everything went off without any issues regardless of her being there or not.The set-up of the tent looked absolutely beautiful. A BIG bonus is that you are able to provide your own alcohol and hire their bartenders and have them provide the cups, ice, mixers, etc for $8 per guest. It saved my husband and I a lot of money in the long run and our guests were very happy with our bar selection. And we got to take back all of the extra booze that we bought, so our home bar is well stocked :) Overall, I found the prices to be extremely reasonable compared to other caterers in the area. I know that they were going to be changing their prices after we booked our wedding, but at the time they were significantly lower than their competition. We were extremely pleased with the service that Emery's provided and would absolutely recommend them for a wedding or event. They helped to make our wedding a truly unforgettable day! read more

I can't say enough good things about Emery's. Planning a wedding from thousands of miles away (we live in CA and are from, and chose to get married, in CT) was overwhelming at times, but not when it came to the catering. Liz made the process seamless and easy for us, and for that we are so grateful. Prior to our wedding (and even after the wedding when she checked in to see how everything went), Liz was communicative and prompt in her responses. On the day of, the coordinator, Katie, was incredible. I provided a picture of the centerpieces ahead of time, and when I arrived at the venue, everything looked perfect - more beautiful than anything I could've imagined. For dessert, we used a different vendor (my mom's friend owns a bakery), so I left all the desserts in the on-site bridal suite, and again, Katie's work was unbelievable. She made our dessert table look flawless and beautiful. Throughout the night, all of the staff went above and beyond to make sure that everyone had a great day, and all of our guests have told us that all of the food was amazing. So many of them also told us it was the best wedding they've ever been to and I believe a large part of that is due to the atmosphere that Emery's created, the way their staff treated everyone and the food and service provided. We did not hear one negative thing. Finally, the price for the services provided were unlike any other place we found. For far, far less than every other caterer we looked at, our guests were able to enjoy multiple passed appetizers, a delicious buffet, coffee service and a four-hour open bar. We feel really lucky to have found Emery's due to the prices, the quality of service and how delicious all of the food was. I really couldn't have imagined a more perfect day and I feel so much of that feeling is due in part to the work that Katie and the rest of the team did. Thank you, Emery's, for everything. Maybe it was just an off night for emery's but they provided the worst meal I have ever had at a wedding. The whole table agreed that the potatoes and vegetables were horrible. My salmon was cold, colorless and had an odd flavor. My wife's chicken was slightly better. You could eat it if you removed the overly cheesy stuffing. The filet actually looked okay. The wedding cake looked good but was dry and tasted stale. Not a good meal for a wedding at a wonderful venue. read more

I have always been the one to plan all food arrangements for my agency's corporate meetings etc.. this was the first time I stumbled upon emerys page and was able to set up an amazing lunch for my coworkers that didn't involve sandwiches wraps and chips (although they offer great packages for that as well) and needless to say their quality, promptness, and accommodations more than exceeded expectations.
