This is my very first time writing an online review for any product or service. It's just not my thing (although I do appreciate others' reviews!). However, I was compelled to write this because of two exceptional PEOPLE, Lisa and Ken MacDonald, and the fabulous service they provided for my son's wedding. We hosted a magical backyard wedding for about 80 people at our home at the end of June and hired Tasteful Adventures to provide the food and catering services. It was the best thing we ever did! We had specific ideas in mind and they worked with us to come up with a menu that suited our vision as well as our budget. So easy and wonderful to work with! The food - wow! People are still talking about the fabulous food at the wedding. We had stations, passed hors d'oeuvres and a buffet. Many of the items were fabulous recipes proprietary to Ken and Lisa: empanadas, mole, arroz con pollo, marinated swordfish, puttensca, marinated cauliflower, etc. They also prepared and elegantly served the best roast beef many of us have ever had, along with pasta primavera, salads, etc. And we loved the dessert presentation - individual fresh fruit cups with optional real whipped cream. Did I say fabulous?!?!? From the time they arrived at the house that day, I did not have to even think about the food. They cooked it, set it up, served it and kept it coming. And after the party ended, they left my backyard and kitchen all picked up. I look forward to my next opportunity to use Tasteful Adventures. Meanwhile, Ken and Lisa participate in farmers markets in the area so it's great to know I can stop by and say hello to these wonderful people and sample their latest creation. read more

I simply cannot express our thanks to Lisa and her team for making my daughter Lauren's bridal shower a fabulous event!! We went completely off menu and requested a favorite holiday meal of Lauren's, which I, her mom had tweaked many times through the years. The recipes provided to Lisa were full of notes, adjustments, food stains, measuring changes, etc. I knew it was a daunting task I was requesting as no-one wants to try to make "Mom's recipe"...... however... from passed Hors-d'oeuvres to the fabulous meal to dessert, everything was perfect!! Lisa and her team did an amazing job. The food was spectacular, better than mine I'd say!!.....the presentation was beautiful, the whole team was professional, extremely helpful and very "behind the scenes". Most importantly, Lauren was so happy when she saw what Lisa and her team had made for her it made her day that much more special!! Even dealing with an arrival delay of 30 minutes, which was due to circumstances completely beyond their control, (think road bike races, lane and road closures etc), all was ready on time and done so professionally!! I would recommend Tasteful Adventures to anyone within their service area and will hire them again for any and all catering needs! They are truly a 5-star caterer!! Many thanks to Lisa and team. We had booked Tasteful Adventures for our October wedding. The experience as a whole was amazing. Lisa was always on top of everything and was extremely flexible and open to changes and new ideas. We had a different vision in mind when we started and, as that vision changed, she was always happy to accommodate and collaborate with us. We scheduled a tasting for a pasta station and our h'or d'ouvres and- It. Was. AMAZING! The food was delicious and everything was done to our liking. No pre-order/pre-made finger food here, all chef-driven and full of flavor. They have lots of cute serviceware options and a lot of opportunity to personalize. Our wedding venue cancelled 60 days out and we were forced to move and, unfortunately, could no longer have Tasteful Adventures as our caterer. Lisa was extremely gracious and fully refunded our deposit, no questions asked. It was a relief to have it sorted so quickly when we were devastated and scrambling. 10/10 would recommend to anyone wanting a personalized boutique experienced caterer. read more

It's a party that will be talked about for years! We held an engagement party for our son and his fiancee (and her family) at our home last weekend. Of the 30 people who attended, more than half were Dominican, some not speaking English. I was panicked about what we would serve a group of people we had never met and whose food preferences were foreign to me. Then I found Lisa and Ken. I told Lisa about the party and she came up with a Puerto Rican menu, with Arroz con Pollo, Carne Mechada, Rice and Beans, Tostones with dipping sauces, and Tres Leches cake. I can honestly tell you that every item was delicious, plentiful, and well-received. The guests were thrilled with the dinner and dessert and I felt so good that they all had fun and left happy. Cannot thank Lisa and Ken enough. I will definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone! read more

Lisa at Tasteful-Adventures catered my mom's 85th birthday party last weekend, and she was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. It was a family event, and there were some finicky eaters in the crowd, so I had to go back to Lisa a few times to make adjustments to the menu, which she was always great about and happy to adjust. We had a couple of special requests, one of them being a smoked salmon platter that wasn't on their regular menu but she was happy to do it for us. And she made a couple of suggestions, such as the corn elotes, which was delicious. Everything was very tasty and everyone had only positive things to say about the food. From beginning of the wedding planning process to the end of our reception dinner, Ken, Lisa, and the team at Tasteful Adventures were tremendous. Not only was the food GREAT, but they are just sweet, thoughtful, and easy going people to work with. Our families raved about the meatloaf, were so excited about the clam chowder, and found a new favorite in the bacon wrapped, bleu cheese stuffed dates. We chose Tasteful Adventures as our caterers because of their commitment to using quality ingredients and transparency about what goes into the food they prepare, but we'd recommend them again and again because of how great of people they were. Ken and Lisa have catered 3 events for the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra so far - there will be more! The food was excellent and creatively themed around our concerts. They took great care with every detail. Being a bit of a control freak, I usually worry about everything, but by the time we were doing our second event together - I knew they would have everything under control leaving me to attend to my other duties. We can't say enough about how amazing/ effortless it was to work with Lisa for our son's backyard graduation party. Her commitment to careful and thoughtful planning, and flawless execution truly ensured the success of our event. We had sort of a southern comfort/ BBQ theme when it came to the menu, and the food was exactly what we wanted--delicious, family-friendly and raved about by all our guests (grandparents, young children, and everyone in-between!)! My wedding caterer canceled with 10 days notice, and I went online to find a replacement. THANKFULLY I found Lisa, and she helped me put together a delicious menu that the guests truly gushed about in no time flat. They LOVED the beet hummus and Mexican beef! She even came by the venue early to see how the set up would work, and advised me when she thought I had too much food (instead of just trying to make extra money by pushing me to get more). I am a customer of Ken and Lisa's and one of the first to taste test their empanadas. Their committment to use organic, locally sourced ingredients in their recipes shows in the quality of the final product. The homemade goodness cannot be beat. The instructions to heat are very easy to follow. Within a few minutes, you can experience a taste of Latin inspired cuisine. They have a great variety of empanadas to choose from and you won't be disappointed in any of them. Definitely a deserved 5 star rating. read more

I hired Tasteful Adventures to cater an employee outing. My goal was to provide a true New England Style Lobster Bake. Lisa and her helpers went above and beyond. Not only was the food very high-end and delicious, but the visual display was beyond fabulous. I thought the pricing was fair and the food was fresh, beautifully prepared, and original. I recently experienced a fabulous dining experience provided by tasteful-adventures. They are a small catering business that ensures that they create food that fits your style of eating. They recently designed a three course meal and delivered it directly to our door hot from the oven. The Brisket that was the main meal was incredible, tender and flavorful. I just hired Tasteful Adventures this past weekend for my daughter's Bridal Shower Brunch and everything was delicious. The French Toast skewers were a big hit (so different from the norm) and there was plenty of everything to go around. The owners are very flexible and creative with their offerings. So great to have such excellent, healthy food in the intimate setting of my father's home. Lisa and Ken handled everything from the linens and glassware to the wine selection . . . and everything in between. They were responsive but not intrusive. I wish I had taken pictures - delicious food, very appealingly displayed and served. They were professional and efficient. I would recommend them for any kind of event from something private at home to a more formal event, like a wedding.
