We just had our wedding at Bournedale a couple of weeks ago (September 2012) and with no exaggeration at all, everything was perfect. Darin and the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful, not only to us but to all of our guests. The venue itself is fantastic, the beach, the lawn, the wrap around deck for cocktail hour... it had everything we wanted. We also loved the ability to have people stay on site, it allowed the party to continue in whatever form it happened to take. Some of our guests were a little hesitant about staying in the cabins, but I think for the most part it worked out for everyone who did. It's not your average setup (i.e. a hotel) but it's far from roughing it. It really allows people to take advantage of the place, and brings everyone together in a cool way. And for those who don't want to stay, there are hotels nearby. Easy. I could go on (great food, boat rides during cocktail hour...) but to sum up, Bournedale gave us everything we were looking for in a wedding venue. Decide what you want in a venue, do the research, and if this place seems like a fit for you, I wouldn't hesitate. read more

I had my wedding reception at Bournedale on 9.10.11 and it was amazing!!! I wanted to have an all night wedding. I heard about bournedale and it was the only place I looked at. From day 1 on the team at bournedale was accomidating to every need. All of my guest have been raving about how it was the BEST wedding theyhave ever been too! The food was great and the stations were perfect. No choosing what you want to eat a month before. You have plenty of choices the day of! My guest are even still talking about the staff and how friendly and helpful they all were. I can not imagine my wedding could have been any better anywhere else!! I had my wedding here Labor Day weekend of 2009, and it was awesome. I still look at the pictures and am amazed at how everything was exactly the way I wanted it to be (except for my justice of the peace, but that was not the doing of Bournedale), even though I was nervous up until the day of. I am especially picky about this stuff because I am in the Food & Beverage industry, have a Bachelors in Hospitality Management with a focus on event planning, at work in F&B at a high end hotel in Chicago. They have done some great renovations over the past few years - I went to a wedding here in 2007 and the grounds are better kept and the bathrooms were redone. I had my ceremony on the beach, a cocktail hour on the patio overlooking the lake and then the reception was held inside. The food was amazing - I did stations with a pasta bar, and I still get compliments from friends and family about how delicious it was! Darin, Robin and the rest of the staff were amazing and extremely accommodating, even keeping all of my flowers, which were delivered a day early, in their walk in cooler overnight for me. My husband and I never had to lift a finger the whole night - Robin got our food for us (so we were actually able to eat) and she kept my champagne glass full the entire evening. It was like she was following me around with a bottle! I did the weekend package, which included a campfire on the beach after the reception and use of the camp cabins for my guests. We also had breakfast served to us the next morning, during which all the staff checked in with me, my husband and my parents to make sure that everything went the way we wanted it to. It's definitely more of a laid-back type of place, but I loved the lack of pretension. My husband and I are fun people and have fun-loving friends and family, so it was perfect for us! I don't know what the first poster is writing about in regards to the pricing; as far as wedding packages in the Greater Boston area, Bournedale is competitive, especially given that you get SO MUCH. read more

Went to wedding here..When I first looked at the website to check out for directions and photos, I thought the place looked nice. I saw the wedding package prices and thought that they didn't see too bad. Well after experiencing the wedding, they are too high. The staff was friendly, but the reception hall was in rough shape. For the price they were charging it needs some upgrades. Here is some stuff I noticed inside the function hall 1. The paint was all scuffed up everywhere especially near the dance floor and fireplace which is where the bride and groom took most of their pictures. 2. The gas fireplace was falling apart at the bottom (Once again in all the photos) 3. Cheap Tent rental chairs, uncomfortable. For there pricing they should be comfortable with linens over the chairs. 4. The lighting was horrible. Fluoresent lights like a VFW hall. 5. The bathrooms were in rough shape too, beat up. Need a remodel badly. 6. The waitstaff and the kitchen staff were very undressed. They were wearing T-Shirts and Jeans with Bad wording on it and a apron walking around all the guests of the wedding. 7. I witnessed one of the kitchen staff members who was setting up the appetizers, he was trying to get an eyelash out of his eye right over the Fondue. Probably fell in there. 8. Can see right in the kitchen, no door, and they were playing Rap music and could see all the under dressed kitchen help. Could here Rap music playing while Toast was being done for Wedding. I would not suggest this venue unless they do some big improvements. read more

We got married at Camp Bournedale September 15, 2018 and Darin and his team handled everything from A-Z....from my emails throughout the year with 100 questions, setting up all the décor we dropped off and being our day of coordinator they were absolutely wonderful. I can't recommend them enough. We didn't have to worry about a thing. All our guests raved about the food, service and overall experience. We had so many people tell us it was the best wedding they ever went to. Leading up to the "big day", I always heard time and time again "Something will go wrong...but don't sweat it, cause it will all be ok and no one will notice". I had my wedding here on 9/20/2008-and can not say enough great things about this place! I planned the whole entire wedding from out of state and Darin the manager was so kind to answer all of my millions of questions. We had our ceremony outside over looking the water, they set up all the chairs and made arrangements for our handicap guests to escorted down to seating area. The reception was inside the set up was exactly the way I had pictured for my wedding day! The Food was not only delicious, but plenty for extras, the staff was kind and very accommodating. We loved our wedding at Bournedale on September 4, 2010. Since we were engaged Christmas of 2009 and didn't really plan on having a wedding right away, which means we didn't have a year or so to plan! I started looking at venues with my sister in March and April. I found the Bournedale Function Facility on line and thought the pictures were nice and the prices were reasonable compared to what we had been looking at. My fiance, Dan and I decided to take a look and went to the property - we met Darin. Since it was early spring, the leaves were not out yet and the property was under some renovations it was really hard to imagine what the property would look like in the summer and fall months. Darin was very open to working with us and our budget and we both loved the idea of having a bonfire on the beach after the wedding and having some of our guests stay on the property after the reception and bonfire. The planning process was easy and Darin had a great menu to pick from. Darin made himself or one of the staff available for us whenever I wanted to bring a family member or my bridesmaids to the property to show them where we were going to get married. When we went back to the property in August to take another look and firm up details the property was beautiful! The landscape was perfect the lawn was nice and green and the beach was spectacular! Darin really made everything so easy. Our wedding was perfect the grounds were beautiful, the reception room looked great - Darin even made sure the bar had what we wanted to drink the night of our wedding. The bonfire was a the perfect end to our night - to sit and relax after the wedding with all of our closest friends and family. The staff was great and everyone was helpful and they were dressed nice and neat and everything was clean. It was really a great experience. I can't say enough about Bournedale.. our guests keep telling us what a great setting we had for the wedding. We will definitely recommend it to friends and family! read more

There are so many great things to say, I really do not know where to start. I can say that if you want a wedding that is fun and relaxing this is the place to go. Let me begin. We arrived on Friday for the rehearsal party, it was nice, we sat out on the patio that overlooks the beach. The staff was right there to answer any questions and help you with anything you needed. We were able to sit outside and have our dinner (more on the food later). The reception hall is lovely, you can see water from any window. The beach area is perfect for your ceremony. The way that Steve set up the chairs on the beach ( more on Steve later) it was so intimate. Now if you don't like being on the beach there is a beautiful grassy to have your ceremony. Guys are going to love this, the wedding was not until 5, plenty of time to get a softball game in. Take a ride on the boat. The ladies gathered at one the guest houses and did the hair and makeup thing for the wedding party. If you can arrange to have your hairdresser come in and do your hair go for it, Less stress and running around. As the guest arrived they were driven down the beach in the golf carts, its great for your older guest. The golf carts were going all night taking people to their cars or houses. The Food...Excellent...We had stations, its the way to go. The stations were: Salad... Steamed Clams...sweet Mashed potato...I know who would think it...but so good all kinds of toppings Chowder.....Went back for seconds The Beef....Cooked to perfection Ice Cream Bar......Very nice. The Chef and his staff cooked up some real good food.....you will be happy. When the reception was over were gathered at a campfire that the staff had set up. You could stay as long as you wanted to, the golf carts were there to take you back to your house. The next morning we were served another great meal and off we went. The Staff......It did not matter what you asked for or who you asked they could not have been more helpful. Darin and the staff were incredible. Steve, I mentioned him earlier. He is just awesome. I swear there were 3 of him, he was everywhere. By the way one of the golf cart drivers was the owner......A sweetie. Anything that the Bride and Groom wanted for their day was taken care of. You cannot ask for anything better then that. So to all of you Bride and Grooms, if you want a wedding that people will smile about when they think of it this is the place for you. We fell in love with the venue at first sight. It isn't your typical ceremony/reception hall. Yes it is known also as Camp Bourndale, but do not let that make you count this place out. The food, customer service, and features rival anything you would get at another venue. If you have any doubts, check the place out when it is set up for a wedding. Darin, the venue coordinator is fantastic. He is professional, flexible very responsive and accommodating. We added an open bar the day before our event and he was able to make it happen. We had two vegetarians and one gluten free menu needed no problem. The food was fantastic. There are 3 hot passed appetizers plus a cheese/cracker/fruit station. For dinner there is a salad station and buffet. You can have other stations as well. We got nothing but complements on the food. It is on a pond so your guest can tour the pontoon boat...you yourself can even have a unique entrance (like i did) and enter on the boat. This was the first time any bride did it but Darin was able to get me on the boat at a different location so they guest wouldn't see me nor would I be waiting on the boat a half hour before. They have golf carts so you guest can be driven right to the location and my bridal party was even picked up so they didn't have to walk. But my favorite part of this venue...you can stay overnight right there and there is a bonfire. There are options for either house or cabins. There are 6 fully furnished houses which can hold up to 40 people. The cabins have cots which you need to bring bedding for but are heated have showers and bathrooms in there. None of our guests had to stay in cabins. We were able to bring our own alcohol to the bonfire which was great since my brother in law brought home made beer and wine. The one thing I would change would be to book the venue the night before the wedding so we can have our rehearsal there. Since a lot of my family was from out of town would have saved on hotels the night before and could have just be relaxed and enjoy the pond activities, basketball ect (and soon the indoor pool and jacuzzi) Although we had plenty of time to set everything up Check out Bourndale Function Facility you will not regret it and you will have a magical unique day. read more

If we could give Bournedale 10 stars, we would. Our wedding this past weekend could not have gone better. Our guests raved that they had an incredible time and that the facility and staff were amazing. Bournedale is such a unique venue that offered us overnight accommodations with the opportunity to continue partying into the wee hours of the morning. They have it all; wonderful coordination with Darin and Robin who were willing to help us through every single detail, no matter how many questions we asked. The chefs made an amazing meal that our guests are still talking about. We were married outside on the beautiful lawn, just next to the beach, and the fall colors surrounding us were amazing. Our guests were well cared for from start to finish. All of them were SO impressed with the entire experience. We simply cannot speak highly enough of this venue. We recently got married at Camp Bournedale (Bournedale Function Facility). When we started to look for venues for our wedding Camp Bournedale was first on our list and it ended up being the ONLY place we looked. Once we visited we decided it was the place for us. It was a different way to do a wedding. My then fiance and I wanted something laid back and we loved the chance to have friends and family sleep over in the cabins and continue the party after the reception. The bonfire sounded like something we would love as well. The day and night went off without a hitch. Darin, Robin and the rest of the staff were so accommodating and helped to make our wedding day amazing. The owner even helped out the day of the wedding and was so friendly and welcoming! We had the most amazing time and know that if we had done it anywhere else it would not have been the same. All of our friends and family haven't stop talking about how awesome and unique it was. The food is terrific and the atmosphere is one of a kind. I would pick it all over again. My husband and I are even talking about how fun it would be to do it again in 25 years for our anniversary (lol maybe on a smaller scale). We had about 140 people and 75 of them slept over. It all just worked out perfectly. We highly recommended Camp Bournedale (Bournedale Function Facility). P.S. I see someone mentioned the rough shape of the bathrooms. I am pleased to report they renovated the bathrooms as well as the front of the building about 6 months before my wedding. It all looks amazing. My daughter's wedding was held at Bournedale on 9/3/11. It was perfect! Darin and Robin were so wonderful seeing to all our needs. We had 140 guests, 100 staying overnight in the cabins. The cabins are rustic but you are just sleeping there and it is great to be able to party and enjoy the bonfire and walk up to your cabin. The wedding party uses several houses on the grounds that are very comfortable and great for getting ready. The food was good, the brunch the next morning was a great way to say goodbye to all the guests. I would recommend Bournedale to anyone looking for a unique unstuffy wedding atmosphere. We had an amazing wedding and all of our guests were very impressed with the facility. 5 stars!!! read more

Bournedale Events Facility is a hidden gem located just off Rt 3 in Plymouth. My daughter wanted a P-A-R-T-Y. We wanted a nice venue and great food. Bournedale has it all! Hors d'oeuvres on the patio and grounds started the afternoon. There was plenty of room for the younger kids to have a good time. The stations were great. I was concerned about "buffet lines" but with the stations everyone was getting what they wanted, when they wanted, and the line was very short. Darin and Robin were attentive to our every request throughout planning and execution. It could not have gone smoother. With a young crowd coming to the wedding we wanted to be sure accommodations would be close by. Bourdale had both houses and cabins available for the guests. The house we stayed in was beautiful. We wished we could rent it for a week vacation. The cabins, although rustic more than met our guests needs. The "after-party" was a camp fire on the beach. We were assured the fire would be maintained until the last guest left the beach area. At 7 am the fire was still going. And then there was breakfast. As parents we wanted the wedding to be great. We recently attended a wedding at this facility, and tho the setting and food was great, the accomedations left MUCH to be desired. The "cabins" were just a step above a European Hostel. 8 beds in one room with zero privacy. One bathroom with NO HOT WATER!! Broke and/or missing screens on the windows and no curtains or shades. We got married at Bournedale on May 21, 2016 and we can honestly say it was the best day of our lives, partly thanks to how amazing Darin (the wedding coordinator), and everyone else at Bournedale! We booked about 2 years ago (had a long engagement) and had a long time to plan/iron out details, and Darin was so great with my 100+ questions along the way. Darin is caring, down to earth, so patient, and responsive. First of all, the pricing of Bournedale is great. You get so much more than what you pay for! Secondly, if you are looking for a unique venue and more of a weekend experience, Bournedale is the place! They do not do rehearsals (which honestly you don't need because Darin and Robin are there to guide everything the day of). The property is gorgeous in of itself - love the lake front and the wraparound porch. Our guests loved staying in the houses and cabins (they seem to keep buying and renovating more houses each year) and riding the pontoon boat during cocktail hour. Everything went off without a hitch! We have been to many weddings (so have our guests), and both myself, my husband, and our guests truly do feel this was the most fun and unique wedding ever! Definitely do the beach bonfire! The food was also AMAZING!! Everyone loved the breakfast the next morning; it was really great to celebrate one last time and say our goodbyes the next morning over delicious bacon and eggs! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to have a fairytale wedding weekend!! We are crossing our fingers someone we knows books so we can come back as guests!!
