The amenities in this building are new, and nice. The girls in the front office are nice and helpful as well. But unfortunately there are some serious inconveniences with living in the building.
If I would have seen an honest review like this before moving in, I would have 100% chose my other, cheaper option I was split between.
To have guests over, or food deliveries, you must go all the way down the elevator and to the lobby, or side door to physically let them in yourself. There is absolutely no way to ring them up to your apartment. You absolutely must go all the way down the elevator to retrieve any deliveries or friends.
This means you have to stop what you are doing to let your friends in. If you are sick in bed, and want food delivered- you must go all the way downstairs to receive it.
They claim this is for security, but I think it was just a poorly thought out plan. I know of at least 5 Luxury apartments in a 2 mile radius (I frequent because I have friends that live there) that also use the Butterfly system but are able to grant temporary codes. This allows their guest to access their lobby, then the elevator to get to their apartment. This is beyond convenient and what I expected from The Vixen, charging more than these buildings I am speaking about. I didn't even question it since I saw the Butterfly system and knew how it worked at my friends apartments. I think this works to The Vixens advantage when trying to get people to lease.
You also will become your own package manager, as you have to keep giving out new codes to all your carriers - even though most online orders do not give places to but shipping notes, so you must keep updating your address with new codes every time you place a new order.
There also seems to be a lot of maintenance issues - they are fixed quickly which I am thankful for, but it has been surprising. Some of which are leaks, which freak me out because it's why I had to move out of my last apartment. One of the units I wanted to view during tour, was unavailable because it was flooded... they assured me it was a tenants own doing - but then maintenance mentioned to me last weekend he was coming to the building due to a leak. Then this morning, I went to the parking garage and there was a huge pipe burst right near my car...
I was super excited to move in to a new building, but I am now truly regretting moving into the most expensive spot I've lived before, with the biggest inconveniences of any building I have lived in. read more
