I'm assuming the rent must just be too high here as they can't keep businesses open for long. I feel for the businesses that are still here, there are pros and cons. I guess for the businesses that are still standing there is less competition for them which maybe is a plus but the bigger negative is that without cute shops and 50% or so of the businesses empty, you really are losing foot traffic. I really hope they can find a way to bring the lakes back to its former glory. As a positive I appreciate that they have kept the lakes and grounds nice. It's definitely a nice little path to walk after dinner and transports you into a more tranquil, beautiful place. I do like the restaurants that are here and just wish that there was more variety though and even some cute little stores to shop. I do hope Erewhon coming to this shopping center might give it a little boost. I understand not everyone wants these kind of stores creeping from LA into Ventura County but if it's going to bring business and some new eyes on this side of town, then I'm all for it. The lakes used to be a place I frequented when I first moved to Ventura County but much less over the years as businesses have come and gone. This area is very promising and I do hope we will see some growth in the next few years.

This courtyard has a Target which is 2 stories, Planet Fitness, Blaze Pizza, Pressed, Crumbl, Shake Shack, Western Bagel and other places. There decent amount of parking here as well in the back lot or underground. You can dine outside too since there some outdoor seating with an umbrella. We had a wonderful time eating at Blaze Pizza while getting to go from Western Bagel and Pressed.

The first time we came by, it was springtime, so the nearby hills sported a coat of green grasses. Not being as familiar with this side of town, I was pleasantly surprised to see the scenic backdrop as an aspect of shopping here. There's at least one restaurant here that I want to try, and I do come back to Jo-Ann's, so I won't be a stranger to this local plaza. Guess I'll have to pay attention to what else is here, too.

When driving into the plaza it is best not to enter from the entrance right next to Vons as there is heavy pedestrian traffic entering and exiting the store.

This well-kept and cozy mall offers guests both elevators and a central staircase to connect the two floors. The parking lot isn't large, which might make parking difficult. During our visit, we were fortunate that a visitor was leaving a parking spot just steps from the main entrance, so we got great parking.

It's very convenient to the freeway, with lots of free parking, plus various restaurants to refuel you during your shopping adventures. The stores are good sized with elbow room and high ceilings. The exterior facades were designed with a mix of architecture to give the effect of a village, not a monolithic samey-samey feel. We stopped by two weekends ago while hunting for decor supplies for our daughter's baby shower. My destination that day was Michael's. Dear Hubby headed for B&N to enjoy the periodicals section while I did my thing. That day I didn't have extra time, but I have shopped the Ventura Kohl's previously. There's also a Pet Smart and Sprouts in the plaza. Noted that StoneFire Grill took over for Macaroni Grill. Lots of palm trees grace the parking lot to remind you that you're in Southern California and near the beach.
