I was dreading sending my treasured videos off in the mail and waited way too long to do this! Through a referral I found The Video Editor (Steve). What a blessing! I dropped my videos off to him at a secured office space, in person, and immediately felt comfortable handing him my 35 treasured tapes. What I got back was amazing. I was so impressed I grabbed my parents slides and tapes for him to digitize them too. I would recommend Steve to everyone I know... don't put it off any longer! read more

Steve was able to digitize a VHS I had that was very valuable to me dating back from 2005! The work was done in under a day and the price was very affordable! I received a downloadable link to my content as well as a usb stick for backup. I was originally going to go with a digitizing service from Walmart/Costco but I am so happy I went with Steve instead. Accepts most forms of payment. Currently located within an office building on the fifth floor. When you walk in just ask for him and hell be with you shortly. No need to pay for parking if you are there less than thirty minutes. read more

I have used The Video editor a couple of times and found they are fast, reliable and very efficient plus very affordable. I took my old Beta and VHS tapes in and they put them on a Zip drive. I also was able to take some if my sons VHS tapes from his high school theater performances and get them on a couple of Zip drives. One for him and one for me. The Video editor is 5 star company that will help you preserve your memories. I highly recommend them. Sally Elliott, Costa Mesa read more

Very well done and it was done in only a few days. The owner was very helpful and kind. The cost is reasonable.

Getting my VHS tapes from the '90s transferred to DVD has been on my bucket list for years! Thanks to Steve, this process was quick, easy and very affordable. So glad I found this valuable resource! read more

Steve Kosch, The Video Editor is awesome. I had hundreds of 35mm slides, and years of 8mm and VHS video that he converted to digital. He put them on DVDs and on a USB drive for me and my siblings after our parents passed away. And he did the conversion within a week! This will make an awesome Christmas present for them. Thanks again Steve- I so appreciate you!! read more

I had 60 videos of the last 40 years of my family's life on tape in a variety of formats. The Video Editor did a superlative job digitizing them. I was so happy when I saw the final product. Excellent customer service all along the way. You won't find a better partner for preserving your memories. I can't think of any other more precious gift that I could give our kids. read more

I have used The Video Editor on multiple occasions. First, to have my wedding VHS tape transferred to DVD and a couple of other times for VHS and Super 8 transfers to DVD for clients of mine. Each time, the services took about 2-4 weeks to complete. The quality has always been great, the prices are fair and working with Steve is always easy. I will continue to use his services and refer him out to others! read more

Awesome work and great to work with. Transferred a bunch do different kinds of media into dvd and mp4

I first discovered the Video Editor in 2009 when I worked with one of their editors for several months converting 125 8 mm home movies from the late 1930s to 1988. The project took about 6 months to organize the films in chronological order and then to select music from each era so it would be enjoyable to watch them. It was a great Christmas gift for our family to be able to easily access these precious films, as we have now for many years. Recently I received an email from Steve about transferring the films onto flash drives, which now gives a new generation of family members portability and access to their family history. I brought back my DVDs from 2009 and picked up flash drives for gifts this past Christmas. It was both a re-gift and a new gift that everyone greatly appreciated. My next project with the Video Editor will be to scan family photos that are in very bulky albums that take way too much space and once scanned, to create books for our family and especially for our children. Thank you, Steve! read more

I've been using the Video Editor for many years, for all types of projects, Including corporate and personal. Steve has always produced first quality results. I won't use anybody else, as he has been so reliable over the years that I couldn't imagine finding anybody else who could do a better job. I highly recommend this firm. The projects I have submitted have always been fairly priced and the work has always been completed on time or sooner. No project is too large or too small or too complicated for the video editor. The results have always been spectacular. Jim G. Newport Beach, CA read more

Steve is THE MAN for transferring your precious VHS tape to DVD. First, he is going to understand that your old tape to you is more precious than gold. Second, he has all the equipment and skill to turn that tape into a flawless bunch of 1s and 0s. Highly recommended. read more

I give this place a 3. They had my VHS tapes for 6 months. After 3 months I contacted them. They said Groupon orders take longer. So I waited until we reached the 4 month mark. When I inquired the response I received was, "we will fulfill". At 5 months I asked if they could mail the tapes back to me as I was getting concerned. They responded saying they were starting on them. At 6 months and 1 week I finally received my finished product. read more

I recently lost my father and decided it was time to have my parents reels and videos from our childhood converted to a USB drive. Not only were they transferred perfectly, they were returned to me very quick and in a neatly packaged box. I also handed all of my own family's VHS's and other tapes to the Video Editor so now I have all of our memories in one spot too. From baptisms, to graduations, weddings and now grand babies, Steve has consolidated the drawers and drawers of videos for us. The Video Editor's prices are quite reasonable and I've referred him to my entire family. read more

Steve was awesome and great to work with. I had some dvd's that I needed to get converted to video files. Even though I owned the dvd program, the company that I bought it from only had an on-demand option in which they would charge me monthly for something that I technically already owned. These days, dvd players aren't as common as they used to be and having files on your laptop/computer makes a lot more sense. Steve was professional. prompt, and was able to covert the dvd's to computer files for a great price and speedy time frame. Thanks again Steve! Will definitely use again in the future. read more

The Video Editor (MacArthur Blvd., Irvine): "Great" is an understatement. I have used (and will continue to use) The Video Editor for several years to convert slide shows into modern technology, giving me peace of mind that photos of the family will survive for the generations. Recently, The Editor created a DVD with music for a friend's memorial at Sherman Gardens, Corona del Mar. The music blended with the photos perfectly. The video was very well received by family and friends. Instructions were followed completely, with fast turnaround and decent pricing. read more

Saw some of the one star posts and was a little hesitant but the 5 star posts seemed more legitimate. I'm glad I took the time to read more and not just go with a few poorly written rants. My suggestion for any consumer considering working with any business is to make sure your expectations match what they can effectively deliver. The Video Editor did a perfect and professional job converting an old video for me. He was friendly, fast and very affordable. I would highly recommend using him and plan to continue to use him and refer him for a very long time. Thank you Video Editor. read more

I sent them by video tapes to convert to DVD, over 6 months ago. No one answers that number or has returned 1 phone call or email that I have sent. Not sure what to do next about getting back my family memories. read more

I'm from out of town, our videos are PAL. Trying to convert it to NTSC has been hell. I'm converting from 3 VHS tapes to DVD Haven't picked them up yet so not sure what the cost will be... Very reliable and quick service. I'll always use him for for our transfer/video editings.

I finally got ahold of the owner who was very short with me. He tried to upsell me even though I had a Groupon. It took roughly 6-7 months to get my tapes transferred to DVD and many were terribly transferred. I'm surprised this company is allowed on Groupon. Sad read more

I have worked with The Video Editor twice; the first time 10 years ago and last month. Both times Steve was professional and easy to work with. His price was fair and he delivered as promised. The first project was relatively straightforward putting a historic music video together on a CD for a fraternity reunion. The recent project was creating another fraternity music video but it was much more dynamic than the 2008 project because of the need to incorporate newly received pictures into new music videos. This project's media is on flash drives which is a longer lasting technology than CDs. It was very important that the music video quality was high. I am very pleased with the final result and value provided by The Video Editor. I and will go back to this business the next time I have a similar video project. read more

BEWARE. I would just pay them to just return my videos without transferring them. I have called and email multiple times with no response. I sent my videos to them in April and this is January 2018 and still have not received them. He finally responded after I sent a complaint to groupon. He said he was just now working on April 2017 orders because he had so many that came in during that time. He said that my CK had expired, whatever that is, and I would have to pay him an additional $12.95 if I wanted to receive my DVD's. That was 12 days ago and I have not received them and have not heard anything from him. I read more

I bought a groupon. Paid for send shipping and included a check for return shipping in October of 2017. That was my wedding tapes. I have not yet received my tapes and they do not respond to any messages or voicemails. I am scared that i may not ever get to see my wedding tapes again. The guy does not respond. It truly sucks. So stressful. read more

This is the second time I've used The Video Editor to transfer media to DVD. The first time I only sent a few old video cassettes to see how it worked and if I liked the final product. The returned DVD's were great. It was so good to watch old home video again. This time I sent a batch of about 30 videos. Each one was reproduced and rubber banded to the original. Any writing on the original video was placed on the DVD. It took several weeks to get the return but it was well worth it. I felt the price was reasonable as well. One video contained no recordings so I wasn't charged for it. This was a good experience for me and I would recommend The Video Editor. read more

I mailed my videos to this company in early Jan 2018. After 4 months, I called several times with no response. I just received my package back stating they refused it....after it being delivered and paying a huge shipping fee to ensure the safety of irreplaceable memories. Horrible, horrible company! read more

It does not get better than this company, Great Friendly Fast Service and First Class Work, I will always use this company, Well Done, Steve

After waiting 4 months! I finally got my VHS tapes turned into CDs. Inexpensive using groupon. But for 4 months Video Editor could not tell me if they had received my tapes. I labeled all my 12 tapes with a name but all CDs were sent to me with out a title or name. I rather pay extra for a professional label title on the CD so I know what's on it. I'll send my other VHS tapes to another business and pay a little more for a 100% professional job. On a positive side it was cheap, I got a call from the company that my CDs would be in the mail (after waiting 4 months not knowing) and the copies were done well. That's it! read more

They get the job done and had a good price on Groupon to transfer VHS to DVD, my only complaint is the wait time as it took SIX MONTHS to get my 2 DVD's back. read more

I sent 12 video tapes last April. I called last June and was told they were working on them but very over-loaded. I patiently waited until mid-March and have left messages, gotten no response except a text saying they had a lot of tapes with no phone numbers, names, etc. I was very clear with them that I had included all the information, I kept copies. I have heard nothing. All of my family's memories are recorded on those tapes and I will be devastated if they have lost them. read more

Over the course of 2 years, I have gotten 3 old VHS tapes converted to DVD and have been very pleased by the high level of Professionalism, great Customer Service and very affordable price at The Video Editor. One of the VHS tapes was of my wedding 26 years ago - the converted DVD I received back was Perfect - I would highly recommend The Video Editor for anyone who is storing old VHS tapes. Please get them copied ASAP. Because the magnetic material used on the VHS tapes eventually flakes off over time, the shelf life of the videotapes is between 10 and 15 years . I was very fortunate that my 26 year old VHS wedding tape was able to be converted to DVD with no problem. read more

Polite, fairly priced and good service - if you need this service give them a try!

In all of my conversations and meetings with Steve, he has always been super polite, nice and professional. I did buy the Groupon deal and don't regret it. YES, the length of time to get your tapes/dvds back is lengthy, but I mean you waited THIS LONG to get them converted so you may as well wait longer. If you want to get a quicker return go elsewhere. From what I read, Groupon deals take longer. I'm not quite sure how long my tapes took, it could have been 4-6 months. Honestly I didn't pick them up till a year after because I was so busy. I called Steve a few times to ask him to hold them for me and that I would eventually pick them up. He was super nice each time and told me he always holds onto the tapes and never disposes of them. Steve is NOT trying to steal your tapes or your money. I've been to his office in Irvine and he has a legit business. He is very upfront with you on how long the process takes so it shouldn't be a surprise. read more

The only reason I gave this company even 1 star is because I had to to leave a review!! DO NOT use this company if you care at all about your precious memories!!! I sent in 12 VHS videos in May of 2017, paying up front with a Groupon. These were all the precious memories I had of my children growing up all the way through High school graduations. After waiting for 6 months, with no way to contact them except a phone number, with never a call back, I finally got a short text after multiple voicemails saying it was taking longer because of the many groupon orders. No apology or or anything.....6 months??? Now, it's April of 2018 and I still have not received them. Almost a full year!!! I am beginning to think I have lost my precious memories forever :( Please do not use this company, as my experience has been awful, painful, frustrating and very unprofessional!! read more

I've worked with Steve Kosch several times for company videos. Each and every time he was nothing but pleasant, polite and accommodating. They've done some great editing work for us. Our daughter gave us a groupon to have our wedding video converted to DVD, sent wedding video and some videos of kid when they were babies. That was July 5 th 2017 now is February 27th 2018 called several times and only received a text saying there was a six month backlog that was 6 months ago, they have had our tapes for 8 months now. No word yet, we have copies of the wedding video but the baby tapes are irreplaceable. At this point I just want our tapes back safe and sound. This isn't worth the worrying at any price. read more
