The absolute best there is! Jordan and Julie were right beside us for every detail of our day and we will be forever grateful for these memories on film. Day of, they were always around with a smile on their faces, capturing the moments I was afraid everyone else missed but were also somehow completely invisible, never ever in the way. Even my Mother commented multiple times during the day about how pleasant and kind they were while also being on top of every single moment of the day. I work in the wedding industry and kindness is rarely a thing you see but it is even more rare when partnered with talent on this level. Also, I am very awkward in front of the camera and I require a little direction, our photographer took a very hands off approach so having the very thoughtfully composed shots and lighting that were very carefully directed by Jordan and Julie are invaluable to having the beautiful moments of the day preserved for years to come. As a visual person, I was most impressed with their story telling, they really understood and conveyed the theme and story I had in my mind of the day without every having to be told or spelled out for them. Their art direction, cinematography and ability to tell a story are as good as it gets! After watching our film an unreasonable number of times, I still pick up on nuances where they timed the flip of a dress of the movement in a shot to match up with the music. There are easter eggs hidden throughout the film for us to find and I have so much fun explaining them to friends when watching. Etch Films is next level and I feel both lucky and impossibly grateful that I get to relive our wedding day anytime I want. In fact, I'm going to watch it again right now because it is my favorite thing to watch. I almost feel sorry for my friends who hired other videographers because there is no comparison in the videos they have when put next to our stunning film. While we were venue shopping we came across etch films. It was the first wedding video we really watched and paid attention to all details, and we quickly realized etch delivered high quality material. As we continued our videography research, since etch is located in SoCal, and we were getting married in NorCal, we were searching for their quality in our area. After dozens of videos we weren't finding anything that we wanted, or rather anything that would match their quality of product. We asked if etch would be willing travel, and we were given a quick response, "of course!" Beyond the stunning cinematography we first witnessed, their attention to detail was readily apparent from the beginning. It began with their intake questionnaire, asking us to detail our preferences for the video (musical genres, 1 vs. 2 songs, vibes etc) and to comment on any additional requests. On the day of, the etch crew were so easy to work with, making us feel extra special. They were so personable, my husband kept trying to entice them onto the dance floor just to enjoy the party! Once the final product was complete, it arrived in a super cute package with popcorn and candy! The video truly captured the essence of the event. The editing was expertly timed, the cinematic effects were captivating, and the quality of the video was stunning. Hiring a videographer for our 11/11/12 wedding wasn't even on our radar. However, getting Etch Films to shoot ours was probably the best decision we made in wedding planning. Jordan & Julie did such a fantastic job capturing our wedding day! They were fun and easy to work with without us feeling awkward about being in front of the lens. They were so prompt when first reaching out to them about their services. After that, everything was a breeze and it was easy to trust them to record our special day. The location had some challenges with a beach ceremony and a reception on a cramped deck that was accessible by either a super slow shuttle or a long flight of stairs, but there were no complaints from these two at all! They delivered our film in a cute package in the timeframe that was promised. The video was outstanding and everyone was truly impressed by the style and editing! When I went on a search for the right videographer, I knew the type of look I wanted for our special film. I wanted something modern and fun but still sentimental. I started watching a lot of wedding videos from videographers that were recommended by other vendors and while that work was decent - all the videos seem to follow the same format and style (i.e. a lot of footage on the officiant, vows, etc etc). It just wasn't what I wanted. During my search, I came across Etch and found the wedding video of Jordan and Julie and I knew that they would get my vision. We hired Etch Films to shoot our wedding in Palm Springs, CA. They were so professional and kept the mood fun and light, it helped my hubs and I feel comfortable in front of the cameras. The final video turned out so great! We watch the film all of the time and are so proud to share it with family and friends. Etch Films did an amazing job on our wedding video. We just received it yesterday and I'm pretty sure I've watched it a solid 45 times already. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Etch! I'd exhaustively researched every aspect of my wedding and relied heavily on reviews before making any selections. Yet the artistic nature of video (and photography) sometimes require following one's intuition -- Etch barely had three reviews when I found them back in 2012, but the few videos I could see at the time MORE than convinced me that I desperately wanted them to film our wedding. After doing enough searching, the formulaic nature of most other wedding videos becomes clear, but the Etch crew manage to impart an infectious fun with their editing and effects, and it looks like they are always up to trying something new to match their clients' personalities (I still follow them on social media and happily watch their new work). I second the other reviewer's comment that these are the type of videos that even friends of friends are touched by - we had the same experience.
