I'm a huge childhood Lego fan so bought tickets with friends to attend this Brick Bar popup event…read more Ticket prices varies depending on day or night so ours cost $24/person which covered admission fees only. They recommend if you want to bring kids go before 6pm. Event was not as big as I expected but had lots to do including building your own personalized base figures, ping pong, ball pool and enjoying drinks and food extra charge. Atmosphere was a buzz with lively music and MC keeping everyone involved with drink voucher giveaways for individual creative designs. Had a good time but personally was expecting more large decorative designs so people can admire the beauty and creativity of Lego building. Admission tickets were kind of pricey for what was being offered.

This is a hidden gem. We looked at almost every venue in Toronto for our wedding, and I mean a ton…read moreof venues. From the national ballet, to the Rowing club and everything in between. We were down to the Berkeley venues and the Rosehill Venue. We chose the Rosehill and we had an amazing reception. Wish we could do it over, it was so great. Our wedding reception was on Oct 11, 2015 with about 200 people. Had a cocktail style reception with food stations. The best thing for us was the amazing customer service. The owner is so nice and caring. I am extremely indecisive and he made me feel so calm and assured that everything would be fine on the day of. With all the vendors I had to deal with, it was so refreshing to get to work with someone who is calm, caring and really tries their best to ensure you have a great day. We went with Pe Se Catering for the food, they were fabulous, I keep hearing how amazing the food was. We did 3 food stations laid out throughout the venue. It worked well. Also had passed hors d'oeuvres which was nice as the venue is so beautiful and people could just spread-out and the appetizers came to them. We bought our own DJ and the sound system was perfect, our DJ was so impressed with the sound system, he still claims it is the best he has ever spun at and he spins all over Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. There are so many golden aspects of this venue. To name a few, leather sofa's, so nice for people who want to chill. Then the venue comes totally equipped, you don't have to rent anything! They have the tables, chairs (nice ones too) and all the cutlery- just something you don't have to worry about or pay extra for. Then there is a private room in the basement that you can use, multiple washrooms and stalls, so no one is waiting to use the washroom and lastly TV screens. We played old black and white movies during our reception and took a break to show the Jay's game as it was an important game- our guests loved that we switched to the game and there are TV's spread throughout the venue that everyone could see them. Close to a subway and a parking lot right next door, when I say this place is perfect, I just can't find a negative thing to write. All my guests loved it. If your contemplating, don't....this place is perfect for any kind of event. The price is also great for a beautiful downtown Toronto venue.

I recently had the pleasure of attending the wedding of the daughter of dear friends, with the…read morereception being held at Parkview Manor. It was my first time being here and I was impressed with the venue and the service. The name, Parkview Manor, suggests something exotic or traditional, maybe like an old mansion. Instead, it was a rather plain looking grey building with a large parking lot, in the middle of an industrial area. It was clean and in good repair but really had no character to it. Stepping inside, however, told a different story altogether. The reception/bar area was a bit small and cramped, making it a little hard for all the guests to move around comfortably. The passed hors d'oeuvres were plentiful, with a decent variety but tasted a bit ordinary. The main banquet room, with the head table, dining tables, and dance floor, was very spacious and beautifully decorated, with intimate lighting. Our meal was very good, maybe even excellent! We started with soup and salad, both served tableside. The main course had a properly cooked piece of salmon, a very tender steak, potatoes, and veggies. Dessert was chocolate mousse tart and creme brulee, served alternately. Other than the dessert being a tad sweet for my taste, the food quality was good. Kudos to our server, who was very friendly, engaging, and efficient! Having worked at one of the top banquet facilities in the GTA for ten years, the food and service here was top notch! If they had an area, indoor or outdoor, for photos, it would be perfect! The wedding, overall, was fantastic! Congratulations, Melissa and Brian!

I was teetering into 3-star territory because of how unimpressed I was with the entree. But then I…read morethought about everything else, the antipasto, the dessert, the food stations, the service, and the insider info from my friend about how great the coordinator is. So I'm thinking...meh, why bring down a decent venue over some overcooked steak? Parkview Manor, like every other banquet hall, has a fairly boring exterior, but the inside is clean and well-presented with your typical banquet hall decor and chandeliers. TONS of parking, which is an advantage of being in a bland commercial area. The building is split into two areas so it's highly possible there are multiple events happening at the same time. Food, of course, is the number 1 priority as a wedding guest. As stated up front, the entree was bad. Really bad. The filet mignon was tough like leftover meat from boiled stew. The chicken, already expected to be underwhelming at a banquet hall, was especially bland. I suppose that's the risk of a 2-meat plate. But everything else made up for it, I think. The antipasto was plentiful and delicious, especially the smoked salmon and the giant parmesan cheese wheel. The dessert was a wonderful creme brulee. The oysters at the oyster bar were fresh and shucked before your eyes. Even the sweets table had some tasty cakes. Servers were quick and unnoticeable, which is a mark of a good banquet hall server. You don't want plates clanging against each other during a speech. The bottom line is I had a wonderful time here as a guest; food, service, and coordination being a huge part of that. So I can live with a little chewy beef. If you are planning a wedding at a banquet hall, I wouldn't pass on this. I hear the guy that coordinates the venue is fantastic. (50/100) - 2018

This was my first time attending an event at Village Loft, operated by Oliver and Bonacini. Wow!…read moreThe venue, food, and service were all on point The venue, located on the upper level of a standalone building in the parking lot of Bayview Village, was a warm and inviting space, with brick and wood walls, large windows, and very intimate lighting. We used two of the three available sections and it was more than enough space. The event was a baby shower luncheon and the menu was very appropriate, with a variety of roving hors d'ouevres, salads, sandwiches, and desserts that satisfied everybody's appetite. The salads were all colourful, fresh, and tasty, with a good variety to choose from. The sandwiches - salmon, chicken, pulled pork, and vegetarian - were all delicious, as were the desserts. Personally, I would have preferred a tad less dressing on the salads but maybe that's just me. The service was also excellent, from the moment I walked in and was greeted with smiles by all the staff. Used plates were cleared from the tables very efficiently and the buffet table was replenished quickly. Overall, this was a great experience and a very enjoyable baby shower!

I liked the fact they got an elevator to get us to the 2nd floor, as the venue is there. Then I found out this venue is part of the O&B group, there's a certain aura this venue signifies as well as a standard O&B represents. I like! I like the setup as the food came in the middle, and we serve ourselves. I like that configuration. I can control portion on my own. First came the appetizers and there's risotto ball, and warm salad. Surprisingly they taste quite decent even though it was mass produced. Then the mains came after about half hour and there's all three choices of beef, chicken and fish. So I am not stuck with one. The biggest surprise were the beef and fish. As I mentioned earlier, banquet food tends to flop when it is mass produced. But not here, the beef came out soft and juicy still and the fish actually tasted good. I didn't have chicken as I was full by then. Dessert were homemade doughnut balls and a tiramisu. These were dynamite. I had an extra serving of these wonderful goodies. Overall experience is very nice. Food was good and service is quite good.
