I have been a loyal UPS customer for over 10 years. We recently moved to New Jersey. After using UPS in Bellevue, Washington and never having a problem, I naturally chose UPS to send a birthday gift to a friend back in Washington. I chose 2nd day air to make sure that the card and gift arrived on my friend's actual birthday. I spoke to my friend on her birthday and found out that she did not receive the package. When she still had not received anything two days later, I went back to this UPS store to find out what had happened. The manager told me that there was a tracer put on the package to find out whether it had been lost (which seems like bureaucratic nonsense when they knew that I had paid almost 30 dollars to guarantee delivery by August 11 and I was asking about the claim on August 13. They refused to offer a credit or refund for the delivery charges, which obviously I had wasted my money on since the package did not arrive at its destination in 2 days. I went back a second time a few days later to see if they had found my package and to get a credit or a refund. An employee told me there was nothing she could do for me since the manager was the only person authorized to issue refunds, and she was not there. I went back the next day and the manager recognized me and hurried to explain that there was still a tracer on the package and an investigation was pending to see if it was lost. (????) I said that package was obviously lost since UPS could not account for it, my friend had never received it, and the almost 30 dollars I paid to guarantee delivery by August 11th had been wasted since it was now August 18th. She refused to issue me a credit or refund and said that I had to go through the proper claims process. "If you think I am going to give you money back today, that is not going to happen," were her exact words. There was not a single word of acknowledgement that they had let a customer down or that this was an unfortunate situation for me. They simply seemed bent on not having to give me back a cent. They told me I needed to call the main UPS number if I wanted to file a claim for the lost package. While I understand that this claims process may be a corporate-wide practice within UPS, the way this particular store handled my delivery and the unfortunate aftermath was shocking in its utter absence of customer service. If anything, they acted like I was the one who was being unreasonable in asking for a refund. "We are not the ones who lost your package, ma'am," the manager said. (????) She, the owner of a UPS store, chose to distance herself from her company so that she wouldn't have to give me back a cent for losing my package. UPS stores are owned individually as franchises, so I am hoping that this type of callous, careless service is an exception and not representative of the UPS corporation as a whole in this area. I plan, obviously, to take my business elsewhere. It's truly a shame that I would never recommend this store to anyone. read more

The woman behind the counter is so rude and unpleasant we will not be coming back here. Her attitude is just awful...she constantly complains and is incredibly slow. In spite of the poor service, the prices charged are very high. read more

I've heard of minimum purchase amounts for credit cards but not as high as this place. You need to spend over $10 to use your credit card. Also was charged $5 for 2 color copies. I don't have this experience at other UPS stores and definitely won't be coming back to this one. read more

I bought an item on eBay, and agreed with the seller to send it back. I sent it back to the return address given on the original shipping label. It turned out that the return address was that of the UPS Store it had been shipped from. When it arrived at that store, the operator called me and told me that it had arrived at the wrong place. They said they could hold it if the addressee (seller) agreed to pay a fee for pickup. I asked them to hold it while I contacted the seller. They were very anxious to send it back to me and did so within hours, against my express wishes. The seller was agreeable and turned up afterwards to pick up his package and found it wasn't there. The original shipping label listed two addresses. When the package came back to me, I naturally shipped it to the second address. It turned out that second address was also the same UPS store. They called me again, this time I asked them to ship it to the seller. I told the operator that I was willing to pay for it, but that I thought they should because the mixup was their fault in the first place. The operator became very angry at that point and refused to hold the package or ship it to the seller, either one. At which time I finally told the operator what I thought of their service in no uncertain terms. Given that the seller is a frequent customer, and that the package had originated at their store in the first place, I feel very strongly that the UPS Store had an obligation to facilitate the return. Now I have to pay a third time to send the same package back to the same person. 1) If the UPS store hadn't used their own address as the return address, this wouldn't have happened. 2) If the UPS store hadn't listed two versions of their own address, this wouldn't have happened. 3) If the UPS store had held it just a little while longer the first time, this wouldn't have happened. 4) If the UPS store had held the package or shipped it the second time, this wouldn't have happened. I accept responsibility for ONE of the mis-shipments, not both. A little bit of customer service wouldn't have cost them anything; but their lack of customer service did cost me money. read more

I called to get a quote for printing services. I was clear in what my needs were and they misled me on pricing. Plus the quality of the "do it yourself" printer was poor. The staff could care less. read more

I find the people working in the West Windsor store very nice and if you take the time to get to know them, very personable. We live in a world where everything is about me me me. Don't be so quick to criticize a person until you've walked a mile in their shoes. Everyone thinks the grass is greener. The people who work there are human beings. Instead of complaining, try being nice...Turn the other cheek! If someone seems to be having a bad day, maybe, instead of being nasty to them, try empathizing with them and ask them if they are ok? It's amazing what type of response you may receive from someone when you treat them with respect and kindness. It isn't all about us! Remember that they are running a business and if you believe they are not charging a fair price, ask for an explanation and if you are still not happy, you can always go to the USPS. If you haven't noticed lately, the USPS is broken. The people are very nice but the organization is far from efficient! I've had many a package either damaged or lost over the years. And once again, the employees are very nice! It's the Federal Gov't that is messing up the USPS. read more

I'm not happy with my experience at this store today. I came in with a package containing shoes with a prepaid label to return to Tom's. I had kept the shoes in their original box and wrapped the box in plain brown paper which I fastened with clear packaging tape. (I did a very good job of taping the packaging paper in place.) The woman behind the counter told me that I needed a box without wrapping paper because they do not send packages with packaging paper. ("The Post Office allows this; we do not.") She charged me $16 for a box to send these shoes back. I've had problems with this woman in the past and I'm now completely fed up. I'll be using FedEx in the future. I just finished a two hour ordeal with them trying to get my 18$ back. They charged me 18$ to repackage my college textbooks because the packaging I did at home did not have their "official seal" on the box, which is a ridiculous policy that they don't mention on their website. They also would not give me my package back or a refund because they claimed to have already repackaged my textbooks and shipped them out. But wait here's the best part!!! My package was sitting right behind the guy on the counter, still in it's original packaging. They had the guts to LIE to my face, but they didn't even do a good job at lying! HAHA!!! All in all, that is not only unprofessional, but unethical as well. I'm not sure why they tried to rip off a college student because that's just wrong. That store should be shut down for ruthlessly upcharging people and refusing to give refunds. I don't know how they're still in business with all these negative review?! If you're reading this, PLEASE go elsewhere with your packages!!! They will scam you and not even do a good job at lying about it. They once tried to charge my Dad 8$ a page when faxing something, and their reasoning was "we have to make money somehow." The fact that I had to waste two hours of my day dealing with them completely disrupted my schedule and I'm going to hold them responsible for that. It is hard to give someone a negative review - you will see from all my other reviews that I prefer to see the positive side of people and their businesses. I was compelled to write this review in hopes that this business can use this as an opportunity to better their customer service and experience that is consistent with UPS corporate's vision. My parents are on the older side, which in my mind means experienced, and this was certainly not their first visit to UPS. They were standing in line, and as soon as they stood in line, the salesperson reprimanded them for not standing in the correct spot. They were told that others were in front of them. My parents were apologetic and said, "it is not an issue that others were ahead and they full intention to wait their turn." Her response and emotional reaction was not consistent with the other customers ahead of my parents who clearly knew that my parents were waiting in line behind them. When it was finally their turn, another customer had just come in, and he got reprimanded that my parents were first. My parents said, "it is no issue and that the salesperson could help this new customer first." The other customer declined and let my parents go. My parents brought the exact instructions from the visa company that requested a ground return label to be included. The salesperson said she would not do that and only provide an overnight option at $70+. I imagine the visa company has done this once or twice and that coupled with my parents knowledge that a ground receipt is certainly possible made this ludicrous. They insisted that this is what they wanted but she refused. She then began to ask the other customer what he wanted in the middle of the conversation, and when he said he needed to return something, she said we don't do returns. He was also getting visibly agitated with her, and finally he said "please help them and then I will deal with you." Ultimately, they left without resolution at this place and went to another UPS store that did exactly what the visa company requested and did it with great customer service. Again, I don't take these types of reviews lightly and shy away from doing them at all. However, this is a business within our community and beyond that where's the love for one another. At the end of the day if we can help each other with a smile, aren't we at risk of being left alone with a frown? read more

BE VERY CAREFUL! THEY OPEN MAIL AND GIVE EXCUSES Tampering with mail is a federal offense; specifically US code title 18, code section 1708 covers this offense. My mail at 295 Princeton Hightstown Rd West Windsor, NJ 08550 was tampered with, the contents disturbed and the box resealed on the side to conceal the act of tampering. I called the Indian owner/manager complaining about my mail being tampered with. She was belligerent, rude, dismissive as if she's done it endless times before. Her excuse was that she gave the mail to the wrong person. Tough luck so to speak... I asked her if she can help me contact the customer but she ignored me. She obviously does not understand her responsibilities and the consequences for opening mail and snooping around (in may case) maybe in other cases she's doing more than just snooping around . This woman is a criminal. This is not an insult; she admitted that she was the one who handled my mail. in my case she committed a federal crime! I was away on an international trip and just came back after the incident but I will be contacting the Postmaster General regarding this federal offense. Be extremely careful trusting your mail at this location. I would definitely not. read more

I have been going to this UPS Store for a few years now, sometimes to get packaging material and sometimes to send a package; always had a pleasant experience. But things change; I got a rude shock while visiting the store for dropping off a UPS package this week. It seems that the owner changed in August or September. The new owner, Mamta Patel, was in the store when I arrived, serving the only other customer before me. Nobody was waiting behind me. There was another clerk/employee waiting for customers. I was there to drop-off a UPS package and take a drop-off receipt. I was approached by the other employee when I entered and was told that I shall have to wait for Mamta to be free, if I need a receipt. So I waited patiently. When my turn came, I was told that a receipt will not be given. I was also given a long lecture on the store not making money from drop-off receipts and how drop-off customers crowd the store and scare away paying customers. I tried to reason that a happy drop-off cutomer is likely to come back to make other money making deals so all is not lost, but the owner will not have any of it. I then asked for a special one-time favor as I was already in the store and was issued a receipt. The truth is that I have always (at least a dozen times in the past) been issued a receipt by the store. This new policy was not displayed anywhere in the store. The store was not crowded. No other paying customer was waiting behind me. And it did not make sense to make me wait for a long time and then tell me that a receipt won't be issued. Overall, it was shocking to find that the owner spent almost 7 minutes lecturing me while issuing a receipt probably takes about 2 minutes, or less. She also didn't seem to be interested in getting me back as a paying cutomer another day. At the end of the transaction, when I enquired if the no-receipt-for-drop-off is a new policy from UPS or if it is created by the store, she proudly stated: it's my store, I set my policies. read more

I came home, related the experience to my dad, who said she tried to get HIM to use air freight for a package to NYC. That's right. Air freight. To NYC! I'm not happy with the one South Asian female employee who works here (every other staff is great). I came in a few weeks ago with a detached return label so I asked for a label pocket so they can attach it to the box (they provide this for free without complaints, I have always asked for it in numerous UPS stores across the country whenever I don't have time to tape the label onto the box for over a decade) and she told me not to ask for this and have the label on the box ready before I drop it off because during the holiday this will delay the line. Yes, I agree but it takes her five seconds to attach it not to mention it was early November and I was the only customer at the store. Also, I waited ten minutes for the store to open. I saw two other people leave because the store wasn't open on time. If you think you know best for the customer, please come on time or at least apologize that you were late. I have been coming to this UPS Store for a few years now and have always had a pleasant experience. I was in a hurry one day and just wanted to drop off a package. The owner explained how important it was to receive a receipt from them in order to make sure my package got there okay. Well, I dropped the package off, ran my errand and came back for the receipt. She is absolutely right about receiving a receipt as one time I dropped a package off at a different store and didn't get one and my package got lost so I'm not sure why one of the reviews stated they don't give out receipts. She is adamant about giving out receipts for drop off packages. As far as charging a minimum for credit card charges I know that companies are charged per transaction for every credit card charge which could get very expensive if you didn't recoup the money. For a small business, this could be very costly. I've always had a pleasant experience at this store and the owner has always been very pleasant and accommodating. read more

I have visited this place repeatedly and each time I walked in, I found the service to be slow and the woman behind the counter to be condensing. My last straw was walking in to drop off a pre-labeled package. My intentions were to drop and go, but the woman insisted I stay in the long line to wait for a receipt. I indicated that I trusted she would place the package for shipping and I did not need a receipt. She reluctantly agreed, but then proceeded to tell me that next time I should allow for more time when coming to store....all this while she should have been paying attention to the person she was already helping in the long line.
