Everything was great until I closed down service. Come to find out that in the fine print of the contract, which is even acknowledged by corporate, is a clause that if you overpay for time on a mail box there is absolutely no refund. You're encouraged to pay months or even a year in advance, but once they have the money its gone. I was told by corporate that I should have read the fine print. It's a monthly service, billed monthly, but they don't have an auto pay feature so they require you to go to the store and stand in line to make a monthly payment. Payment in advance is convenient for the customer and certainly advantageous for the franchise. read more

I am talking specifically about the UPS store in Meadow Lake Alaska. I went there yesterday and my mail was there but they couldn't give it to me. They told me that they were short staffed because two people called in sick. So I couldn't get my mail. I've had a mailbox there for 10 years and the rate for my mailbox is $600 a year. I'm paying more than the post office because I'm supposed to be getting a premium service. But this is a subpar service as far as I'm concerned. read more

I came to the UPS store to transfer some media from a disc to my drop box account and I was struggling. The staff couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. They went out of their way to help me get this done in a hurry and I am so very grateful! Especially grateful to the young lady, Rebekah, that got me started and checked me out between packing boxes for a client who walked in disheveled and in need of help. Today I went into the UPS store in Wasilla to ship some signs I bought on vacation while in Alaska and we were met with some of the best and warm customer service here. Donna is one of a kind! She was able to safely and securely get the signs in a box to make sure they wouldn't get damaged in transit back home and in a timely manner all while being incredibly personable. Just visited this store to ship some things home before we left AK... Some things you should know before stopping in here 1. You will WAIT. We waited for over a half hour while employees tended to other customers, answered phones, talked to themselves and each other, and had conversation with their children who happened to come in while we were waiting for OVER 45 MINUTES. 2. The employees are untrained and have 0 communication skills. No one knew the rules about packing our shit. It was packed and unpacked 3 different times in different boxes. They didn't know what kind of or how much bubble wrap to use or how to measure boxes. 3. They added fees that were not communicated to us (ie. Fragile fees) and then proceeded to charge us over 50 DOLLARS to pack the shit that we waited OVER 45 MINUTES to be packed. 4. On top of all of this, the items that we were shipping were monetarily worth less than the cost of the packing ALONE! $50 to pack & $47 to ship??? Not sure if this is this location only... We have shipped internationally and never has it cost this much! When we decided to take our items with us, rather than pay ~ $100 to ship it, we were met with animosity and even more things the employees didn't know about!! Only after one employee ripped all of the bubble wrap off were we told that we would still have to pay for the bubble wrap as it was not reusable. So now we have all of our items, and torn bubble wrap, AND we paid to wait now almost an HOUR (despite repeatedly saying we had a flight to catch in Anchorage). Super disappointed in this location and in UPS in general. Please please please train your employees. Their lack of knowledge of the rules & procedures shouldn't have cost us this much time and any money. read more

UPS store Meadow Lakes. 7362 W. Parks Highway A heads up. I paid for an entire year for a box at the UPS store at Meadow Lakes. 7362 West Parks Highway. I believe it was April when I signed up for a year( I believe it was $399.00) for A medium box. Which I found out they don't even use the boxes. Packages that will fit in the box will not be put in the box They will have to be sorted through and be assigned a ticket for you to sign for it. So the size of a box that you get there is a scam. On multiple occasions I went into the store after I had been notified that my a package was delivered from Amazon and other suppliers. I would wait to get notification that at least one of the packages would been documented and receive via email from the UPS store that it was ready for me to pick up. I would proceed to go and pick up my package and ask for my other packages and would be told that they did not have the time to look for my packages. Because, they have too many to sort through and they would get to mine as they could. Yesterday this happened to me again and I was the only one in the store which really put me off. I called UPS corporate and put in a complaint. I went in to the store today to pick up the other package that arrived yesterday morning and wasn't logged in till around 5 PM yesterday. The manager was upfront and I wanted to speak with her. She saw me grab the complaint approached me and in a condescending voice Then said "by the way I did receive your complaintand let me explain to you that we have only three people here at a time and don't have time to sort through the packages and get your package". I told her I would not be receiving mail there any longer and that I would like to know if I could get a refund she said no it was in your contract that you signed. she said after the turning her back and walking off. Go and do business with your little Post Office. The small post office that I use right up the street always has packages that come in ready for you by noon The same day. If you're looking for any help from UPS corporate forget about it. read more

I have had this mailbox for over 5 years and up until recently I have never had any problems with my packages. I receive email notifications that I have received packages, but I do not receive the ticket in the box to claim them. I ask about my packages; I am told that it was already picked up but no signature. This has been happening to me and several other box holders. Packages that I do receive appears to have "peek holes" to see what is in the bags. Nicole is the "manager" and I have never had any issues with missing mail until she started her "transformation" She talks down to the other employees- calls them stupid and lazy. Attempted to address my concerns with the owner of the store but apparently that is top secret. If a paid box holder is NOT SATISFIED with the services that was paid for, it is more than appropriate to want to address it with the owner of the business. And if I feel that my mail or ANYBODYS mail is being tampered with, we have EVERY right to discuss this with the business owner and not with some "manager" that has a piss poor attitude. Maybe a call to UPS Corporate to file an official complaint will get some attention. read more

I got a box for my business two weeks ago, and I absolutely love the standard of care tat they provide for my mail and the numerous packages that I receive. They also gladly accept USPS mail that I need to mail out, so I can save time by not having to drive into Wasilla. read more

Be prepared to wait forever or not get the service you came for because the person who does that is not in today. Went twice to get finger printed and never could get it completed. Got tired of waiting in line for over an hour. Just go somewhere else!! read more

Actually this was my sister that posted the comment not me! And I actually said that I would bring my fish and moose meat back to my house and bring it back on Monday to ship and you guys insisted that it would be safe there till Monday and it wouldn't get ruined or shipped out until then. It's not my fault that your staff didn't mention to your "new driver" that it shouldn't be taken till Monday. It's not my fault that you guys insisted on keeping it there and it would be safe. It's not my fault that the owner was a total BITCH when dealing with me. No apologies, no anything...just a "that's to bad...oh and we will only reimburse you for the shipping costs and still charge you for almost all of the gas anyway" when it was delivered NOT on the day I had agreed on. Not to mention you tried to write it off with giving me a gift card for 500 free copies. I don't need copies, I needed my fish shipped properly which you all obviously can't do!!! And when I came back for the 5th time to finally get my reimbursement check (because you didn't have it ready when you said you would and you never showed face after the discussion of getting it lost cause you were too busy in back taking "fingerprints"), I got a check, but did I get a gift card in my envelope? NOPE!!! I'm a very honest person and things happen, I understand that. But never have I dealt with such a rude manager/owner of ANYTHING in my life!!! I've managed plenty of places and NEVER have I been so rude. Yes, I said I would go to small claims and your reply was "go ahead, it won't do you any good!" You were rude the WHOLE time, so of course I was going to be rude back! I'm not gonna just sit there and take someone that I was giving my business to be so rude without a reply! My sister sent me a shipment of perishable frozen fish for overnight delivery (delivery box clearly marked " fresh seafood" and "perishable"). The customer representative at the store offered to keep the package in their freezer until Monday, as they told her they didn't ship overnight items on the weekends. She accepted the offer. They mistakenly shipped that same day anyway, and it was 4 days in transit. The fish arrived rancid and inedible. The manager of the store was rude when my sister informed them of what happened, and told her that it was too bad for her but she was only getting part of the shipping refunded (they subtracted $20 for gas) and NONE of the value of the fish. Very rude and not willing to take responsibility for their sole and direct mistake. read more

I have been a long time customer of this UPS Store and I LOVE the people that work there. Especially the owner. I once had a shipping problem but it was not the fault of anyone working at that store but an in-transit issue. But When I addressed my shipping issue with the owner, she was very apologetic and calm. She explained what happened, got me a refund and I left that store understanding what happened knowing that the owner did her best for me and YES I still ship there because it's way better than the post office. Many times have I seen the owner, managers, and employees go above and beyond what had to be done to make customers happy. I've seen them helping an old man fill out his PFD forms online (which he told me that they help him every year and have never charged him a dime for it). They carry packages in and out for people (many who are disabled). Hell, I have even seen one lady literally crying on the owner's shoulder. They care, they treat their mail box renters like family. read more
