I opened a mailbox at this location for my business on June 2 and paid in full. I was told I would receive a phone call when my mailbox key was available for pickup. Since then, I have followed up multiple times. I checked back on Friday and again today, June 10, only to be told that my key is still not available. While I was there, staff appeared confused and were searching around to see if a mailbox key had been prepared for me, but ultimately could not provide one. I also feel very uncomfortable with the fact that staff seemed confused when trying to locate a mailbox key intended for my business. If there is confusion over something as basic as a mailbox key, it makes me question how my business mail and packages would be handled at this location. After waiting more than a week without access to the mailbox service I paid for, I requested to cancel and receive a refund. I was then informed that I would not be refunded, despite never receiving the key or being able to use the mailbox. I find this unacceptable. If a customer pays for a service, they should receive what they paid for. In my case, I paid on June 2 and, as of June 10, I still do not have a mailbox key. Refusing a refund for a service that was never provided is extremely disappointing. As a business owner myself, I find this very unethical. Businesses should be held accountable for delivering the services customers have paid for. Collecting payment immediately while failing to provide access to the service and then refusing a refund is not how customers should be treated. I do want to note that the young lady who assisted me was polite, professional, and respectful. My frustration is not directed at her personally, but rather at the way this situation was handled and the lack of a reasonable resolution. If you're looking for a mailbox, I would recommend considering another UPS location or the post office. My experience was that payment was collected immediately, but the service itself was not available, and no reasonable resolution was offered. Well the biggest thing is to get here when there's not a line. If you do that I believe you're just going to feel like it's in the other location, but they do have some bottlenecks, when it comes to taking care of the groups that come in. Every single time I've gone, and I have guiding employees that seem very interested in giving me good customer service. So if you have come in and you weren't happy because you got stuck in a line yeah, you're going to have to come back at a different time or just swing the line like the rest of us. Maybe they can fix the bottlenecks when the groups come in, I don't know if that's scheduling when they know people are getting out of work and about to come in or on their way to work or on lunch breaks I'd have to pay attention to the times that I come when there is a big line. So if you can't try to get there during one of their off times then yeah your experience is going to be bad and you might be in that 8 to 10 minute line waiting. read more

So this is a tough one to review. If there is nobody in the store then the employees are happy and cheerful, you don't have to climb over boxes and boxes and boxes laying around, and you're in and out in minutes. If there is ANY type of business or rush then it's the worst place in New Windsor to be. What makes it worse is that the manager (who sits in the back 9/10 times) doesn't come out to help the other two employees trying to clear the line. I've noticed this the more I've gone here, and I know she has come out from behind a desk and scanned pre-printed labels on a computer which is to the right just passed the copy machines. But I guess she only does that if she wants to... Otherwise she just sits in the back while the two employees get slammed and the line is so long that it wraps around the store. This can be difficult since there are excess number of boxes laying around everywhere. God forbid if you have PO box or a mailbox there you have to get to you have to climb over everyone's returns and boxes. One time at Christmas the line was so long it literally went to the door and wrapped around the table twice like a snake coiling up! This is not how you're supposed to handle business, and the manager doesn't seem to care or else she'd come out from behind the desk and help out her co-workers. read more

Make sure you tape your packages or else they will charge a dollar to do it for you. Funny, cuz I've always brought packages to this place and I never taped it and no one ever asked me. Why is that boy with the light blue shirt telling me I have to pay a dollar. He didn't even charge it on register, makes me think he's just pocketing the dollar from everyone he tells to pay to tape it. If it's policy, maybe everyone should start telling that to the customers and not just one kid. read more

This location constantly loses my packages. What's even worse is that the driver will lie and say delivered when nothing is there. I have cameras at home that verify no one stops by. Do you have some quota of deliveries to make? Just be honest. The best I ever got was a package that arrived weeks later after the alleged "delivery" date. Not in the mailbox, just tossed on the front steps in the rain. Your online/telephonic customer service is absolutely garbage too. But at least the automated voice machine knows its job. I recently stopped in here to ship a package. Since my last review a year ago, this store has become more of a dump. The clutter is horrible and appears to be a fire and safety hazard. There were customers' packages laying all over the place, which could easily be stolen by somebody if staff aren't paying close attention. And believe me, staff don't pay attention to their customers. I waited for a long time for someone to help me. Nobody was at the counter and there were several customers in line. After a lengthy wait, an employee began processing my package, but had extensive difficulty figuring out their computer. He finally realized that he could not ship USPS packages and told me I needed to go elsewhere. It would've been nice if he told me that before he wasted all sorts of time. The staff here are absolutely incompetent and give the appearance that they have no clue what they're doing. They also don't seem to care to learn how to do their jobs. Staff are very petty with the taping of sealed packages. A while back, I did a test with this place. I brought a sealed package to be shipped via UPS. I taped the package pretty adequately. A lady behind the counter told me the tape I used on the package isn't good enough and I should buy tape from them. I left the store, printed an online shipping label, and had UPS pick up the package from my door. The UPS driver told me the package was fine. This is another case of The UPS Store trying to drum up business. read more

For a store that has been in business so long one would expect they have their act together regarding appearance, service and attitude. But NO! Had to use this place twice this month. First time maybe it was a fluke, but now a second time. A messy store, probably a tripping hazard for everyone with piles of boxes and wrappings all around. There is literally a path carved out for customer line. Staff are not customer service orientated. There were two in the store. One was slowly processing one customer's paperwork while the woman moved about with her papers never offering to help the next customer. The next day again one did the counter work while the woman moved about with her paperwork. while three of us waited. Call UPS for pick up or use USPS. I was extremely disappointed to see that the employees in the New Windsor store were not wearing masks. When I asked one of the girls why they were not wearing them, I was told that they were not told that they had to. Forgetting for a second that Governor Cuomo issued an Executive order mandating the wearing of masks by all employees and anyone outside. This is very irresponsible on the part of this business that caused me to walk out and will not return again. Shame on you! Cuomo should shut them down! read more

I have been a mailbox customer at this location for 7 years. Colleen and her team constantly go above and beyond in the services they provide to their customers. Whether mailing out a package, printing up business cards and brochures, are just picking up my mail I am always made to feel like the most important customer in the world. I had to return some items to amazon and the return receipt allowed me to put two items in one bag and provided two bar codes for the one package. The elder gentlemen there refused to scan the second bar code. When I explained he didn't want to listen and said I needed another package. He was extremely uncooperative. I ended up letting him have the one package with the two items to be returned and not scanning both bar codes. So now my refund is only for one item because this man refused to scan the 2nd bar code. read more

I recently had an emergency that required me to ship a lot of packages in a short time. Everyone at this location was so kind and helpful to me. They helped me get the boxes from my car when I had to park a billion miles away because the parking lot was being repaved! They helped me re-pack when I had made a blunder on a few of the boxes. I probably came into the store 7 or 8 times in a two week period. Sometimes it was very busy. But everyone treated me so well, even though I knew I was a pain in the you-know-what with all my boxes. I have been to good UPS stores and terrible UPS stores, but this one is the best I've experienced. read more

About a half hour later my wife decided to call again and let them know we were on the way and ask again if the lady was there now. The woman at the store (same woman) said yes. My wife felt a little silly calling again but noted to me it was better safe then sorry because she knows I'm working from home and have been on conference calls all day. It's difficult to find the exact time to leave to get personal business done. When we arrived the staff took our neighbor package - no problem and then the notary lady asked us if we could come back an hour later. What!?!? Then she gave us a complete attitude- said we have to wait another ten minutes and without telling us anymore or even being friendly walked away into the back into the office leaving us just standing there. Just to note- this isn't the first time we have encountered inaccurate or rude behavior from these staff. It's just not consumer centric. If she been polite and asked us nicely to stick around for another ten minutes we would have but the attitude was unbelievable and completely unnecessary. It only takes common curtesy, a quick update or apology and a smile. THATS ALL! You ma'am are rude and deserve a terrible review. Thank you for ruining our afternoon. I had this UPS store ship an item that I purchased from a local auction house. The problems started when they refused to honor a quote I was given prior to shipping the item. A staff member quoted me, over the phone, on the cost of shipping at which point I gave him my credit card number and shipping details. Shortly thereafter I received a 2nd, higher, quote from another staff person named Colleen. When I informed Colleen that I had already received a quote, at a significantly lower price, she refused to honor it and basically said that her quote was the price, take it or leave it and that they could return my item to the auction house if I wasn't happy. I eventually offered to meet them half way between the original quote and the 2nd one simply to expedite the shipment with minimal delay. Definitely not happy about being jacked up in this fashion but having already paid for the item with the auction house you are pretty much at the mercy of the shipper. Tat being said, I deal with many UPS locations and this is the first time I have had one treat me in this fashion. After agreeing on the "half way" price I asked for the shipper to email me the tracing number when my package shipped, a fairly ordinary request that I ask of all shippers I deal with. I did not receive the tracking info and had to contact them to get it. My package arrives and when I open it I discover that my extremely fragile Lalique crystal item had been packaged very poorly to the point where I am surprised it arrived in one piece. The crystal box parts, ie. box and cover, were packaged together so loosely that they came apart in shipping. The delicate finial on top of the box had no protection other than the bubble wrap that had been placed around it. Given how delicate that finial is it needs to be protected from snapping off or having the wings (it's a dove) broken off. Simply wrapping it in bubblewrap is not even close to safe and I would expect a professional shipping company to know this. On top of the crappy packaging, literally, I received an extra free bonus in my box, someones (something's) coarse black hair was there stuck to the wrap. So to sum up. The UPS Store in New Windsor NY refused to honor a quote they had given me for a package shipment. They packaged a fragile item so poorly that it is amazing it arived in one piece. They couldn't even manage a simple request like emailing me the tracking number of my shipment and lastly, to add insult to injury, they can't be bothered to show enough care and concern for their work environment or packages, to prevent packages being contaminated with someone or something's hair. I would not recommend this location and will not be doing any further business with them. read more

LMFAO This place is a joke! Absolutely no customer service. Last time I was here, I had to send a fax! After waiting 26 minutes without any communication from the girl that put my paper in the fax machine, I said "wow that's a slow fax machine" her response was oh let me check! Then re-faxed it and said just another minute! Didn't even have the decency to tell me if the fax failed the first time or that she didn't press the fax button! $7.50 for 3 pages to send a fax? Okay it all started in October 2017 tried to send a package of dry goods (food) to a family member in Puerto Rico after the hurricane, it was pretty heavy cost me $107 shipping to send the package needless to say package never arrived I gave it time because I knew it was taking longer than usual to get things to that area however UPS never notified me that package was returned to the UPS Store in New Windsor/ Vails Gate, the incompetent people in New Windsor store had my package there until I went there on January 11th and they said "oh it's here"!! even though they have my phone number and address!! now since January 11th I have been trying to get a refund for the shipping costs $107. The kids that work in that store keep telling me the manager deals with that, I have left my phone number been in there several times seems like a manager doesn't exist, UPS itself said they're not refunding my money because it's the store I sent it from that owes me the money. Since then I have wired money through Western Union to the family member in Puerto Rico since they never received the package and I am still out of $107 that UPS Store in New Windsor/ Vails Gate will not return to me!! Worst service ever! I called asking about emailing a shipping label I needed printed out to ship "from their store", I was first told that it would be .15cents for the cost of the print. I was then put on hold and then told that I'd be charged an extra $3 for using the computer, which is ridiculous since you should be able to just Bluetooth my phone with the printer or just print out the dam label for your customer. I've been going to this store since it first opened and have always thought the manager was nice, but now I know she's a blood thirsty money hungry person. EVERY PRINTING PLACE(Staples, Office Depot, etc) LETS YOU email them what you need print and just charges you for the paper. This is a pathetic ploy to squeeze customers for more money, sad! Let me tell you about my experience with UPS! Firstly whenever I have had a delivery they would never ever deliver it when it was supposed to be delivered or wasn't exemption they didn't want to drive up my driveway. so now I have my packages delivered to the UPS store that's even worse! This past week I had two packages delivered there and both times they told me they weren't there. The first girl was nice about it and she found it the second one today, Was so nasty she said it's not here. I showed her my text and she still said it's not here. I got very not nice and told her to look up the tracking number and she did and she said she couldn't find my package guess what it was staring right in the face on the floor right next to me. Then she had the nerve to tell me we didn't scan it in yet no wonder it wasn't in there very nasty I'm going to find another and never want to use UPS again! I never have a problem with FedEx, FedEx is the best. Seems like nobody wants to do their job especially that blond haired girl or UPS store, in the vails gate store. read more
