We usually go to the UPS store on Culebra because of how close it is for convenience. However, my father was visiting from out of town and dropped of a parcel at tthe Potranco location and told me he would never go to another location again. That's high praise in my book. We recently tried the location driving a little further out of our way and it was so worth it. The staff are friendly and helpful and genuinely try to assist you however they can. They were quick and not a madhouse. Always listen to dad! Now we have a new favorite location and will drive out of our way here rather than go to the one down the street. This UPS store on Potranco Rd. and 1604 is the worse I have ever visited. Seems like every time that I have visited there has been a negative event with the staff and one of the customers. Once I saw a female customer carry in a few bulky boxes. From what I could hear in the conversation all of the items came together in one delivery but the customer had some things mixed. Instead of being understand and trying to help the lady collect her thoughts to get the items returned. The UPS lady advised her to get her stuff together and come back. Another incident occurred with me personally. I witness a customer walk inside as I was parking. I grabbed my package proceeded to enter store. I arrived here to see a large sign showing new management. I came here to do an Amazon return. I had the item in the original box it was sent in (I had elected for it to ship in its original box). When I went to this location to process my return, I was told by the employee that the box isn't approved and needed to be a blank box. She tried to sell me their packaging materials/service because it's not in an "approved" shipment box. That seemed odd to me since it was the box that was mailed to me, so it should be approved. Fortunately, I opted out of purchasing their boxing and I went to another UPS instead. The second UPS store took it without issues nor additional charges. Lack of basic understanding of what good customer service is, total lack of accountability and bad attitude of staff (Darrian) and the owner (Ahmed). I'm a small business owner, and I've also worked in customer service for most of my life, so I know what good customer service is--it's friendliness, courtesy, empathy; not rideness, excuses and dismissiveness. Female staff clerk named Darrian, strangely wouldn't finish helping me to return an Amazon package--for some strange reason they had me wait to finish the transaction she already started with me--while she helped 2 people whi were behind me in line. When I asked her to finish helping me--before moving on to the next customers, she acted dismissive. saying that she was the "only one in the store". What does that have to do with encouraging customers to skip ahead of each other? She wasn't the sole staff either, there were 2 others right next to her. This might not seem like a big deal but it' was her bad attitude and laziness that set the tone. The store looked very disorganized with package returns left unattended on the various customer service counters. I always used the self retun kiosk to be courteous to the staff but was out of regular sized plastic return bags, so I asked her for a return bag and she refused to give it to me, (I didn't trust that she would seal my amazon returns based on her bad attitude). So later in the evening I checked my amazon account and my return still wasn't scanned in. I then returned to the store to make sure it was checked in and when I complained to the owner, Ahmed--instead of hearing my perception of what had happened, he instantly deflected and made everything my problem. Neither of these people knew how to sinply say, "sorry", or treat me with common sense courtesy. I wouldn't have complained if either of these people understood what customer service is--empathy, courtesy, accountability--not victim blaming and making excuses. There's an exceptional staff here, a super sweet woman who works at this store, Graciella? but she' wasn't there today. She's geniunely helpful and always friendly but I will never return to this location store 5771 at Potranco suite 122, because of Darrine and worst yet the owner, Ahmed. A simple "sorry" is too much for Darrine or Ahmed to acknowledge. Sad and foolish way to ruin a business. read more

Who doesn't need a reliable UPS Store to send packages? I usually come here when I need to make Amazon returns, since drop off is super easy and convenient. Just hand in the package (no label needed), have them scan the QR code from Amazon, and you get a receipt in return. But did you know that they also offer notary services? I've gotten a couple documents notarized here on different occasions, and the process was very quick each time. All you need is an ID and the documents you need notarized. I believe pricing starts at $6/page. Although you can make an appointment ahead of time, I've never had to wait when I requested notarization via walk-in. However, there were occasions when I've noticed several employees congregated in the back of the store, chatting with each other, without anyone at the counter helping incoming customers (hence the four stars instead of five). I would also suggest coming here on off-hours or else the wait could be 15 minutes or more since the store is small, and many people run their errands during lunchtime. Otherwise it's a solid place to fulfill your shipping needs (and more)! read more

I'm like laughing they really pull all your penny's. They don't print so you have to pay three dollars to send an email so they can print out the label for you. If you have more than one box, they have to be taped together and then they charge you five dollars to tape them together. I was there to return a package and waited in line as usual. A lady from the back walks out and calls me up, and as I stand there she's taking her sweet time reading a text on her phone. I waited patiently till she is done to complete my order, which she does and hands me the receipt with no words exchanged. Then she just looks past me as I stand in front of her and begins to talk to the next customer. I found that extremely unprofessional and rude of her to do that. Well, I am not going to write a long review about all of the details, (too many), but I do hope ALLEN's superior sees this. He is an extremely rude person, even to my 88 yr. old mother. As far as being an asset, as an employee, he is causing this store to lose business, not only customers, but sales on products. Not offering alternatives, when something isn't an option. Not, at all, friendly. He seems to enjoy making excuses for his mistakes and blaming the customer. Just terrible service. I will not be back for personal nor business needs. Had you told me it would be an issue, I would have contacted the destination, and asked for a different address, as I told you I needed the package to get there the next day. When I came back in to tell you I had a problem, you, actually, said that the PO Box was not a factor, and that Allen saying it was a factor, was not correct. Allen should NEVER be like that. I watched him help other customers, and he was the same with them. My package arrived in Austin, 6 days later! This blaming the customer seems to be a standard with you and Allen. It's shocking. I know what I needed, I know what I asked for, I remember the conversations, word for word. I've asked for my money back, in the days of emailing back and forth, and no one has responded. Was a little disappointed with my visit today. I understand it's the holidays and expected them to be busier than normal. I won a package from a brand and opted in to have it delivered to this location. After waiting in line I provided my ID. The guy said they didn't have my name in the system. He looked around a little maybe like two packages total to try and find it. Comes around again and asks if it could be under another name. So I give him my full name. He searches in the system and finds it, however, it's under my middle name. He kinda gave me a smart remark like I'm supposed to know it's under my middle name. He pulls the package (which had my name on it) by the way and provided it to me. Alright, thanks. As I'm leaving i notice that it couldn't be the full package. So I go back in to ask if he's sure there's not another one under my name. He doesn't look, doesn't offer to look just tells me that's all they had and to call the company to find out what happened with the other half. A few mins later I see an email that the other half was also delivered. So now I'll have to go back. Maybe if the customer service was a little better it wouldn't be an inconvenience. read more

I hate to leave a negative comment but maybe they will read this and change the way they treat people at this UPS. I want to be clear before I go into what happened. All of the employees at this UPS were slammed with customers and doing the best that they could when this happened. I wanted to mail a canvas painting off and I was quoted $44. Seemed a bit steep but I said okay. They took about 30 minutes just to box it up and when they reweighed the item the price nearly doubled to $80. At this point the painting was already boxed up but I stated that an estimate of $44 and an outcome of $80 was ridiculous, and I was told that in order to get my item back I would have to pay $14 to pay for the box it was put in. In essence they wanted me to pay for a box I wasn't going to use because they made a mistake with the estimate. The woman who I'm assuming was the manager was completely irritated with me and finally agreed after the entire store stood silently as I pleaded my case on why this was wrong on so many levels. What kind of broke my heart was that the young man that helped me seemed a bit overwhelmed and instead of having a private conversation with the young man she let him know that he was going to be in trouble for what happened. Leadership should always take the fall for their employees and talk to them in private in my opinion. The employees were working incredibly hard under such stressful circumstances. I hope I just caught the lady on a bad day. I know I've had some of those. I really hope they do not treat anyone like that again. I informed her that I was not familiar with a process to drop off work equipment and wanted to make sure it would be sent where it needs to, but she insisted on not being helpful. Informed me "that's not my job" when I asked further questions about label on box. We had the best experience at this store. All the staff, even though most were new, were nice, courteous and very helpful, just amazing. We had multiple packages to ship out, one went early the other had to ship 2nd day with fresh frozen fish and dry ice. That experience was a bit stressful at the HEB close by; however, once we got to this UPS store they were amazing and cannot say enough just cannot say enough. Awesome. Knowledgable. I have a small business and wanted my vehicle magnetic sign laminated so I took it here and asked if they could do it. They said yes with no reserve and after it came out crinkled suggested it was too thick for their machine. I was not happy when I was informed I would still have to pay for their learning curve. I was offered 50% off if they removed the laminate but did little to raise my confidence they really knew what they were doing and wouldn't cause further damage. The total was a little more than $3 and for that I'm left with a bad experience and now my sign which cost me $20 looks terrible and won't adhere to the side of the car while moving. read more

I was shocked when I got my mail today because I received a check from Cheryl the owner of the UPS store. Although it did not cover the entire cost of the item, she did cover the $100 that UPS is responsible for if you don't insure the item and she refunded my shipping cost of $35.22. I am pleasantly surprised about this and I am glad to know that they take ownership and accountability of a customer issue. Honestly the lack of sense of urgency in this place is alarming. Everyone works at a snails place. Even before the holidays it was agonizing. From typing to simply putting a box in the right bin. Finally after today I've decided to find a new ups store. They need a more efficient process for people just dropping off Amazon packages. Or a pep talk with their employees on treating things with a sense of urgency. Or at least seem like they care if they feel you have a sense of urgency. Great service at just before the 5pm hour on a Saturday. Took there time with me and my packages. Great experience overall. Went there a second time and had the worst experience. These guys don't know what they are doing. I had them box up a large parcel and they made it probably 3x what it needed to be and then said it would be $200 to ship. It cost about $30 when it was shipped to me previously in Decmeber. I am never going there again. I redid the packaging myself and now I have this mess of peanuts everywhere. They told me it was between me and the place I bought it from and their was nothing they could do.
