This is one of the worst UPS stores. I've never had experiences like I've had there. First of all you can't drop off UPS packages with prepaid labels and They are very rude in there and think they're better than all the other UPS stores. The owner called me the day after I left the original review. He wasn't aware of the situation and was very apologetic. He encouraged me to bring the package back so they could make it right. I brought the package in a few days later when I got back in town. When I gave them my name, both people behind the counter knew the situation and were very helpful. They made it right so I will give them another shot the next time I need to ship something. read more

Extremely Disappointed with Service Today I am a long-time resident of Palencia and have lived here for 20 years. I've used the UPS Store in our community hundreds of times over the years. However, today's experience was so ridiculous, I felt compelled to speak out. I walked in with a lightweight package that had been taped with duct tape. The top was slightly open, and the woman behind the counter told me I would need to buy a roll of tape because "duct tape comes off in the weather." Fine--I was ready to spend $6.99 on a roll. But then I remembered that in the past, the staff have always been kind enough to put on a strip or two of packing tape when needed. So I asked if they could just use a little from their roll behind the counter. She told me they are "only permitted to give ONE piece of tape" and would have to charge me five dollars for an additional piece. Absolutely absurd. She even turned to her colleague for confirmation, who said, "I have no idea--I've never charged for tape." Yet the first woman insisted, "We always charge five dollars. Isn't that correct? Like we do at Julington Creek!" At that point, I was so frustrated I walked out with my package. For context: there is usually a tall, dark-haired young man who works there--he's professional, helpful, and one of the nicest people I've met. I'm not sure what happened to him, but his absence was definitely felt today. As a business owner myself, I can tell you this: customer service matters. And if today's employee worked for me, she wouldn't last a day. Palencia deserves better. read more

Since I moved to St. Augustine in Feb 2024, I have used the Palencia UPS store several times. Each time I am greeted with a smile, professional service and notary service when needed. Packages arrive safely and the store is equipped to handle all my needs for shipping, printing, packaging and mailing. Even better is the ease of parking near the front door. Life in the 'hood just keeps getting better! So happy UPS opened a store here! The staff is super friendly, helpful and they are a full service store! Woot! Did you know you can return items you buy on Amazon to a UPS store? Yep, Yep, Yep! Just start the return online through Amazon, select to return to UPS, printout the bar code and take it and the item to UPS. It's that simple! You don't have to wrap the item, provide a box, packing material or anything!!! They will give you a receipt when you drop it off and that's it...just walkaway.....................yes, it is as easy as it sounds! The store is shinny and new...no neighboring businesses at the moment in the brand new strip mall. Needless to say, there is plenty of parking at this time right in front. But there is a huge lot directly right next to it with the fairly new Publix if parking ever does become an issue in front (hope that makes sense). read more

I sent my daughter in to ship a boxed, packed saddle with a prepurchased label. Done. Nope - they sales associate talked her into REPACKING the thing unnecessarily and charged her $50 to repack it into a box that I could have bought at Lowes for $3, and used the same packing materials. Daughter was trying to help me out and just paid it, but this guy totally ripped her off. If it had been the first time, maybe I wouldn't write this review, but it wasn't. This is why I packed it myself in advance, and would never have let them talk me into repacking. This store completely rips you off for boxes and packing materials. Don't go in there expecting a reasonable deal;. Go buy the packing materials for a tiny fraction of the cost elsewhere. read more

The environment at this location has a great vibe. The clerks are quick to attend to your needs, whatever they might be. I needed stamps, I needed to tape a return box, I had an Amazon drop off, I needed to overnight a check and last but not least I needed to renew my passport. One stop shop! Thanks guys! This ups is very racist! My son-in-law is trying to find a job where we live. This ups is right around the corner from us: so it is a 3 minute drive. He called this store to see if they were hiring and they said yes. The next day he walks into the building trying to make sure that they were hiring and to give them his resume. The guy with the short blonde hair said that they are NO LONGER HIRING. I thought that was strange so I decided to call them a week later and YUP they are hiring all of a sudden. Just WOW ! I was seriously appalled and disgusted. I do not like racism and will tolerate it. Just sick ! Set aside your ways and give people a chance. read more

I know this might sound petty, but here it goes. I used to come here when it was managed by someone else and it was great. Now, the wait times are strangely long and the store smells like rotten garbage EVERY TIME I visit. I'm talking like rotten chicken skin being left in the trash can for three days kind of smell. It's awful. I went in to purchase stamps in March. They said they only had Christmas stamps. I asked if there was any other way to get them without Santa on them. They said "no". I finally asked if they sold the rolls of stamps without Santa and I was told "yes". What???? I just asked if there was a way to get stamps without Santa and was told "no". Communication problems? I'd say so. Also, when mailing my package a couple of months ago, I requested insurance. The guy messed up and had to start over, forgetting to put the insurance on the package. (I was sending my Maui Jim's in for repair and it was a requirement of the company.) I'm super grateful the sunglasses made it okay. But, if they hadn't, I would have been up the creek. And another thing. I went in today to mail a letter. I wanted to mail it using USPS. I was asked why. I said because it's cheaper and I like them better. He proceeded to tell me that USPS was going to cost me six dollars and change and the delivery date that the screen showed was two days later. He told me that it would not get there on that date...And then proceeded to tell me that it was going to cost me $100 to get it there in 2 days. If I wanted it there in one day it was going to be $130. But, for only $70 it would be guaranteed by Wednesday. Today is Thursday. I told him I was going to take my chances with USPS telling me with a tracking number that it would be there Saturday for only six dollars and change. Does this place really think people are this stupid? And that's why I prefer USPS....Mike drop Update: my package was mailed out on Thursday and received on Monday in California. With only 41% of the US partially vaccinated, this is not showing concern or empathy for your customers. Been in a few times, usually to return a package to Amazon or Comcast. Each time was in and out with quick courteous service.

The staff here are absolutely fantastic, I had about an hour of notary services and they did a superb job. One worked with me while the other vacillated to customers and vice versa, none of their customers had to wait (which I was worried about). Love these people! read more

I cannot believe the fantastic service at UPS Palencia. Have experienced terrible service and rude people at the other UPS close by, was not sure I would even try itm then ordered a product that wasn't what I wanted and called to return it to find out I had to take it to UPS Dreading going I printed out the label as instructed and it was 3x the size of the package. When I got to UPS from my house, A 3.5 mile drive, really close, and walked in as I started to explain my problem, the gentleman said looks like you need a different label, then proceeded to print a new label. give me a copy for reference seal the box and NO CHARGE!! It would have cost me at least $7-9 dollars at the UPS i used to go to, Added bonus, they staff is so kind and treat you like friend, smiles all around, Hi how are you as you enter. From now on this is the only UPS i will use. So glad its there, so glad I went. Keep up the great work!!!! read more

I tried to give these folks another chance last week, but the maskless manager/notary who seemed to hate being there wanted to charge me $20 for a box.
