the store is consistently good, not great. there's a rotation of representatives at any given time. their knowledge and customer service is as varied as items brought in for shipping. i once had to have a document notarized. it took three visits to catch the notary in the store. when i did and was able to take advantage of the service, the clerk seemed a bit disappointed that i needed her assistance. the cost of notarization seemed reasonable. all in all, it's a handy location that i use regularly. and i'm just glad they have people that will show up and work. read more

A pair of glasses was shipped from the Madison store to me in Florida. The cost to ship a pair of glasses was $147.00 I told my mother to use UPS Store as I thought they would help her get the best deal. My mother insisted on overnight air, paid the exorbitant fee for what was described by the manager as, "purchasing an airline seat." The shipment was late and we are making a claim for the return of all of our money. According to UPS website Any UPS ground or express packages that don't arrive on time are completely free to you. However, you probably won't be surprised to hear that UPS doesn't automatically refund you after a late delivery. It's your responsibility to file a claim with the company to request a refund. Well this store did not make that easy, will not provide evidence they made a claim and were not helpful. Besides, the "Manager" was pretty sassy. Think of going to the source if you use UPS or ship another way. read more

Employee got my business done, but was kind of mechanical. Definitely expensive to pack and ship a guitar to California...$184. Easy to find. The ups website they ship BB guns. Turns out, this store is not a main store, so they don't ship 70 year old rusted BB guns. They are weapons. read more

It's not often I leave a review unless it's necessary but being a business owner I think it's an important way to improve your business standards. I have a huge problem bringing the contents of a shipment and not seeing them placed in the box before I leave. This leaves extreme doubt in my mind on important business related shipments but I was told it'd be boxed and shipped overnight. 6 days later, the business shipment did not arrive and the tracking number on my receipt did not work. 8:00am Monday, tried to call this store, multiple times, to get help and for 30 minutes the phone rang without someone answering. I sent an email requesting help and a return phone call. No call returned. Drive to business and the only comment I got on why my tracking number was wrong on the receipt , why shipment was late, no answer on phone, and no return phone call was... "I can't answer that." This also falls after the fact that my wife was charged over $400 for shipping insurance and was not asked before the charge was applied (exact same employee of business). Wife went back to the business to address the charge and was refused to be refunded. This is just bad business all the way around! read more

Went in to ship a rectangular canvas painting not weighing more than 3 pounds and they wanted to charge me $80. They had already put it in the box which cost $30, so they wanted $120 total. I had to keep the box but took my business to fedex. Ended up paying $50 to ship the box ups gave me so in all $80. If I had gone to fedex first it would have only cost $45 total. $120 vs $45 just ridiculous. Update on the painting shipment, the paper they put around the painting melted against is and ruined the painting. Thanks a lot. Do not recommend at all for shipping needs. read more

The customer service is awful. The store on I-55 in Maywood Mart is so much better. I just moved to Madison and thought I would give this store a try. I will go back to Maywood Mart from now on. I took a package to this location to ship off. I used to always use UPS to ship packages because they were reasonably priced and reliable. I took the box in and they wanted 80 dollars to ship and 26 dollars to package. I took the package back home and repackaged it myself and took it across to the FEDEX store across the street. They charged me 36.50 to ship the same item. For some reason UPS is slacking and their prices have sky rocketed AND most of all they are extremely inconvenient when it comes to claiming insurance. They will find any means to get out of paying you insurance when something goes wrong. (Even after you pay EXTRA MONEY for insurance.) USPS and FEDEX are better AND cheaper than UPS I don't think I will ever set foot in there again. read more

I went in to return a package to a cell phone insurance company and just because I didn't say the right word which was "rebuttal" they charged me to return the package that the cell phone company said I could send back for free through ups. So stupid. Make sure you say it's a rebuttal. Lol read more
