I bought a Amazon package to be shipped back the store clerk said that for Amazon packages you need to have them taped up before bringing them in. She then proceeded to tape up the package and said I would be charged for the tape which was $3.00 little bit excessive for a package. Then proceeded to tell me that I would have to go to have my label printed off before they could ship it. That they were not able to do it and I would have to go to staples to have it done. So just letting you know just go to staples and bypass this place. read more

This is the most disorganized and poorly run business of any type, anywhere that I have ever seen. I will never use their services again. It's unfortunate that they have a monopoly, but from now on I will travel a greater distance in order to have a more confidence-inspiring experience. Among other complaints, their tracking numbers are never working, they lost one of my packages and were useless in helping me track it or file a claim, and their customer service is generally poor. There was a young woman when I went in this week who was terrific! They need several more competent and well organized employees like her to turn this disappointing business around. read more

I carefully measured my oversized package wrapped in plastic. It came to 50x21x8" and weighed 6lbs. According to the UPS calculator it should have cost $85.05 to ship. The store owner said it has to round up to the nearest inch, I showed him that it was actually under 8" and he claimed the laser would measure to the little corner of the plastic wrapping that was lifted. Seriously? On top of that he charged me $101.87. When I entered "his measurements" it still should have only cost me $87.65. I am curious as to what was really entered. This is theft. I am reaching out to UPS on this matter. And yes I agree that this is the most unprofessional and disorganized place. And store owner- please don't reply with false concern unless you are willing to offer a refund of the overcharge. read more

The auction house near this UPS store recommended them. I participate in online auctions across the country to build my collection of old glass. I have to say that I was nervous about getting my won auction lot picked up and shipped. You see, it was complicated by the fact that we had to sort out which items to ship and which to discard. And then get them packed and shipped safely. So in the lot were 16 pieces of glass. We shipped 9. These Glass pieces were worth 3k plus. The owner of the store I spoke a a number of times and exchanged photos etc., until we were both satisfied we knew what to do. So the owner came in on Sunday to get these double boxed in 2 master cartons. They arrived today with the best packaging job I have ever seen. I could not be more happy and thankful. I recommend them 1,000%. read more

CUSTOMER BEWARE: Employee theft at W. Lebanon, NH, store? I used the UPS Store in West Lebanon, NH, in June 2023 to mail many personal items from my deceased mother's house to my home in CA. The most precious item I delivered to the store was a one-of-a-kind, hand painted ceramic Venetian mask that I picked up in Venice many years ago, so it was irreplaceable. The man who helped me, possibly the owner, was very brusque and would not adequately answer my questions - a younger worker had to pipe in and offer elaboration. The man's wife returned to the store after getting take-out lunch and proceeded to plop the bag on top of my delicate items, like 100-year-old framed photos. I kindly asked her to remove her bag. The man then carried my stack of items to the back packing area (viewable from where I stood at the front counter) and I witnessed him trying to find someplace to put the items down - it was a mess without a clean surface in sight. I was not thrilled with all of this but finished my business and left - after paying almost $200 to have my items shipped. Upon returning to CA, I opened the box and to my utter horror, the Venetian mask was not in the box! I immediately called the store and the same man who assisted me stated, "What do you want?" I guess he has not heard of customer service. I explained the situation and he didn't seem to care. He stated he would look around the store and call me back. He never did. I called again and received the same song and dance - and no return call. I also sent 2 emails as follow-up and received no response. I then opened a claim with UPS and have just received a reply that my claim has been approved for payment. I hope the expense is charged back to this NH store. Their total lack of concern or follow-up, plus their constant brush off makes me believe it was employee theft. If so, I am appalled and incredulous. I would expect this type of shady behavior from a large city store, but not from one in my beloved New England. In the future, I will ship items via USPS and I recommend that you not ship anything more expensive than paperclips with this business. Bottom line: Take a photo of your items while at the store as insurance in case you need to file a claim for "lost," "missing," or damaged items! read more

This is a very convenient store, owned and staffed by very, very helpful, friendly, and service oriented people. While some stores/services may merit the negative criticism that others choose to leave, the UPS store in the Shaw's place does not deserve this. At all. These good people are helpful and solicitous. They have assisted me with packaging, and have graciously printed labels and asked if I would like a receipt printed off. I hate to say it - but the criticisms of these folks is so off-the-mark, so arbitrary, so counter to what I have experienced myself - time-after-time, for personal shipments, or "free" amazon returns - that I suspect there is something driving the criticism. DO NOT GO HERE! The worst customer service! Both of the men working here are horribly rude... so much that I had to walk out before I became disrespectful in return. Not only did they treat us poorly, but my husband had to help one of their customers who needed assistance. She was an elderly woman who needed to print some documents, but was not computer savvy. They wouldn't come out from around the counter to physically assist her, so my husband had to do their jobs for them. Unbelievable. I am so thankful we didn't get our mailbox with them. Nor would I recommend anyone use their services. They couldn't even overnight our package. This is not a UPS and they should consider pulling their affiliation with this man. You own a business, sir. Do you even WANT customers? Then you should be relatively polite to people who enter your business. read more

The UPS delivery trucks can't get up our driveway in Vermont if there's any snow. The trucks are more suited to the streets of New York City than the hills of the Green Mountain State. I arranged, using MyUPS (for which I pay an annual fee), to have a couple of parcels sent to us by Amazon re-directed to this UPS Store. I went in this afternoon to pick up the parcels. I had my drivers' license, and also had MyUPS on my iPhone -- so had access to the tracking numbers. I was advised by the officious and unfriendly clerk that the parcels were addressed to my wife, so she had to come in to the store, in person, to pick them up. I explained that if the parcels had been delivered to our house, UPS would have just left them on the porch. The clerk, and his equally officious boss/colleague, were unmoved. I checked the MyUPS site when I got home, and found these instructions: "A government issued photo ID is needed to pick up the shipment. If you are picking up the shipment and are not the addressee you will also be required to provide the tracking number." I was not (technically) the addressee -- but I told Officious #1 and Officious #2 that I had an ID showing my name (same surname as my wife), my address (same as that on the two parcels), and had the two UPS tracking numbers. If you're going to be officious, at least follow the rules. Lousy customer service in a dingy, messy UPS Shop. read more

I've only ever dropped off packages here, so I can only speak to that service. The man behind the counter has always been very nice and will even wait for me to bring everything in and start ringing up the receipts so that I don't have to wait very long. There was once when i was struggling with taping my package, so he helped me do it very quickly. And even when I accidentally bring packages meant for USPS, he'll take care of it for me. Bad customer service. Shipped item, but they didn't have the right size box so my package sat for two days while they waited for the box to arrive. Didn't tell my employee that when he dropped it off on Wednesday, was told when I called on Thursday that the package would be on the truck at 530pm, and then when I called on Friday was informed about their lack of box. I didn't know one could have a bad experience doing something so seemingly mundane as sending a package but alas! It is indeed possible. I came here to send a return. I had the label on my phone but didn't have a mobile code that was apparently needed. The solution was simple: print the label. The clerk offered no such solution. He brushed me away simply saying "you need to print it, I can't send it like this." NEXT! He helped the customer behind me who nail belt offered I "just got to the public library to print the label". Allow me to add that I had a very sleepy infant on my chest. I was obviously in a hurry and needed assistance. So I step aside to gather myself and figure out a solution. Well the answer was glaring me in the face. All over the shop they have signs boasting the services they provide, one of which includes PRINTING. I went back to the clerk and asked if THEY could print the label for me. What happened next was utterly ridiculous. He pointed meekly at a computer and told me to access my email. Well, the security settings on my email wouldn't permit me to access my email form their computer so then I asked again if there was another way, say perhaps, I could forward the email to them? He points to a small piece of paper taped to the counter that has the store email. I send the label, they print it and charge me a dollar. All of this took almost 20 minutes. So in fact the answer to my problem was there all along but they just couldn't be bothered. They didn't offer to help me at all and they wasted my time while I tried to get my package sent and keep my tired baby calm. What a disappointing and frustrating experience! read more

I am writing this review, mainly in response to the previous reviewers who criticized these store employees as I don't like to see, hear about, or read about good people getting maligned by others. I have been patronizing this UPS store on a regular basis from the time it opened. I have shipped personal items from this store, eBay/amazon items through this store, and I have made use of their packaging services for larger items I was unable to box. In ALL cases, ALL of the folks who work here have been polite, professional, knowledgable, and helpful. While the UPS packaging services can get a little pricey - don't blame them, blame the parent company. This is just a franchise store. I have seen this store during holiday peak times when it is quite busy, and I have been amazed at how well the employees keep their good temperment despite several provocations I have witnessed coming from the customers. (Does anyone remember the old, UPS warehouse/drop off center in Hartford? Now THAT was a nightmare!) Even when I come in with a pre-paid Amazon return item - something for which I am not responsible for any payment - they receive it graciously, and when I ask for a printed receipt for the drop off, they invariably say "Sure. No problem." Could there be something else at play here? Could the negative reviews indicate some intolerance - for other, unstated reasons, on the part of our neighbors? I certainly hope not. But as far as I'm concerned - this little store is a convenient gem. And so I say to all those who work there: "Thank you", And best of luck getting through this holiday season dealing with some of the crankier members in our communities read more

I was surprised to read so many negative reviews for this UPS location. Granted, I only use this store for shipping packages, so I don't have any experience with the mailboxes, but every transaction I have had with this business has been polite, professional, helpful and successful. Shipping Christmas pkgs. at mere minutes before the daily deadline of 5:30, I thought I would miss the truck. Instead, I was assured that the owner would drop off the boxes to the truck himself, as I watched the UPS driver go off with other pkgs. to get to the airport in time for the Air Delivery pkgs. Tracking my packages this morning, I see they are already loaded for delivery to their destinations today. I am very pleased to use this UPS store for shipping packages and Overnight letters. read more

I shipped china - very well wrapped in bubble wrap, plus tons of Styrofoam peanuts and padding. Checked to make sure each box was clearly marked "FRAGILE". Several pieces arrived cracked so I called UPS to file a claim. I had purchased insurance on each box, after all. No dice. They denied the claim saying the shipment had been rejected by the sender. Not true! The sender actually did purchase several pieces. And the sender advised me that UPS was the worst about denying claims. So if you're shipping something fragile, use the US Post office instead or FedEx - am still trying to get my money so next step is to file a complaint with Better Business Bureau. Don't pay for a box at this store! They limit you to the number of packages you can receive, if you get more than 15 a month, they charge you extra for each package. This is not in the contract and I argued it but they will just return your packages if you receive more and don't pay the extra fee. read more

I used this UPS Store to ship a couple packages before I discovered better UPS locations elsewhere. This UPS store is not confidence-inspiring. It was messy, disorganized, and kinda sketchy, with bad customer service. The people working there seemed hassled and unhappy. I was never given a receipt for my packages, just told to leave them on the counter, and had to cross my fingers and hope they'd get to the addressees. It's an ok place for its purpose. I've mailed packages there on a couple of occasions. It seems to take a pretty long time for things to arrive at times. Once I was in a hurry to get a package to arrive and asked the clerk, who said 4 days. I had passed a UPS man with a package going out of the store as I was going in, and I looked and saw his truck in the parking lot. I asked the clerk if that was the pick-up man and he said yes. I then asked if said package would get there sooner if I caught him before he left, and the clerk said yes. He gave me the package and I ran it out to the truck, just catching it in time. It appears that If I hadn't been so observant, my package wouldn't have gone out until one day later! read more

Went to drop a ups letter off that I had sealed and ready to go. One of the two guys working said " Just leave it on the counter" , I replied that I needed a drop off receipt, which then the other guy said "well if you used a drop box you wouldn't get one" thus I replied, "that is why I am here" ... they continued still to be argumentative and unwilling to assist, so I finally left.
