    Daly Leach Memorial Chapel

    Daly Leach Memorial Chapel

I am writing this with grief, frustration, and a deep sense of injustice. I do not recommend…read moreDaly-Leach Memorial Chapel, and I believe the public has a right to understand why. My dear friend, David Earl Connors (a resident of California), was murdered in Hamilton, Montana, and just seven days later, Daly-Leach cremated his body--despite an active, open homicide investigation. This hasty decision may have destroyed key forensic evidence, and it occurred under deeply questionable circumstances. The cremation was authorized by David's estranged sister, Marcel, with whom he had little to no contact. Despite objections and unresolved legal matters, Daly-Leach allowed her to make this permanent decision. At the time, authorities had already received a copy of David's unsigned Will, which clearly stated he wished to be buried, not cremated. He had also been baptized as a Catholic on 2/14/2017, confirmed by a sworn declaration from his pastor--and Catholic doctrine discourages cremation. Even worse, detectives were still waiting for a court-issued search warrant to access David's phone and laptop, where a signed and notarized Will may have been stored. The very day of the cremation--exactly 7 days after the murder--detectives had just obtained David's phone from Shannon Connors Peratis, the wife of Scott Peratis, the man who admitted to shooting David. That phone, which could have confirmed David's true final wishes, was not even in police possession until the exact day Daly-Leach cremated his body. When confronted about this, Tom at Daly-Leach stated that even a signed Will would not be honored, because in his words, Montana follows the Law of Succession, meaning David's estranged sisters would determine what happened to his body. So, even if David had a legally binding Will, Daly-Leach made it clear they wouldn't follow it. This is beyond disturbing. So again I ask: * Why rush the cremation in the middle of an active murder investigation? * Why ignore the existence of a known Will and religious beliefs? * Why not wait for law enforcement to execute the search warrant and verify David's final wishes? * Why does a funeral home believe it is appropriate to disregard the expressed and documented wishes of the deceased? David suffered a violent death. What followed was, in my view, a further violation of his dignity and legacy. Closure should never come at the cost of justice, truth, or human decency. I hope and pray the Ravalli County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate thoroughly and brings full justice for David Earl Connors. He deserved so much better than what happened to him--both in life and in death. https://nbcmontana.com/news/local/new-details-emerge-in-hamilton-homicide

The company then refused to inspect my goods for damage or furnish the name of their insurance company. My experience with Merchants was terrible and in my opinion devoid of acceptable business ethics. I do not recommend them.
