I received a promise of a skilled crew for my move. Only one of the workers was licensed to drive a truck, and he was rather inexperienced and unfortunately drove the truck loaded with my belongings into a ditch. The company then refused to inspect my goods for damage or furnish the name of their insurance company. I have pictures and videos including one admission from another of the hired help whereby he admitted that they "messed up." My experience with Merchants was terrible and in my opinion devoid of acceptable business ethics. I do not recommend them. read more

We are seniors and needed help unloading the freezer. We had purchased in Missoula. We were going to try doing it with a dolly on our own but both of us have bad backs and my husband called merchants moving at 9 o'clock in the morning and asked if they had one or two people that could unload a freezer later in the afternoon. They just had a cancellation and a 2 o'clock they sent over Brian and Kenney. we also needed a washer and dryer from our garage, moved into our laundry room and the ones that were there moved into the garage. Both men were extremely respectful, conscientious, kind and did a great job in a very short amount of time. They've they even suggested I take the time to sweep out the area of the old washer and dryer that they pushed into the garage. Will definitely use this company again and highly recommend it. This is without a doubt the most disreputable company I have ever dealt with. I had just bought a safe and was told this company could deliver it. I called and was quoted a price. I had to wait about 6 weeks for delivery and then they called the day before and doubled the price. Then when it arrived an extra fee was added. We used Merchants Moving & Storage in Hamilton, MT for initially storing our furniture from Nevada for 3 months, and then to move from their storage facility to our home in Montana. We had major problems with Wheaton Worldwide who moved our household into storage at Merchants... They did not stretch wrap our fabric and leather furniture as advertised, and as a result we had a lot of damage to those furnishings. From that point though it was a very good experience with Pam and her staff. Movers and handlers for Merchants were top notch in every aspect. Would definitely use Merchants again, but definitely not Wheaton Worldwide Moving. read more

IF I COULD GIVE LESS THAN ONE STAR, I WOULD. The worst company I ever dealt wtih. Rude does not begin to describe the unprofessional behavior especially of OWNER, Pam. I waited over 6 months for her to get back to me on a quote for a crating job. I finally followed up today and she yelled at me for disturbing her as she had a stack of paperwork in front of her, and said to me, "let's make it really simple, go somewhere else for your crating." With folks like this, it is up to clients to complain and that's what I'm doing. AVOID AT ALL COSTS; they are not worth the lack of customer service or your time to make the phone call. CANNOT BELIEVE THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS. I feel the next step is to share this on Facebook. I certainly wouldn't want to have any of my friends have to go through what I just did. I do understand that sometimes, people are just having a bad day. Perhaps that was the case. But rather than apologize to me for her rude and unprofessional behavior, she responded to this post by saying I was rude. No, I did everything I could to be kind given her lack of service. At the very least, she owes me an apology, but of course, I am not holding my breath! Although I knew an estimate at today's rate would not be the same in three years, my crating estimate was needed by Johnson & Johnson Company in New Jersey and I assure you, they wouldn't care if the estimate changed even a couple $100 of dollars three years from now. So, rather than being courteous and timely and giving me the estimate at today's rate, the whole thing was blown off as "simply not relevant; this customer wants an estimate for something that won't happen in 3 years". Unfortunately, this owner will decide who she wants to serve and whether it is worth her time. read more
