we are using the Chester ups multiple times for handling the returns for Amazon and others. The staffs are alway polite and helpful.

Wow Wow. I am sorry I did not ask the young guy his name. Today is Wednesday, and I went to the UPS store around 6:45 p.m. This message is for you, young guy. I hope you read the message. And I am sorry to make it public. This is also for the UPS manager, so he knows what's happening in the store. Young man, you should take a course in customer service. YOU NEED IT! If someone asks you How are you? You respond by saying...good, well, great, or bad or whatever, but you respond. Also, you didn't even want to talk or help me; well! You tried to help me a little bit but with a bad attitude. I usually see the good in people, and you probably had a bad day today and didn't want to talk or help. Very unhappy with my experience here. I brought in an Amazon return and didn't realize I needed to print my own label. Instead of coming back, I opted to pay UPS to print the label. They charged me $2 to print it but when I checked my Amazon account, I noticed the item had never been scanned indicating I dropped it off. I called the UPS store and they gave me a bunch of BS. First they told me they can't track Amazon returns, even though I gave them the tracking number from the label. Then they pretended to look it up and told me it was a USPS first class envelope...nope- it was a very large baby gate. Then told me there was nothing they could do- even though they were the ones who didn't scan the package!! When I dug out my receipt I realized they only gave me the receipt for the $2 printing fee, not the receipt for scanning my package. I visited the store and the woman said there was no manager I could speak to and nothing they could do. I've been calling back for the past 2 weeks and no one will answer. So as of right now they stole my package and I will be filing a formal complaint. *UPDATE- the day after I posted this review my package was "picked up"...2 weeks after I dropped it off. Thankful it was resolved but unhappy with how long it took and the poor customer service I received prior to posting this review. read more

This place has become a regular stop as we conduct our mailing activities. Staff are always courteous and very fast!

I think people only leave reviews when they are angry. My husband and I went to this location today to send multiple packages. The staff were very helpful and efficient. At around 6 PM the store gets slammed as that is when the last truck goes out for the day. We arrived right before 6 with no knowledge of this. I'd suggest that you visit to go earlier in the day to avoid the rush. The staff were very patient with the swarm of customers arriving right before the deadline. They made sure that the building was not over capacity and moved the line outside when there were too many people entering the building. Nice one UPS. read more

Our company usually hand delivers Christmas gifts to our clients, but due to Covid, most everyone is working at home. After Christmas we purchased some items to ship. In January it was CRAZY BUSY at UPS. I came in with 24 boxes that needed individual address labels and you could barely stand with all the packages that were prepared for shipping. The woman that waited on me was so pleasant, efficient and patient, even with all the busyness around. Addresses were double checked and I really loved that I got tracking emails. Today I went back with 13 more boxes that also needed individual address labels. Again, the man that waited on me, very efficiently and professionally, did a great job. I for one am SO VERY THANKFUL that there is a UPS store located in our town. They offer a lot of services rather than shipping as well. Thank you UPS employees for your help!! read more

Will NOT be going back there, older gantleman working there named Jim first told me he could not help me track the package because he was the only one in the store and he had costumers go in and out and had no time to help me (event though I was the only one in there at that time) I Just wanted to know how long UPS holds the package before they send it back to the shipper after uncuccesful delivery and at what location could I pick my package up. Another employee walked in at that time and I addressed her hoping she woud be more helpful, he interrupted and started repeating himself saying I had to Call the shipper and was VERY RUDE saying 'DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND?' He could not answer the siple question to how long UPS holds the package before they ship it back (even though I was there on Day 3 because hey were closed for two days on holidays). And then I was told that it was not UPS store, it was the office that Works with UPS and hey could not help. This was my first and Last time at this lcation, definately do not recommend bringing your Business there. read more

The $4 computer fee for 15 minutes for printing a shipping label (when it takes 2 minutes to print using their crappy/outdated toshiba computer) is absolutely ridiculous, especially when the clerk does not even tell you there's a fee. This place is an absolute joke. read more

I brought In a heavy package to return, and they sent it back to my address. I'm not sure if it was the owner ... middle aged dark hair, but rude and did nothing to help. I have never had a bad experience here. Customer service has always been above and beyond. From helping me to find the lowest cost of shipping, to helping to carry large boxes out to the car for me without me having to ask. Everyone is friendly and personable and Debbie always remembers me by name. For those reviews suggesting that they've had a better experience at Staples is confusing to me. The customer service at the print center at our local Staples is often manned by young people who can't be bothered to check the quality of the print project. I've been refunded more at Staples than I care to share. The UPS store in Hackettstown is very professional and knowledgeable, and is the only service I'll use in conjunction with our local post office. This place is painful. Manager ignores you as you walk in and he's stocking packing peanuts. His helper only knows how to type with his right pointer finger which is fun to watch simple addresses take 10 minutes to enter. Oh yeah, he swears in front of you as he stares at his computer screen in utter confusion. I'm always shocked to see a lack of common sense customer service at local businesses. Will I be back? It is sad that this is the closest UPS store that was available to me and my mother. I am in the process of moving and needed a rather large box shipped out across the country. The cost to ship on freight and palette is not an option. My mother went in to ship this larger box and had problems from the beginning. Not only did they watch her struggle bringing the box in but then when she had questions about pricing and how much it would cost, the owner came out and was EXTREMELY rude to her, and actually when she went to ask him a question about the details he was telling her stated, "LET ME FINISH". They treated her with such disrespect and instead of helping her and working with her just made her feel unwelcome and confused and she ended up paying way more than she needed to. Just go to FedEx or really anywhere else before you deal with this UPS Store. read more

The folks that work here are miserable, no service with a smile except for one lady that was there at the time I was shipping. Had to get lectured by the guy about writing fragile on my packages because of theft but how else would I note that since they do not ask if the items are fragile inside. The topper was when I had a not packaged yet fragile item on the scale and the owner put a box on top of it and had to tell him to remove the box off of my item. Meanwhile I was still being waited on and the owner jumped over me to wait on another customer behind me to give him the box he put on my item, not very smart. I have my own business and this service is alarming and appalling. Go somewhere else, they truly don't care about their customers. In a changing climate and competition on how people choose who they do business with, we would think they would be on top of their game. Will never go back, Staples here I come! read more

I drop off prepaid packaged there almost on a daily basis. I have never been charged a penny for dropping anything off. The $2.00 charge is for people who bring improperly packaged boxes that have to be taped properly to go thru the UPS system. These people are a business and need to charge for their services in order to stay in business. If you go to the post office with an improperly packaged box they will sell you a roll of tape to package it properly. Why should these people be any different? Great store, Great people and Great service! Try making a living a few cents at a time and see what it takes to stay in business. I have never had anything but excellent experiences here. No matter what employee is helping me they are courteous and have even saved me money a few times. I avoid the post office at all costs because I feel unwelcome there with my small children. I have not had that experience at this place. read more

Charges $2.00 for a receipt when dropping off a prepaid package. According to UPS they are not autorized to do this. Scammers!
