After walking in, I hadn't gotten the sentence, "Hi, how are you?" out of my mouth before the clerk huffed a huge sigh, shook his head, interrupting "How can I help you?" He was visibly frustrated that I had the AUDACITY to drop off a package. I responded calmly with "It's only a drop off." He proceeded to scan my package and quickly handed me my receipt. I understand the frustrations with work, having a bad day, and managing bad customers. But if customers arrive within open hours, they shouldn't be handled as if they're an inconvenience. This UPS Store is located in the Gateway Terrace shopping center, next to Freddy's. It's not directly accessible from 15-501. You have to enter the shopping center from the back. This isn't my normal UPS Store. I stopped here because it was convenient to other errands I happened to be running in the area. I had a package of Nespresso capsules for recycling. The package was sealed and ready to ship with a prepaid UPS shipping label. I normally drop these in a UPS drop box, but this particular package was too big to fit into a drop box. The employee weighed it, scanned it, and handed me a receipt. The last time I dropped off one of these Nespresso packages at a UPS Store (different location), the staff just took it from me and that was it. This store's method was more thorough, but took more time. Instead of being in and out in seconds, I was in and out in minutes. Not a big deal. Fast, either way. I visited on a Saturday around 2:30pm. There were two employees working up front and they were firing on all cylinders. During my brief visit, the store was moderately busy and the staff churned through customers at a good pace. On Saturdays, this location closes at 4:00pm (as of the time of my visit). After months and months of planning, reservations, research, spending, and family and friends booking flights and lodging... I was about to be absolutely crushed with shame and embarrassment at being unable to attend my own wedding. I still don't completely understand how I missed such a basic requirement, thinking my passport was valid for the better part of a year! I rushed online to research some kind of solution, believing I was simply f-ed, and Legal Passport was an option. I contacted them and worked with Paul, and the same day he had me on track to put my documentation and authorizations together, ship overnight to his courier team, an appointment at the regional agency for an urgent passport (I do not live in a state with an agency and would have had to flown to one, assuming I could get an appointment). I found out this disaster was the case on Saturday, had the documents with Paul's team on Monday evening, the passport processed completely by the government by Tues evening, and the passport in my hand on Friday with 5 days to spare. Really incredible. I have read reviews that Paul is rude or otherwise unprofessional. This was not my experience. He can be sharp, but it is because he wants perfect execution of what you need to put together and send so that there are no hiccups and you receive your passport. Every hang-up will be a delay and reduce your chances. He is not a magician - the government can simply take a long time or have an issue with something minor that you missed. He was extremely responsive to me on call and email and took sometimes 8 calls from me in a day. I also imagine he is dealing with a ton of very stressed people looking for an instant fix to an issue. Paul and his team helped me avoid what would have been an absolute catastrophe both financially, emotionally, familial-y. Thank you so much to you and your team. I highly recommend Legal Passport.
