Don't get hustled. I came into the UPS Store to do an Amazon return. The woman who helped me was an Asian woman who appeared to be in her 50's. I'm not sure if she was trying to pull a scam but she scans my receipt with the QR code and then says I need to pay for a box. I asked why, because the instructions from amazon tell you that a box is not necessary (when you start the return) and literally the information on the receipt says "Show the return code to an associate, who will scan the QR code, pack, and ship your return for free." - See the photo below - I told her that I didn't need to provide a box and she refused to give me a receipt with my tracking information. We went round and round for several minutes about this, even after me reading the instruction information to her. I had to call amazon from the store (which took forever) and in the meantime I found a box, then pack it myself for this woman because she said that it was policy. I know it's not policy and the fact that she is forcing people to buy a box at their ridiculously marked up prices is absolutely outrageous. This location has had particularly bad customer service in the past and this was officially the last straw for me. Called in to Amazon and they opened up an investigation. In the meantime, be warned and don't get hustled. read more

I have been a long time customer of this UPS store and they have a lot of new people which is great. The customer service on this evening was horrible. It was close to closing time when i arrived and i asked to mail an item and to make a copy of something. I come in and do this very often. The copy that was made was horrible so i asked for it to be fixed/recopied it was smudgy and unclear... i could see the person who made the copy was having trouble with the process. They refused to remake the copy 1 copy... They said it was the printer. Hmmm, is this a Copy Center... if you cannot handle a simple print job what's the point? Ms Janet your people are totally letting you down!! No care at all... Customer Service training needed asap! Please. I'm a really disappointed longtime customer. read more

The UPS Store on Hillandale Rd. in Durham, NC. was by far the best one I have been to. Needed to mail 3 packages to my daughter and drove to and called several other Fed Ex places, as well as UPS places and the response were, "No we don't have any boxes bigger than 24 x 24." When I called the one on Hillandale Rd. and spoke with Janet West she said for us to bring them in and she would try and package them up and send them out. Sure enough that is exactly what she did! I recently used this store to ship a large coffee maker (25 lbs) back for warranty work. I had packed the coffeemaker myself and the owner warned me that without bubble wrap around the machine, UPS would not honor a damage claim. For a nominal fee the owner repacked the device. Well, wouldn't you know it, the machine got damaged in shipping. UPS honored the claim in large part because the owner verified that the package was packed correctly. Recently I receive payment from UPS to cover the damage. The owner of this store was helpful and courtesy very step of the way. I can't recommend him and his store highly enough. I think this UPS store is great. I've used this one many times and never had a problem. They've packed packages for me, and did great. Every time I've shipped they got the packages to the destination on time or sooner without fail. They have my frequently shipped to locations in memory so all I need to do is tell them the location or recipient and they get a label ready pronto. AND they have accepted all of my USPS mail in a convenience slot just inside the front door. I can't trust my local mail carrier since she has brought back my outgoing mail on more than one occasion and the USPS simply won't do anything about it. I'm willing to pay a little more for great service and that is what you get at this location. read more

I had a very important overnight package that needed to be delivered no later than noon time. I paid the extra fee for this service. When calling the store at 3 pm the young man stated, "Owe due to the COVID, there is a delay with no guarantee the delivery time - we tell everyone this. He was the person that took my initial order and NEVER stated this or I would of selected a different carrier. I will NEVER do business with these people again after getting charged $42.00 for a small overnight package. The new owners are new and have absolutely no care in the world for customer service. As a small business owner myself, I will be sure my network is well informed of the way this establishment does business. read more

This particular UPS store is terrible. I just got ripped off with freaking envelops. I can't believe how the exact same envelope can cost $2 at this store and cost $0.69 at another location 5 min away. I will not return here again. These guys either are not honest or just so bad at their jobs that they won't price things correctly (when I pointed out that the price tag said the envelope was cheaper, she replied that the price tag is wrong!) read more

These guys are sharks. I brought in a package that weighs 49 lbs and was 36x18x12, they charged me for an 87 lb package 40x19x19, $64 vs $45. I should have checked the shipping label which is the only place this information shows up! Ahhhh! read more

Took a package in as my first stop to ship. Got the price for UPS which was pretty high. It was a larger box but under 8 lbs. Also was told the USPS price which was higher than UPS. Went ahead with the UPS shipping and after getting home learned that the USPS price I was quoted was double the real price. Wow! Not that I can get my $$ back now as they give no refunds but if my experience can save another person from this gouging then I'll be happy. So, check out other options before using The UPS Store. Maybe it's just this location that has this practice but I think I'll avoid all UPS Stores from now on. :-( read more

UPS is the absolute worst shipping company! I paid for 2 day air on a package, got confirmation emails that it would be on time and the day of delivery get an email stating it would be another 3 days. When I call to inquire I'm told that the high volume for the holidays is to blame, meanwhile the tracking info shows the package sat in their facility for 2 days. Now my math says it's impossible to ship a package in 2 days when it sits in a warehouse for 2 days, no matter what holiday it is. If you can't meet the obligations then you shouldn't sell the option! $50 dollars in shipping for 2 day air and it's going to arrive the same time as a $7 ground package. read more

This is without question the best UPS store I have ever been to. I can enter into their store, drop off a wheelchair and they'll pack it for me and I don't even have to wait around! I just pay for it and leave. They do all the rest. I have never had a problem with them and my stuff always arrives at its destination intact. They pack everything really well. I had a great experience here today. The manager was extremely helpful and courteous throughout a lengthy and difficult scan of 350+ pages of handouts. He even lent me his USB drive to take home with me because the files were too big to email. 10/10! read more
