I have been to the ups store on numerous occasions to drop ups packages off for delivery. On several occasions the owner Linda was unpleasant and I learned by her general demeanor that she is an not a friendly business owner. However, the ups company does not have convenient hours and I have been forced to use her services as I was recently when I needed to mail packages quickly so as to go out of town to deal with a family emergency. Upon entering the store, Linda informed me that she would not be helping me tape my packages and that the tape products were for purchase in her store. Her tone was rude and I responded that I did not expect that she would. I had originally planned to purchase a new tape roll but her tone made me think twice so I went back to my car to get my tape. I wrapped my my first package and turned to go get my second one when Linda told me to pick up the garbage she assumed I was leaving which was a quarter sized piece of paper. I explained to her that I had no intention of leaving my trash and was planning to wrap my next package. I was the only person in the store at this point until a Man walked in and she left me and waited on him. When I was finished, I put the first box in the ups area and went back to get the second when at that point I asked her if she gets paid for this ups service. She became very irritated and told me that she did not get paid and she did not need my business. She picked up my package and asked me to leave the store. At this point I pled with her saying I was on my way to hospice to see my dying mother to which she replied " your mother is in hospice and this is the way you treat people?" She then told me to get out of her store and never come back and escorted me out the door while I wept. She carried my packages and told me never to come back. I told her that she was being incredibly rude (through tears) and she said "I must have learned it from you." Still crying, I appeared at the ups headquarters who were extremely sympathetic and apologetic. Needless to say, they seemed not surprised by Linda's behavior and offered me paper and pen to write a formal complaint. This woman is an unhinged person who is rude and nasty. Do not patronize this heartless freak. Instead of going postal, it should now be called "going ups". This woman brings bad customer service to a new level. If it were possible to give negative stars, I would. Never going back and telling everyone I know. If you read the other reviews, you will notice a similar pattern, this woman obviously has issues with tape. read more

I was curious about why this store is always empty, compared to the post office. I needed to send a letter priority mail, and buy a book of stamps. I thought it would be a little more expensive, but maybe more convenient than the post office. However, I was quoted prices that were at least 1/3 higher than the post office. They didn't seem at all interested in giving me the best value for what I needed, and kept trying to push UPS services on me. When I questioned why the prices for mail were so much higher, the sales person told me that they add a surcharge ($5.00 for priority mail, $10.00 for a book of stamps), and said that you pay more there but don't have to stand in line. When I said that I would just buy the book of stamps from the post office, but still use them to send the letter, another person, who I assume is the store manager, yelled at me, told me that I could just go to the post office, and refused me service all together. If you want to hemorrhage money and not be allowed to ask what you're spending it on, go to this store. On a side note, the staff was letting a non-employee child of another customer run around in the back of the store with her small dog, where I assume some packages and mail belonging to other customers is kept. That seemed unprofessional, above and beyond the obnoxiousness of the staff. read more

I called a number of places to see how I could get my deceased mother-in-law's belongings home to Oklahoma. One of the places I called was The UPS Store and they called me back promptly. I dealt with Linda, the owner. She was so professional and provided excellent service through the whole process. My mom lived 30 minutes outside of Durango. The UPS Store sent 2 men to load all the belongings and return them to the store to be packaged. We had a lot of valuable, breakable pieces of furniture. I was concerned, but Linda communicated with me throughout the whole process (we never even had to go into the store). The whole process was done efficiently and at a great price. I expected to pay more but she told me at the beginning she would work hard to get the price as low as possible and, she did. I was so pleased with the excellent service and great follow up. If I lived in this area, I would use The UPS Store for all my packaging/shipping needs. I can't say enough good things about my experience. read more

I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to Melissa at this particular location for her exceptional service. She went above and beyond by carefully packaging my golf clubs during shipping. I utilized Ship Sticks; however, Jay personally boxed and packaged my golf clubs and demonstrated remarkable attention to detail in packaging. She even contacted me via phone once the package was securely prepared and confirmed its arrival at my residence in Boerne, Texas. I was genuinely impressed by the meticulousness and care she demonstrated, especially considering the high value of my clubs. On my 1st visit to this location, I stopped in on a Sat. to drop off 2 Amazon returns and could only find 1 of the return labels on my phone. As i stood off to the side while reloading the Amazon app to try to retrieve my label (it took a while!), I was blown away with not only the speed with which Linda dealt with each customer, but her kindness and compassion as well. She chatted with each person, and I'm sure she brightened every one of their days, including profusely thanking a Marine for his service, offering meals or help to a newly widowed woman who needed a Notary, and telling an older women with a shaved head how beautiful she looked. A little kindness goes a long way, and Linda nailed it!!!! read more

For my business in the four corners it is sometimes an emergency to get a package out because of the critical nature of my consulting firm and the shipping that I do and the UPS store over the past few years I have been going to just changed ownership here in Durango. It was the first time the owner came out and personally helped me because the line was horrible out of the door but in spite of that they got me in and out quickly. I almost never write a review but I have never seen the store this busy and to be helped by the owner herself who took the time to help me get my package taken care of properly and up and out. I take care of all of my postage needs at this store, whether it is a certified letter or I need to ship a package, I have never received anything but exemplary service. The ladies are always very warm, welcoming and professional. I am at this store doing business at least once a week, I have been there during the busiest of times, Linda and the rest of the staff have never been anything but awesome...I've witnessed them dealing with impatient customers complaining about this, that and the other...yet they maintain professionalism. Linda and her staff are helpful, courteous, and thoughtful. Even in the midst of the holiday shipping rush, they all tried hard to offer the best packing and shipping solutions, and the prices are reasonable. They have shipped everything for me, from books and family photographs to antique crystal and fragile bone china--always, they have treated the items as though they were their own. When UPS creates a problem, as happened once, Linda stepped in, recovered my costs, and resolved the issue to my satisfaction. I am delighted to do business with her and her staff. read more

I have been and dropped off packages several times. Just this week I was in and Melissa and Blake were very attentive and helpful. If u have ever waited in line at airport check in or security check or check out at grocery store you know the people providing the service are attentive to the person who they r checking in or out...as it should be. I thought I would have my UPS shipment re-directed to the UPS Store since I was out of town and didn't want the package sitting at my house. Lo and behold, upon returning home I learned that the package had been returned to the shipper. UPS customer service had no idea why it was returned but the UPS Store did! They investigated, returned my call, and told me how to prevent this from happening again. I was impressed by the store's professionalism - and even more important - kindness! read more

Melissa is so very patient and went above and beyond her duty. She kindly let me sort through my qr codes and returns. I have had amazing experiences here returning items and shipping items. All of the employees I have dealt with at this location are polite and patient. Too many reviews here are about customers who don't read their Amazon instructions and then are upset with the employees. Get organized before you go in and read the directions folks. Seems like I've had a lot of Amazon returns lately, so I've made regular trips to this UPS store. They have always been fast and efficient and pleasant to speak with. This UPS location is farther from my house, but I still make the drive because it's much faster service. I learned ownership and management of the store (locally owned and operated) just changed hands, so the old, bad reviews don't really apply. read more

Kudos to this store. Most mail people are in such a hurry and dont want to be friendly. They want to move on to the next person. Linda has a great personality and very friendly.
